Mason Graham Commits To Michigan Comment Count

Michigan's picked up its first commit in the aftermath of the Washington paving:

Graham is a 280-pound DT who was previously committed to Boise State, and he's currently ranked in that territory—#877 on the composite. He appears to be having an excellent senior season but we'll have to see if that translates to a ratings bump. Full post in a bit.

Welcome!

As an aside to the marketing team (since I presume they helped with the graphic), why would you not make the graphic "GOT 'UM" and make the UM maize or blue and totally hit the double meaning?

To date,  we have just 3 recruits ranked in the top 300.  According to 247, we are ranked no. 17 and our recruiting is virtually on a par with Rutger. And,  no,  I'm not Maizen, but I sure hope we have lots of diamonds in the rough.

I have no idea how all these guys would be evaluated otherwise. But covid disruptions mean there's certain to be a lot more noise than usual in player rankings. And that translates to a lot more randomness in how class averages look right now. Probably good advice anyway, but this is an especially good year to chill out and see how guys look when they get on campus.

I don't know why this has to be said in every recruiting post but it does. Every recruiting service has thrown in the towel except 247. 247 can't scout everyone. Every school worth a damn scouts better than the recruiting services. Now add covid on top of that. Recruiting rankings mean almost nothing nowadays except for the obvious 5 stars.

A big, low ranked, corn-fed lookin' kid with a name that just happens to remind some of us around here of both a Glasgow bro and "Bench"?

Hell yeah, that's worth a flyer!

There's a good chance this guy turns out to be an overachiever.  ;)

Just watched Graham's film from the first few games of the season and the most impressive thing is that he's making prime California competition look like they're small town offensive lineman. He's got great jump, motor, and already has some nice pass rush moves. He's also got room to put on more weight
