Obviously not Michigan material.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
I have no idea why you'd go to the Vols over Michigan and USC. Guess he found something he liked, can't blame the kid.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
Two words: Hoestesses PERIOD
November 11th, 2010 at 8:21 AM ^
Was he that excited to earn his red wings?
November 10th, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
What did he say about Dooley having coached his favorite receiver, Randy Moss?
Wiki doesn't show Dooley ever beeing at Marshall...
November 10th, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
UT's WR coach has a pretty impressive NFL resume coaching WR's like Moss if I remember correctly. He is going to UT for the WR coach, not Dooley.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
Good luck to DeAnthony, have fun being part of a mediocre SEC program and being shit on by Florida, Bama, and LSU for years to come.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
You sound like the jilted ex.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
such bad Blue Blues tomorrow morning from that tease. He didnt have dreads though so that would have been akward.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
Hate to say it, but doubt you'd find too many MSU guys saying 'at least it wasn't UM'.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:35 PM ^
good point, it is the type of statement people say when they lose out on something. Even though MSU had more expectation of landing this guy, MSU is far more versed at losing than Michigan and would surely rationalize this away as saying 'at least it wasn't UM'
November 10th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
Sparty trolls on this site have been saying things like "Arnett is in the bag for us" for quite a while now. I think it has more to do with Arnett being rubbed in our faces as some type of MSU lock.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:45 PM ^
Very first post on "The Only Colors" Deanthony Arnett announcement blog: (Sorry, I don't know how to make this font smaller...)
But at least he didn’t pick UM or USC. I’ll be rooting for him at Tennessee.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
I don't think that's the issue at all–while IGGcitable may be bitter, I for one didn't really care where he went as long as it wasn't U-M. For me it's more about kids who are already hyped and receiving lots of media attention being allowed even more. Fun is one thing: being able to announce your important choice in front of friends and family, and celebrating that choice, but having your own press conference?
Additionally, I don't think it's really a negative to be in the final running, or to have been mentioned at one of these. For me it seems more like a platform for a kid to garner further attention, not embarrass other schools.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:37 PM ^
Why?
Shitty program, mediocre education, far away from home, Knoxville isn't exactly the most happenin' place in the world..... Makes no sense.
To each his own I guess.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:17 PM ^
The only thing Tennesse has going for it is that Knoxville is actually a pretty fun place, and the girls are beautiful. But other than that, the team sucks, the coach sucks, the school sucks.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
That is one awesome city. TN is TN - it has hot chicks, but also Murphesboro. Bad team now, but great history (that sounds familiar). TN football is more revered than the pro team or anything else in that state, except for homemade moonshine!
November 10th, 2010 at 8:49 PM ^
I'm sitting at home on the couch right now. It's just okay.
Also, it's three and half hours away from Knoxville.
November 10th, 2010 at 10:03 PM ^
I actually live right next to Knoxville and totally agree that it is all about UT football around here, not sure what Murphesboro is, but there is a Murfreesboro. I am a transplant (military brat) that ended up here because I met one of those "hot chicks."
November 10th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
and probably has more to do with MSU needing some WR and with us, would have been more of an additive to an already strong point of the team.. Anyway, kid did a good job entertaining me on an otherwise mundane Tuesday night so I'll just wish him well in that gaudy orange.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:54 PM ^
MSU is fairly solid at WR and will be fine without him. That being said, a guy like Arnett who could stretch the field is more critical in their type of offense then ours, so the loss is tougher for them.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
We'll never have to play him. I'm OK with this.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:42 PM ^
Clearly, team performance did not factor into his decision making.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:47 PM ^
Charlie Baggett is why he is going to Knoxville. Quite the impressive list of WR's he has coached over the years bewteen the NFL and Michigan State.

November 10th, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
Good luck to Deanthony!
Nothing but pure class from the animals @ spartantailgate.... Last night he was hilarious and inventive, today he is an immature douche bag and they hope he gets injured and/or never wins a game while at UT. Too funny
November 10th, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
I want those 10 min of my life back
November 10th, 2010 at 7:48 PM ^
Simms is going to love him.
November 10th, 2010 at 10:05 PM ^
I say Simms looses his starting job to Freshman Tyler Bray, tall dude but skinny, everyone here (Knoxville) has been waiting for the second coming of Peyton Manning.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
Tennessee sucks. Oh well.
November 10th, 2010 at 7:59 PM ^
Poor girl.
I feel kinda bad for watching this like 20 times in a row and laughing every time.
November 10th, 2010 at 9:24 PM ^
It's a good thing that mic is padded, or she might have lost a couple of teeth.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
Is the board font looking weird to anyone else or is it just me?
November 10th, 2010 at 8:07 PM ^
I want my serifs back
November 10th, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
Only on page 4 of this thread for me. The rest of the board is normal.
November 11th, 2010 at 9:38 AM ^
I emailed Brian about this. Someone copy and pasted a quote, which also copied some CSS with it.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
Mark Dantonio doesn't care about in-state recruiting!!!!!
November 10th, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
You know a recruit is gifted when, as soon as he commits to a non-rival school everyone takes a big sigh of relief and say's atleast it wasn't Sparty or OSU.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:07 PM ^
Tennessee - with the coach that taught the team how to take a shower?
No accounting for taste.
Best part of this is that Sparty has to eat it here.
Schadenfreude goes down so good.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:07 PM ^
The McRib I just ate was much like that annoucement, The best part was the anticipation and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:09 PM ^
... (South Beach) Tennessee? Are you kidding me? Good riddance.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
I hope he had fun with the recruitment process. He better of put as much time into his selection as he did into all the misdirection.
November 10th, 2010 at 8:22 PM ^
Sam Webb called this on WTKA this morning. He didn't say he had a "gut feeling," but he did say he expected Arnett to go to UT.
November 10th, 2010 at 9:09 PM ^
Damn you bing and your embedded search bar!
November 10th, 2010 at 9:30 PM ^
With UM's strong and young recievers its nothing to get worked up over and I honestly didn't want to see him in a winged helmet anyway, but good luck to him.
November 10th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
I can't believe I got sucked into all this. It's as bad as watching Jersey Shore and being really into Snooki. What's happening to me?
November 10th, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
tennessee is dominating in-state recruiting!
