Woodley's already has a super bowl ring and Woodson needs a super bowl ring to go along with his Heisman
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:37 PM ^
Woodson
vs.
Woodley
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
Looks like a left hook to be followed by a right cross. Quinn's about to be down for the count.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:56 PM ^
Even better Woodson Picture. Bout to go to the crib.
January 24th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
My bad Fail...
January 24th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
Too bad I don't have some cool avatar that people would like to look at atleast.
January 24th, 2011 at 12:34 AM ^
Damn, Woodley's guns sure got a big bigger since then.
January 24th, 2011 at 7:10 AM ^
I played High School ball against Woodley, so I am going to have to go with him.
January 24th, 2011 at 9:10 AM ^
The headmaster at my daughter's school has a picture of Ray Nitschke on his office wall. I asked if he was a Packers fan and he said "No, I played against him in high school."
"Wow," I said, "what a memory to look back on."
His response: "Yes, it's much more fun to remember than it was to live through."
January 24th, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
Don't like the Pack but I hate the Steelers. Plus, the whole "Woodley's already won it" thing.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
Woodson!
1. I hate the Steelers
2. I would love for Woodson to finally get that ring!
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
Beating OSU for the Rose bowl and the Steelers for the Super Bowl, Great Googly Moogly (yeah I went there) that would be NICE!
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:49 PM ^
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:51 PM ^
Exactly what I was going to say. I live in western pa and hate the Steelers. Im surrounded by Steeler fans 24/7. I would love nothing more than a Packer beat down led by one of my favorite Wolverines of all time. Itd be awesome for Charles to be able to add a super bowl ring to his long list of nfl accomplishments.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:59 PM ^
I live in NE OH and good god am I sick of the OSU/Steelers fan. You wanna talk about front runners, didn't hear anything from these folks in the 80's-mid 90's, but now b/c the steelers/tressel are good, I have to deal with this BS all day everday. Here we go!!!
January 24th, 2011 at 12:06 AM ^
Dude it sucks. The worst part is the Steeler fans HATE them when they are bad. Last year they wanted the coaching staff fired and how Big Ben sucks and all this other shit. It irritates me so much. I had to delete my facebook account because of all the nonsense Steeler fans were writing. It's crazy. At least my friends who are Browns fans like them every year. Hell, Im a Chargers fan and they have more talent than anyone and they havent been to a Super Bowl in like 15 years. I like them just as much as I did back then. Shit pisses me off. Sorry for the rant.
January 24th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
You guys should take a look around CBus these days. I'm amazed at how many Steelers jackets I see every day at the store or on the street. I guess the incredibly gritty Browns/Bengals question is too much to handle anymore.
January 24th, 2011 at 1:58 AM ^
Many of the people you're talking about will bet a lot of money in response to any offer to wager. Cultivate this. Monday morning, the first thing you tell everyone is that Green Bay will be favored ("by at least 3"). Be smug about it. Say you're just about the biggest Aaron Rogers fan going: you wish to God he'd gone to Michigan.
That will get them really talking.
Then, when the lines come out, and you were right, you'll have all kinds of conversations.
You'll have to be careful: there are three OSU grads on Green Bay's defense, including AJ Hawk (ee). The OSU Truebluds might just agree with you. But, play it right, and you could make a lot of money (i.e., get them to give you GB + 7. They'll do it.)
But, will they pay up?
January 24th, 2011 at 7:35 AM ^
get a ring also, but Lamarr is from my hometown. I don't think Rodgers will be able to stand up to the pressure. He looked real good until yesterday and the Steelers will bring the heat. Big Ben's faced it all year so I would put my money on a second ring for Woodley.
January 24th, 2011 at 11:37 AM ^
I don't hate the Steelers, but I would also love for Woodson to get that ring! Finally!
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
Hoping that our Michigan Men proudly announce their alma mater during the introductions..
