Well in an hour and 15 minutes we made it to 250+ and that's with the LiveBlog slowing down some traffic.

Let's try take 3. For crying out loud we all have no life. Notice I said WE not you.

This is just Les being Les. It was actually him that called into the radio station, but just to screw with everyone before he leaves for Ann Arbor. His next victim is Thad Matta, who he will tackle after swinging down from the rafters tomorrow at Crisler.

I never thought it would come to this, but it's time for a little concoction I call the Good Fat Fucking Night:

A large shot of NyQuil chased with a bomber of Fat Tire. By the time I come out of this coma, surely someone will have taken the job. Right?

WHAT THE FUCK I seriously have work to do can we pleae get a coach today?!  I've already lost my mind many times this year due to Michigan football, I do not want to lose my job as well.

Those who consort with "spread" will be pulverized with a million tiny robotic ball peen hammers and the remains tossed into a black hole disposal unit.

Assuming that Miles stays at LSU, I see a major problem with Brandon's approach.  He is treating this as a corporate hire, with plenty of analysis, a slow and deliberate process and an unreasonable amount deliberation.

In college football coaching searches, you need to act decisively and move quickly, before the media and the coach's current AD has time to screw it up.  With this whole Miles fiasco (and with the JH debacle), DB needed to get out in front of the situation, schedule a meeting ASAP, get an offer on the table and have a decision in a short time table.

Acting with such deliberation allows too much time for the media to pick up the scent and ruin it (Herbie 2007) or for the coach's current AD to go back to his board of trustees, get a new offer approved and work on the coach to stay.

DB is showing that he is not well suited for this job.  From step 1, he has messed up this CC.  If RR were to be fired, he should have been fired in November, but again, DB wanted to stick to his deliberate CEO process.  Then, when RR was fired, he waited until 3 days after the bowl - three more lost recruiting days so that he could follow his process.

EPIC FAIL.

there hasn't really been much media sniff here - lots of speculation, but no real leaks from DB's team at all - so we have no idea what process he's followed.  as a corporate exec, he would have had succession planning outlined, with a list of potential candidates that goes beyond the Grazer and Hokemania.

so the deliberation likely has taken place well before this - its the back room dealing that is going on now

I don't think DB ever thought he would have to fire RichRod. Why else would he have a 4 hour meating to fire him and then hold it over to the next day. I think he gave RR a list of ultimatums about his staff and RR refused to go with it. Thus the cluster fuck ensues.

IMHO - and that Jordy Hultberg dude is a very reliable source for LSU fans. They're satisfied.

You do the Hoke Pokey and you bend yourself over and around. That's what it's all about!

Miles just released this statement!!!!!!

"This this, competition is too great of a change to pass by. My team is my team. They are a hard faught bunch. But your heart goes, it goes to the point where I can't take it. But the opportunity is strong, damn strong. And Bo can not tell you the love I have had. We are passionate, work hard, work faught. But let me tell you this, this one thing. I am sad I had to trade this great win to a greater chance to leave, but the change and love is to far great to let it slip to your grip. Go blue."

of Brandons plane and set new course for the side of the nearest mountain. Then MSC can call Gruden and hire him to be the HC and AD. This guy is single handedly destroying my intestines and he made me scream Fuck off to a small child that happened to look in my window walking down the sidewalk.

Sorry kid.

Please hire a coach soon, please.

based on brian's latest frontpage post, does that mean that:

a. he doesn't believe the lsu side of things reports;

b. he hasn't heard them; or

c. we can draw no conclusions and we are in for more head asplode.

Here is an issue sure to draw opinions on both sides and to tangentially distract from the CC debacle for oh, about 15 seconds.

I am not a fan of the spread, at least not in the way that it is run at the college level.  I know that it can be highly effective, but in watching the NC game, and contrasting the offenses on display with say, Stanford's offense, I found the Stanford offense to be more potent.  Sure, the spread can move the ball well and, as we have seen, rack up tons of yards in a hurry.  But, I continue to notice pure spread teams stuggle with putting the ball in the endzone from the redzone.  We had issues with this and on a number of possessions, so did the teams on display last night.  This difficulty, from what I have seen, becomes pronounced when facing good defenses (I know, obvious and intuitive statement).

So, I hope that whomever we hire runs something that is not a 3-yards and a count of dust offense, but also not a pure spread.  Ideally, I would like to see our next hire run a pro-style spread that allows Denard to stretch the field with his arm strength (and hopefully improved reads and touch), while at the same time opening up running lanes.

Just some F5-induced musings.

It's a little short sighted to draw all those conclusions from just the National
<br>Championship game. I think there is something to be said about the zone read near the goal line because you can press the LOS without the threat of being burned deep. But the reason it was low scoring was because of the month to prepare by defenses. Oregon, specifically got owned at the line, and no matter you're style, that is where a game is always won and lost. Don't forget that Oregon, also laid it pretty hard on that Stanford team. I for one would like to be able to whip out some power runs as well, FWIW.

FIRE DAVE BRANDON!!!!!!!

He fucked this up from the beginning. Welcome back to the early 2000's when 9-3 is a norm and we are still PWN'ed by tO$U. Hoke is a failure of epic proportions.
