1.) Alabama, MS, Arkansas, and Kentucky are up there with West Virginia for worst state in the union. What California seventeen year old would voluntarily submit himself to that lifestyle.

2.) Definitely an uphill battle.

3.) As long as he doesn't end up at Ohio State, Notre Dame, or an SEC school, I will be happy.

Worst state means you would rather visit than live there. Michigan is both a place people love to visit and live. West Virginia, Mississippi, Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama, for me, are nice drive through states. Not really places I would like to live in.

Then there is always one state, I don't care to even drive through. Known as the worst state ever around here, Ohilo.

JH was hard working doing camps...

All the while Saban was whining & bitching about the camps...

The youngster might have taken notice to the above...

Although this class is pretty stocked with RB's, there'd always be room for a stud like Harris.  I'll say though in that highlight video on the first play shown there is some of the most pathetic tackling I've ever seen.  Yes, he is a beast, but sheesh.

In the past, Urban Meyer and even moreso Nick Saban has threatened to pull scholarships if visits like these happened to their commits. While I doubt they will stop recruiting these five star kids as that would be incredibly stupid, I wouldn't be surprised if something to that effect occurs or if some of these kids drop out last minute. That being said, holy balls that's a talented list of rib eaters.

I think I'm being misunderstood. This has nothing to do with Hoke's recruiting policy unless you're talking about how he would still recruit committed players to other schools. Saban had threatened in the past to pull a scholarship if one of his recruits visited Michigan once already committed to Alabama. And because of that threat the recruit backed out of the visit to Michigan. I don't recall which commit or commits it was as it wastands not the 2017 class, but I definitely remember reading about it. I'm just saying that kids back out of events like the BBQ last minute for various reasons, and I wouldn't put it past Saban or Meyer to pull that same threat again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe at least at one time that threat was posed to Kareem Walker by Meyer before he visited.

I would love to be a fly on the wall on NSD when Saban finds out both Nico AND Najee sign with Jim "satellite camps" Harbaugh! That would be awesome! He may have to visit Meyer's doctor about those chest pains....

Ruiz isn't coming.

I haven't heard anything about Tufele.

Singleton said at The Opening (IIRC) that he had no plans to visit Michigan.

Browning just visited not long ago (late June, I think). It's a long way to come from Texas two months in a row, especially on your own dime. (Same thing goes for Tufele from Utah, Ruiz from NJ/FL, etc.).

Keep in mind that football practices are starting tomorrow (August 1) for a lot of these kids. In fact, I'm surprised that so many out-of-state kids have confirmed visits for the BBQ, because they either have to skip practice or hightail it out of town immediately after practice to make it to the BBQ. For that reason, I think it's kind of a bad idea to have the BBQ in August, but right now the visitors list looks excellent, despite the timing. I'll be curious to see if any players end up backing out due to the logistics.
