The ONLY time I even considered rooting for Sparty was when Magic was lighting up the court for Jud. And I never liked Miller Lite until Bubba enlightened us about the easy-opening cans. |

Hi, Even though its painfully obvious that we just aren't all that good (watching IL vs TX after our game was over seemed like watching a different level of basketball!) these guys will sure be fun to watch. Perhaps it's a bit of a stretch (hehe, I just made a pun...) to compare them to our over-achieving FB team - specifically, our hard-working but woefully young & overmatched "D" - but Beilein sure seems to have them similarly motivated! And - they are FAR from being talentless: Hardaway looks like he'll soon have us not hardly noticing that Manny is gone. Novak is not just a hard worker - he is a genuinely talented ballplayer. And we sure have some good shooters - that Smotcryz (sp??!) kid reminds me of Pitsnogle! (again - sp???) If only we had more size/bulk in the middle. I'm afraid that many Big 10 teams will just pound us to death. |

I moved from Ann Arbor to TN. I almost never liked any Ohioans before, but now 2 of my favorite neighbors are from Columbus! I couldn't believe it, either. However, I do pretty much avoid them during November. |

Right after the game mercifully ended, I thought: "Wow, this is similar to what we used to do so often - WIN even though we were looking ahead." It's a good thing to be good enough again to have some games, like the next 2, be winnable AND be bigger than games against the littlest of the "Little 8." Now, on Sunday morning, I still feel that way. We WON while not playing our best. It's so wonderful ("tremendous" even...) to be able to do that again! GOBLUE!!!! |

I hope it's not taken - I couldn't find it |

I liked the post-game player presser a lot: "I'm hungry!"
The very first play from scrimmage pleased me immensely.
The very last play happily reminded me of all the big games we've won over the years when the "D" made a great play - nostalgia is almost always fun, isnt it? |

Perhaps the Zen Master has instructed Denard NOT to run in those situations precisely so we can surprise the Bucknuts by having him run like Vince when we beat them this year! |

I read this board daily, but seldom my thoughts/opinions - which is quite obvious if you look at my mgopoints total! Usually, even when I think I have a useful idea to add to the conversation, one of you amaizeingly literate & intelligent mgoblog readers posts something similar. Whatever. The idea that I most want to add today is about older men & how difficult it is for them to effectively motivate kids. For all of RR's perceived & real shortcomings, somehow he manages to keep our boys working HARD! This is decidedly no small thing. Motivating youths is an incredibly difficult thing to consistently accomplish. Rodriguez sure seems to have this ability. To discard the man would be plain stupid!
