The Best of MGoBlog - A Love-Fest
In the spirit of negating the inherent negativity of the "Worst MGoBlog Trend" post, I'm interested in reading what people think are the best MGoBlog trends, tendencies, posters, and memes. These are a few of my favorite things:
1. Anything Lloyd Brady (mentions, photoshops, etc.)
2. Posbang and Negbang Threads
3. Spelling/Grammar Nazis (the criticism can only help the poster)
4. His Dudeness (only love is going to heal him)
5. Negging Brian and TomVH (keeps them grounded)
6. Double-posts
7. "Posted from iPhone" titles

All lloyd brady references for starters. I highly enjoy when the someone replies to another and it keeps snowballing and this mini discussion has little to nothing to do with the original thread discussion. Also the witty sense of humor that people use.

I love that you can ask the most obscure question in the world and as long as it involves Michigan sports on some level somebody here will know the right answer.
And then somebody else will be 100% convinced the first answer is wrong and the debate is on.

I only go here for the funny pictures of cats

The overall quality of the content here is much, much higher than any other college football site. I love EDSBS for humor and probably get a bigger laugh out of the content there than here, but the statistical work here added to the Michigan-only content makes this place one of the best sites on the intertubes.
If you ever start losing appreciation for this place, spend a day or two on Rivals' open college football board.

I enjoy the intelligent banter. You rarely find intelligent and witty conversations on the interwebs these days.
I also enjoy the pictures and gifs. Even though they may or may not add anything to the conversation, they are great for a cheap laugh and I am always up for cheap laughs:

That picture is hilarious

Negging to Bolivia. I think this is the best new meme. This may be at the stage of running its' course around here. I remember the first post where the guy jokingly replaced Oblivion with Bolivian. Before it took off I remember laughing with the word play. And then it just exploded.
The Subsequent posts trying to free FuManBlue were just epic. Finally, any hints where people ask how Bolivia is or to prepare for a trip there.

Negged for thinking "negging to Bolivia" is running its course.
February 17th, 2011 at 2:19 PM ^
Haha, forgive me, as I know not what I was thinking in that moment. Neg accepted.

I wish I could remember the thread, but the original reference was an autocorrect from an iPhone. Profit was in the thread and ran with it, from there the rest is history.

I'm not entirely sure why, but something about your avatar really creeps me out.
February 17th, 2011 at 2:56 PM ^
Well I mean, it has been a while since you've seen a girl right? Or are many women living in the woods these days?

You guys should settle your differences with a steel cage match or something.
February 17th, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
As long as the steel cage isn't a mailbox, I'm down.

The debates that spontaneously break out between posters. The analysis and predictions. Muppets.

the "What Are You Drinking Tonight?" threads...I'm contemplating cracking open a Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat as we speak.
February 17th, 2011 at 2:11 PM ^
I love the "what's for lunch" threads and the debates about restaurants and food (e.g. the BBQ thread from earlier in the week). I still submit that Chick-fil-A is the best lunch spot in the world.

Except on Sundays.

Love those. Hearing about obscure beer that I then randomly find somewhere that turns out to be awesome? +1 of course.

1- Lloyd Brady
2- Fake Chat diaries. PLEASE COME BACK. Those were hilarious.
3- posbangs
4- any mgouser created media (Denard: the happening, season wallpapers, Photoshop threads)
5- the crazies. You know they're fun to read.

Wish list:
1- pos/neg ability on iPhone app

All else is gold. Keep up the good work Mgoworld.

I love people that upvote their own posts. No one seems to downvote themselves, though. That seems like more fun.
[Edit: Yep, it IS fun!]
February 17th, 2011 at 2:30 PM ^
I love people that upvote their own posts even though the point system isn't working.
February 17th, 2011 at 2:24 PM ^
I love when ignorant turds drop from 300 to -300 points in a matter of hours. Restores faith in humanity sometimes.
February 17th, 2011 at 2:37 PM ^
Its outstanding watching the total drop as the MGoGangMentality kicks in and gets up to speed. You know the OP thought their post/thread was a good one when they clicked "save" and quickly found out that they were sorely mistaken!
February 17th, 2011 at 4:51 PM ^
I think it's even funnier when someone who is getting negged then posts ten or twelve replies/rants/opportunities to everyone who criticizes him and then wonders why his point total is going down so fast.
Most people here, myself included, get really serious about Michigan sports; it's great to have comic relief sometimes.
February 17th, 2011 at 2:35 PM ^
I love it when posters with usernames like "Ridiculous Assertion" make ridiculous assertions.
February 17th, 2011 at 2:45 PM ^
The fact that there's one special corner of the world where "everyone murders" will never get old.

The guy who posted the picture of himself OMG shirtless with his sons.

Obssesive Michigan fans obsessing about Michigan
February 17th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
Too many things I love about MGoBlog. Here are some I didn't see.
1. Any time someone books it, or Rabacks it, or BKFinest it.
2. The anonymous source that gets people riled up.
3. Spontaneous tangents.
4. Non-revenue sports updates.
5. The occasional life lesson that accidently surfaces.
February 17th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
3. Spontaneous tangents.cosined. Also math puns.
February 17th, 2011 at 8:42 PM ^
In my short time here, I suppose my favorite thing would be the rare folks who aren't satisfied with Bolivia and want to be negged all the way to Tierra Del Fuego. Not nearly as catchy, but definitely down there.
February 17th, 2011 at 8:46 PM ^
Wait, if you joined after the MGoMalware debacle and have 693 points, that means you've posted 693 times in the last five weeks?
Now that I do the math that's not as ridiculous as I thought, but still some pretty heavy lifting.
February 17th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
I joined a few weeks before it actually.

20 new threads a day on average. If half of them are as good as this one I'm happy. So, I'm usually happy most days :-)

because I notice that the font of the letters in the end zone looks different than it used to, and then finding a hundred people on this blog who not only noticed too, but can tell you what the font is, what it was, when and why it was changed, and what's going to happen to the basketball court.
