Denard's long ball touch pass to Roundtree,
Jrs. side steppin' TD,
D stop to end game!

my favorite moment was right after the first TD.
i looked at the game clock (14:46), got out a calculator and figured out that at that torrid scoring pace, michigan was on pace for an 1,800 point game!

Standing outside the fitting room at a clothing store while my wife tried on dresses and shirts, feverishly trying to get a signal on my cell phone for a score update, seeing Illinois score and going for two, then refreshing again and seeing "67-65: Final" and unabashedly fist-pumping. Then waiting 15 more minutes to tell her, at which point she said "that's great. Um, I'm going to just get the sweater and this shirt."

so many great plays in a game that will be remembered, for Michigan winning a thrilling 3-ot game to become bowl-eligible since 2007. Roundtree on a 75 yarder was amazing. Great play-calling. C Avery with a huge tackle on Scheelhasse. Hemingway with the "whoop whoop" moves on the illini defenders. What about the half time show with the band "wizard of oz" watching the ohio bobcat tackle brutus! (I could watch it over and over again) How about gritty Ray Vinopal on a huge 3rd and 1 tackle. Way to hit the hole kid! Forcier bringing the team back with the Stonum catch. Oh the magnificent reverse we all witnessed, and seeing that block laid out! For me it was Jonas Mouton leaping over the illini guy trying to cut block him, and watching the whole defense coming after Nathan Scheelhasse. Seeing all the fans go crazy, and RR smiling. The Team singing the Victors was pricless.

first snap of the game, because that's exactly how that play is supposed to work. And we've seen it a bunch of times this year. it's no fluke.

This play was early in the game, but when I saw it, I texted my dad and said "Michigan is deperate, we are going to win!"
It was on one of the earlier drives, and Denard handed the ball off to Vincent Smith, and as Smith ran to the left, Denard burst forward and laid out to block the Defensive end (or linebacker, I can't remember exactly) who was scraping down. We only got like four yards on the play, but I knew we were going to win the game then.
I then left to play a game of tackle football with my friends, and came back in time for the very last play.... (I know, priorities, but beating second VD was very important to keep 1st VD pride).
But that play was by far my favorite (though Junior's dancing touchdown was awesome), simply because it embodied the desperation that Michigan had.

Does anyone else think that had he stayed healthy, purely from a physical skill set, that Hemingway would have had a legitimate shot at the #1 jersey? Just keep it going JR!
November 8th, 2010 at 11:49 AM ^
Yeah, but the #21 jersey ain't bad, either.

The defense forcing 6 punts and 1 takeaway. Maybe a sign of better times ahead, let's hope they don't have to start at midfield all the time.

...what with all the offensive execution and the impressive defensive stops. I would say the first play brought the first smile to my face. The second came on the surprise reverse on the return, (huge grin) At last I would say the bull rush on the last play to seal the vicory.
Holy Crap. I haven't felt that elated since Henne to Manningham vs PSU 2005.
My Dad and I were literally jumping for joy like two happy school girls.

With a smile on my face!

The WIN!!! Going bowling!

The first play on offense and the last play on defense were both great. Hemingway's dodging of the 3 defenders on his way to a TD also aweome.

But Kenny Demens had a play where he came off his block, flowed down the line, and made a very impressive open-field tackle. Broke the play up singlehandedly and will prob be a +2-3 in the UFR; real glad he'll be around a few years.

Courtney Avery's open field tackle.

Hemingway miraculously catching that tipped ball during the second OT, Tate being Tate in general...but my all-time favorite part of the game was the feeling right after we won, and hugging this random guy standing next to me until the row behind us fell forward and we all just collapsed into a big pile of ridiculously happy, screaming Michigan fans. Priceless.
November 9th, 2010 at 12:47 AM ^
The instant emotion from the Michigan bench when Scheelhaase went down. It was a mix of extreme rage of hapiness and justification of shit finally panning out with all the work put in and negativity surrounding the program.
Go. Blue.
Michigan- 56 200 passing yds/ 100 yd rushing game for Denard. T-Force comes in early to do impeccable
Purdue- 17! Defense finds "swagger" and "grit" and almost repeats UConn performance.

I liked the post-game player presser a lot: "I'm hungry!"
The very first play from scrimmage pleased me immensely.
The very last play happily reminded me of all the big games we've won over the years when the "D" made a great play - nostalgia is almost always fun, isnt it?

Caught the tipped pass. I simultaneously shit my pants, died, was resurrected, fell in love, and then was intoxicated.

I think I hurt myself yelling! I was so happy for the defense.

possibly the fact that the bed intruder song was played in the big house, and not only that it was played but you could also hear it loud and clear on the ESPN broadcast.
