1 Month til Spring Game, why lack of Promotion by Athletic Department

1 month til the Spring Game, and a lack of Promotion by the athletic Department on this

We got 2 Water Polo games that day, Baseball and Softball that day. Not hard to figure out this is gonna be Later in the afternoon or evening , especially with OSU having their Spring Game earilier that day. The Michigan Marching Band Calender even gave it away as to a later Spring Game this year.

Just spit out the time my goodness, and start Promoting the game.  I just do not get why the AD hasn't done this to promote this, Were a month away.

The one day you can really help all of these other sports and promote football also.

Than we wonder why we only get like 40000 people to the spring game. Osu has had their spring game hyped for months and will sell it out.

The athletic department has never given the spring game any shits. We had 2,200 in 1997 and only 4,000 the year after the national championship.

Spring game attendance is message board fodder. Win games, the end.

Do you have a link to the mgoblue article? I'm curious about the weather. Generally, spring games draw decently well in good weather, lousy in bad. My memory of the weather in spring 1997 is good, but perhaps I'm just remembering what the weather was like in Augusta, since that's when Tiger Woods was dominating the Masters for the first time.

SuperGuidance™, WD. That '98 Spring Game was one of the best-attended spring games I've ever been to, and I've been to at least 20 spring games in the 41 seasons I've had Michigan Football season tickets.

Without researching at all, I'd be shocked if there weren't somewhere in the neighborhood of 50,000+ for that one. Great spring weather plus defending National Champs meant good attendance, even though numerous sections of Michigan Stadium were restricted due to concrete work.

on the attendance figure for the 1998 Spring Game (following the National Championship). I was there with my family, and even though part of The Big House was off-limits due to construction work, there was a nice crowd on a beautiful spring day.

No kidding the Spring Game means nothing as far as season results, but it's still nice to go to the Big House for free at the halfway point between the last game and the first game of the coming season. But they treat it like it isn't a big deal when it could be a lot better of an event. They don't promote it worth a shit.

Shine I'm there. Support the Team and AA ... a yearly ritual. I do agree, many call out the attendance but never show. Posting is easy.

Kinda like those that whine about the team then sell their tickets to rivals. Great "fans".

Three things are certain with regard to the spring game and this board:

QBs will be underwhelming, and half the people here will wring their hands, and the other half will intone some variation of "we'll be fine", both groups with no justification at all.

There will be a fierce debate about whether the offense is really good or the defense is really bad, or vice versa.

Someone will make a really eye-catching play that everyone will rave about and post crappy videos of, and that player will end up doing nothing the whole season.

The athletic department knows it's time to cut the BS and do it between the lines. I think that is why JH has made himself small since the Bowl Game fiasco. Just effing win now!

We signed nearly everyone in our class in December, so there's been no room for recruiting visit stories. There's nothing to be doing right now. In the next two months we'll have spring practice, spring game, Eurotrip, camps, etc. You're not making sense.