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
Michigan has a MICHIGAN MAN now so all the alumni are gonna make sure they ALWAYS SAY IM FROM MICHIGAN
/s
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
to win this one. Woodley already has one and Woodson has been playing his whole career trying to get one and doesn't have much left.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
Sorry, but you're not the 2009 NFL defensive POY and not have much left.
January 24th, 2011 at 2:08 AM ^
Five forced fumbles and 76 unassisted tackles in 2010. CDub's still a major force.
Packers all the way. No hate for the Steelers. I'm in KC now, but lived many years in the Detroit area. Always felt like Pitt was a lot like Detroit (maybe not so much anymore).
But, of course I want to see the greatest defensive college player ever (see: Heisman) win a Lombardi trophy.
Then GB will get fat&happy and let the Lions squeak by them.
(On another OT note: figures the Lions are more ready than anytime in 12 years; and there won't be any games to play.)
January 24th, 2011 at 9:36 AM ^
but the man is 34 years old. I say he has about 4 more years at most, and I contrast that with Woodley who will have plenty of more chances because he is only 26.
Therefore, I'd like to see Woodson win one while the chance is this good and may not come again.
January 24th, 2011 at 11:38 AM ^
Might be the perfect capstone to a great career.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
though it's nice to have the choice.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
Don't forget about Larry Foote.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
I got Michigan, baby. The Maize and Blue for the win!
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
... I root against Big Ben for obvious reasons. I'll take the Pack in a 2-0 victory.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
Woodson all the way. Love Woodley, but Woodson probably should have played in the SB with the Raiders (I know, Tuck Rule with Brady - too many great UM players in the pros, somebody has to lose) and it would be a better story, IME, if the Pack won instead of the Steelers again.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:46 PM ^
Still one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen... And thus my Avatar
January 24th, 2011 at 12:11 AM ^
Woodson did play in the SB with the Raiders
January 24th, 2011 at 12:13 AM ^
Not to be a stickler, but Woodson did play in a SB with the Raiders (Gruden Bowl). He was injured and his team was overmatched then, so I am glad he gets another shot, and I hope they win.
edit: dangit, beat to it.
January 24th, 2011 at 10:10 AM ^
Woodson had an interception early in that SB that actually lead to the Raiders taking a 3-0 lead. That was the highlight of their day.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
As a Pittsburgh native I say Bring the Wood.
January 24th, 2011 at 2:20 AM ^
Like my dad used to say when we were about to light the camp fire, "Bring the wood, son."
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
Shook his hand at a Saginaw County track meet once. Yeah, I know it's lame, but I'll never forget it. He was my favorite player that year and still is one of my favorite players.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
As I said earlier in the day, Charles Woodson is who I got.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:28 PM ^
I WANT MY RING BABY
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
Lamar has a ring already. If Charles wins this superbowl, he will have gone through his career as
- Mr Ohio High School Football
- NCAA All American, Nagurski, Thorpe, Camp
- Heisman Trophy (only D player ever)
- Multiple Pro bowls and All-Pros
- NFL Defensive MVP
- Superbowl
A superbowl win would absolutely cement his legacy as one of the best football players ever, period. Not to mention he's got a big heart and gives back to those in need. He is the man and I'll be cheering for him to take it home.
On a side note, can anyone think of a player who has won a national title, heisman trophy, and a superbowl ring?
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
Reggie Bush
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:49 PM ^
I've looked and looked but can't seem to find Reggie Bush's name throughout the heisman winners... weird
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:54 PM ^
Well Reggie's Heisman is vacated, so Woodson would be the only guy to accomplish that feat.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:56 PM ^
Excellent point.
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
Tony Dorsett, Marcus Allen and *Reggie Bush (Heisman vacated but I still view him as the Heisman Trophy winner)
January 23rd, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
Not Peyton manning.
January 24th, 2011 at 2:15 AM ^
I know people from Tennessee who finish every post (and every other paragraph) with "Go 'Vols."
Sometimes I'm tempted to say just two words to them: "Charles. Woodson."
