US Army All-American HS All-Star Game Bowl Open Thread

I have to believe we're going to hear something today or at least by the basketball game tomorrow. Right? Right? I've already had like 7 Diet Dr. Peppers this morning. This must come to an end!
EDIT: To be clear, it isn't even 10 o'clock where I'm at. So yeah, I am not taking this well at all.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:08 PM ^
This way I never have to run to the bathroom.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:38 PM ^
No, it's a cardigan, but thanks for noticing!
January 8th, 2011 at 12:26 PM ^
...is still out.
We can all look forward to the recruiting process... next year.

"Can you keep it down? I'm in session."

Have not seen any Tom VH posts lately?

When you don't have a coaching staff to recruit

it will be Auburn for Frost.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:16 PM ^
No it doesn't.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:25 PM ^
The Rivals mods are pretty friggin certain.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:45 PM ^
The Rivals mods haven't exactly been infalliable the last couple of months.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:56 AM ^
For as stressful as this coaching situation has been I am not too dissappointed with how it has affected recruiting. No one, besides Dee who we knew was gone, has officially decomitted. I still have a good feeling about Frost today, and even if he committs elsewhere I believe we can reel him back in the next few weeks. I think Lyons will go to UCLA. But I believe we have a chance if distance to the west coast seems like too much for his family.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:57 AM ^
there isn't really any reason for Michigan fans to watch this one...
January 8th, 2011 at 11:57 AM ^
of course.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:17 PM ^
Is Frost no longer announcing today?
January 8th, 2011 at 12:28 PM ^
but, according to Rivals, it's not going to go our way.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:23 PM ^
Yeah, I think I'll sit this one out. Had enough masochistic pain in the last 3 years, and especially in the last week.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:58 AM ^
I am hopeful of at least one commitment - Frost. Lyons, I am not so sure, but either would make my day. Both, and I am having a celebratory shot of Absente.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:01 PM ^
FWIW, Rivals predicts neither one of them to come here, and given the situation I don't blame them.
TomVH also said earlier today that parents of both are concerned about them picking today. Suggests that they could still be open once (if) we have a new coaching staff.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:59 AM ^
I listened till 2am to those guys last night...I could not believe how many Michigan callers they had on the air...
January 8th, 2011 at 12:01 PM ^
Wayne Lyons and Kris Frost's parents have expressed concern with them announcing today. We'll see if it affects anything after the game.
Per TomVH's twitter.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:03 PM ^
Ya if they choose Michigan during the game, great, but if not I won't sweat it till signing day. I saw RR reel in Dorsey who was doing the gator chomp all game last year. Anything is possible.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:09 PM ^
I just hope the next coach can keep the recruits we have, as well as the players on the team. Keep attrition to a minimum.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:25 PM ^
Yeah, good luck with that. This is by far my biggest concern. Unfortunately, unless we get a big name (is Gruden the only remotely realistic option remaining unless Miles lied to his players last night?) I have a bad feeling that we're looking at mass attrition again and another rebuild project.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:34 PM ^
Let alone handle it. Everyone on this board has earned their fandom endurance badge, regardless of their opinion on the situation.
I think all of us would agee that we would be very upset to watch our young talent squandered because the new guy won't adapt.
January 8th, 2011 at 1:21 PM ^
My worry isn't that the new guy won't adapt, it's that it won't be a big enough name or a guy with a history of success (I'm thinking particulalry of Hoke, even though he seems like a great guy) to impress our recruits and keep our players.
January 8th, 2011 at 1:04 PM ^
Thanks for that?
January 8th, 2011 at 12:10 PM ^
I look forward to when recruiting is what we can fret over instead of a coaching search that lacks any obvious candidates.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:18 PM ^
I'm looking forward to when we don't have to fret over either and the only thing we worry about is which recruit to take becasue they all wnat to come here! One can dream can't they?
January 8th, 2011 at 12:13 PM ^
I'm going to lock this thread, because a liveblog should be appearing on the front page shortly.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:14 PM ^
Have some hope fellas...today will get a good day!
January 8th, 2011 at 12:14 PM ^
HA! I'm actually not, because logging in on the back end is still all screwy, but please direct your Army Game-related comments to the liveblog.
January 8th, 2011 at 12:16 PM ^
know of a way to watch this online other than channelsurfing? Does NBC have a good feed anywhere?
January 8th, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
I read that he added LSU recently. Does that mean he'd consider M if Leslie came?
January 8th, 2011 at 12:41 PM ^
Haha you called him Leslie..
January 8th, 2011 at 12:31 PM ^
Is going to be a big day here. I am hopeful that we get Frost and/or Lyons today and then maybe even hear more about a coach later. I just read on http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/MessageTopic.asp?p=23767079&Pg=2 that a donor told someone that Miles is out of LSU by 5pm today and heard from another source that LSU has a possible replacement already in mind. Could be a big day for the Maize and Blue or at least I hope it is. Go Blue!!!
January 8th, 2011 at 1:54 PM ^
My man, DeAnthony Arnett should have been a Chippewa. Alot of gamblin' up there.
January 8th, 2011 at 3:46 PM ^
Man, is it fun watching all these one-time Michigan leans pick other schools.
Though I agree Rich Rod had to go, DB screwed the pooch with his poor timing on making the decision. The class is going to be rounded out with MAC-level recruits... not the top-tier blue chips we desperately need.
Thanks, DB!
