Notre Dame Series To Resume In 2018, Per Reports

The AP is now confirming that Michigan and Notre Dame will resume playing football against each other in the near future, as first reported by this dude:
Michigan-Notre Dame football series is set to resume in 2018, per source. Official announcement expected tomorrow around noon.

Krasnoo says Michigan will eat a two million dollar buyout of "the Arkansas game", which I take to mean the entire 2018/2019 series since cancelling just the 2018 game at home seems super super unlikely.
The AP report says that the 2018 game will be played in South Bend, which would be crazy for Michigan and pretty odd for Notre Dame. Thanks to Good Ol' Dave Brandon even years going forward feature MSU/OSU on the road. Replacing a home game against an SEC team with another road game against a tough opponent doesn't make a ton of sense. Also thanks to the contract Brandon was blindsided with, ND got the final game before the series hiatus.
Meanwhile Notre Dame already has season-ticket tentpole games in 2018, when both Stanford and Florida State travel to South Bend. They've got USC at home in 2019; their second best home game is against Virginia Tech and third best is either Virginia or BC. It doesn't make sense for either program to have the series start in South Bend. We'll see, apparently soon.
Hopefully they aren't playing every year (2-on, 2-off would be my choice) so that we get some variation in OOC opponents. But yeah, this game should be played.
I agree this series should continue, but if the above reports are true then I would rather let the series remain dead. ND canceled the series right before a game started to ensure that they have the last one at ND, and we are open to them hosting the next home game, while eating 2 million dollars, and ensuring even a more lopsided home/away schedule.
TBH if this is the case then this would be a major blow the Manuel administration. I can't imagine that this would be the deal we struck.
Warde Manuel doesn't know how to make deals! Sad!
Happy to see the games renewed. I'm in the camp that viewed Notre Dame as our second rival (MSU's recent success against us may have altered my view) and one of my favorite rivalries.
But still ... .
To Hell with Notre Dame!
Everyone murders accounts
Everything about them.
Forthwith to Hades with Our Lady. I really hate those guys.
That escalated quickly.
Whack him Brian - I need to move up one slot on the point list!
Welp, don't poke the bear I guess.
Brian is a man of his word.
Hope he can be unbanned eventually. He's a good poster.
Edit: honestly, this wasn't necessary. But, I probably don't know something that happened behind the scenes or something.
I would very much hope so.
In case your email is five years out of date and you didn't get the message I sent, you're back after a half day in exile (not Bolivian exile, though).
I'd rather play Bielema and his pork bellies than pay $2 million to play those Figthing Irish!
Nice knowin' ya...
He said the first person would be banned, not necessarily the second or third.
since Everyone murders jumped on that grenade for the rest of us, TO HELL WITH NOTRE DAME!
everyone murders actualy did get murdered!

I hope it was only a temporary banning.

Everyone Murders is the Stever Rogers of MGoBlog.
But I'm confident he'll be back, and when he returns, he'll be better than ever....
I thought he meant the first person who said it and apparently meant it. I overthought. Lesson learned: Brian is literal af when he brandishes the ban hammer
is $2M. That still means something to some of us.
They are printing money at an obcene rate. $2MM is tip money at this point. I hate ND with the heat of a 1000 suns but this is a game that should be played. Fuck Bart and his pigs.

You gotta spend money to make money?
Another AWAY game in the same year as away games to MSU/OSU, AND we pay $2 million to those Hog mofos? AND ND got the last game in the previous series?
Manuel done got Brandon'd
the $2 million is to cover Bert's feed bill
We play @ Washington and home against VT in 2020.
It has been suggested by several people to do a 2 on, 2 off setup. That would fit with the current schedule in 2020/21, then have ND back on in 2022/2023.
And yes, if we start at ND in 2018 that will be a MAJOR downer. I can't imagine our AD would agree to that.
Do we know if this is a full ongoing resumption? If not, how many known games have been comitted to?
To hell with Notre Dame. 1st amendment.

I demand the right to say whatever the hell I want to whomever the hell I want, without consequences.
Go right ahead....let us know how that works out for you.
BAHAHAHAHA, even I know that the first amendment does not work on someone's blog.
What you said? No es la verdad.
To heck with Our Lady?
Warde Manuel would be dumber than Brandon if he agreed to play the 2018 game in South Bend. You give up a home game against an SEC team to play another rival on the road in the same year... WTF?!
Have to agree. I want ND back on the schedule but it has to make sense. Also I was kind of looking forward to playing Arkansas. Hoping this report is only partially true.
