Big Ten Media Days: Call For Questions
Like this, but in a suit. And at a podium. And with other Big Ten coaches and players as well. So basically not like this at all. Sorry.
Since yours truly will be at Big Ten Media Days on Thursday and Friday, time to crowdsource some questions. Those of Michigan players (Denard Robinson, Kevin Koger, and Mike Martin), and coach Brady Hoke are most likely to be asked, but if you have things for other players/coaches that are interesting enough, I may get a chance to ask them at Friday's roundtables.
So, if you have a pressing question (WHEN U SCORED TOUCHDOWN HOW U FEEL?), drop it in the comments here, and I'll ask some of the best ones. You have a couple days to give it your best shot.
What is your perfect Sunday?
Also, not as important but still crucial, Pepsi or Coke?
Who's stronger -- you or Gary Yerden?
Are the players looking forward to playing under the lights? What's the general consensus about that nature of that game?
How does Denard feel like he's adjusting with the new offensive scheme?
Mike Martin: Aside from formation changes, has he (and/or other defensive players) noticed a difference in the way this defensive coaching staff is going about business?
How many touchdowns has Denard scored with himself in NCAA 12?
Is Denard looking forward to seeing himself on the all new, 113% larger scoreboards?
Why only one defensive tackle recruit? (ie, how do you see the roster shaping up to cover what seems like an undermanned position that requires a good rotation and significant time in the weight room to prepare for)
Why do Jake Ryan and Terrence Talbott have the same number?
As some people above have asked, what's up w/ Christian Pace and Kellen Jones?
Are you going to pursue a scholarship fullback or quarterback (beyond those who have already been offered)?
When do you think Michigan will win its next Big Ten Championship?
National championship?
How do you feel about frilly toothpicks?
I'm for 'em. This club is formed.
"I like alfalfa sprouts!"
"Well then you're not in the fucking club"
Spread the word on menus nationwide.
Y U NO SAY STATE
Flavored crust or plain?
Do you iron your T-shirts?
Smoke cigars?
Did the movie Apocolyto kinda freak you out? What about Black Swan? Weird huh?
What piece are you in Monopoly.
Also, just a little football talk.
Do you think Rich Rod will get that fourth year?
Mattison:
- What defensive schemes will you be using?
- How long will it take to implement these schemes?
- How much is your current player personnel affecting the schemes you will use?
- What is the state of the defensive secondary?
- Will you use anything that you ran while with the Ravens?
For the players, I'm kinda curious how it feels to play NCAA '12 and play as themselves.. I think it'd be the coolest thing ever
Who said the actual players were in the game? Sure, Michigan has a QB #16 that is rated a 91 for speed and a 99 for smiling, but as EA will tell you, any resemblance to actual players is purely coincidental.
Q: How long are you going to do the "deflection of attention to appear humble and likeable" routine? 6 years? 10?
"What will the score be in the football game?"
Q: Is your tummy full of lovin'?
C'mon, man. You already know the answer to this one.
"What's your favorite thing to point at"?
(incorrect grammar I know)
How much pressure do you feel as one of the front runners for the Heisman and how does that translate for Michigans upcoming season?
Hail
Why don't you like the Buckeyes? What is your favorite beer, and how many do you drink on a typical evening?
Just what the hell is it you've been pointing at on the field all this time?
-and-
Question 2: Coach, you went 34-38 over 6 years at Ball State and 13-12 over 2 years at San Diego State. Why should UM fans believe that your performance will be dramatically better at Michigan?
Is the cupboard bare?
How strange is it to watch yourself on HBO with Larry David every Sunday night?
to do a morning show on ESPN radio?
How do you also have time to be the Governor of New Jersey?
Q - With a defense coming off one of the worst years in the program's history how do you go about re-evaluating the talent on the team as far as positions and starting jobs? Furthermore, if a player was playing at a particular position under the previous staff how easy/hard is it to switch them to a new position/scheme?
Q - Does the losing streak against our biggest rivals (MSU & OSU) add presure to beating them ASAP, or do you consider the score 0-0 at this point?
Q - Have any previous coaches come out and given you any advice for what's about to come (being the head coach of Michigan) - if so what was that advice?
Q: Do you sleep because when you started you said you wouldn't until we won a National Championship?
Will tackling be part of your defense?
Q: I know this isn't a question, but you really could have crawled here from San Diego if you wanted to. I mean it isn't that far fetched.
Which positions are most up in the air right now, in terms of the projected two-deep?
Q: Remember the spring game? Was that, like... supposed to happen?
what is the math, and other factors, that you use when deciding to punt or not?
I'll second this one
How soon before you will be forced to resign/retire for your role in actively covering up major NCAA violations?
Do you hate the media's attention on your shoes as much as fans do?
I have two questions for David Brandon:
1. Will Michigan continue to schedule Notre Dame as its annual home-and-home non-conference opponent? Or will the Wolverines look at other major BCS schools for future home-and-home series? Ask him specifically about 2018/19--that is when the UM-ND series takes a break. Also ask him what he thinks will be the impact of a nine-game conference schedule on Michigan's non-conference scheduling?
2. Does he foresee any scenario where the Big Ten could expand to a 14- or 16-team conference that doesn't include Notre Dame? In concert with that question, ask him about the impact the Big Ten Network would have on any conference expansion.
how many check downs Denard will have afore being advised to take off and run.
Ask Hoke how many times a day he washed his fangers.
Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear?
Coach Hoke-Will you continue to remind Tom Strobel and Kyle Kalis that factions in Ohio referred to them as a "couple" during Ohio week?
Years?
Championships?
BEAT...???
Is there anything you would like to describe as TREMENDOUS?
How many miles of sewer would you be willing to crawl through if you didn't have to sit here answering stupid questions today?
Otherwise, If it wasn't already asked,
WHEN U SCORED MICHIGAN JOB HOW U FEEL?
now that sdsu's sandifer is injured for the season, the leading receiver coming back had only 5 catches last season. while lindey is a great qb will this allow the defense to key in on the running game and try and shut down hillman or are you still worried about getting lit up through the air?
Q: "Coach Hoke, have you ever made an awful, uninformed prediction? For example, I'm thinking something along the lines of predicting that, say, Brady Hoke will NEVER be Michigan's next head coach, that if Brady Hoke were named to that post he'd lose half of the existing roster to attrition, and that, to compound matters, Brady Hoke would fail miserably in recruiting his own true first class of Wolverines?"
also:
Q: "Gaudy statistics compiled against weaker opponents or conference wins? Please choose."
I would like, if possible, to get some explanation of recruiting numbers, as in how they figure to have 25ish spots available. Are they for example specifically anticipating several more transfers related to the coaching/scheme change?
It wasn't your opinion that got you banned.
