It is truly heartwarming to see our basketball and hockey teams out-work and out-hustle the opps. This is partially a function of conditioning.
Damn, our "boys of winter" sure work hard!
In hockey, it is whole-body excruciatingly painful to keep working at the end of a shift, yet Pearson's guys just push through it. And I guaran-fuckin-tee it: you'll NEVER see any of Beilein's boys "dog it."
***Snark alert!!*** - unlike those Seminole quitters.
Dang, I can almost feel the "negs" already: if only St. Jim could get his boys to play this hard...
My church here in E TN is chock full of Sparty fans. I wonder if I'll mention that the Ramblers (cool building Loyola has there in Southfield) have more NCAA wins in the last 2 WEEKS than Fizzo has in the last 3 YEARS. So far this year I've just contented myself with telling some of the Sparty fans that they simply need better guard play to win in the bigtime.
HELP!! What do I say to all the damn Ohioans?
But my very best friends there are Chicagoans. What do I tell them? That Loyola should be in the Big Ten?
It looks like we have an object lesson here on the value of playing HARD. There must be a sermon in there somewhere.
heh
Who has it better than us?!?!?
Maybe we can be ahead 24-12 at the first media TO next Saturday?
by our coach when asked about Mo in the postgame interview:
"He makes some of the stupidest fouls ever...puts them in the bonus early. I need to figure out some way in German to communicate with him. But don't get me wrong - I love the guy."
It was CLEARLY a moving screen that got that MD guy the open top-of-the-key three at the (almost) end of the game.
Also - how is it even possible that after a couple thousand replays of the Hill/Laetner (sp??) miracle that a decent Big Ten coach would NOT know to cover the in-bounder?
There I was, peacefully minding my own business & happily anticipating the first "real'/Top 15 matchup this month. Then I had to cringe inwardly as I was finishing the dishes in the kitchen & heard the dulcet tones of Mack Brown!!
He's not going to do the Orange Bowl, is he? PLEASE - someday tell me it ain't so.
Has there been a study similar to Brymer's regarding the question of refs often getting intimidated by the home crowd & thus not throwing flags against the hometeam?
I'd certainly be interested in the results of THAT investigation.
I'd truly enjoy seeing those Pasadena mountains at sunset again. Starting to get un-hungover & looking forward to watching yet another major bowl game - what could be better? Either U$C or Washington or even Colorado would be fine opps, although tradition-wise I ofc would rather play the Trojans.
Hopefully the refs will be required to only award TDs if the ball actually gets into the end zone.

But not particularly measurable.

"Beilien Certainty Principle."
SCIENCE!
to beat Sparty.
Fun to watch Izzo implode.

All said while grinning.
***Probably not a correct direct quote***
in the 1st half
with Lunardi blathering on & on & on about...
specifically, who the hell knows?
I had a Dakich-induced mute going on.
Fun game to watch even w/o sound!!
kept the fuckeyes in the game.
Should have been a 25+ pt blowout.
But wasn't it fun to see Moe all fired up like that?
"we're all adults here"
doesn't truly work in online environments.
...we're headed into more."
Beilien sure keeps this customer satisfied!
I guess I have been inaffectual for years.

Nonetheless, I am certain that having Grant back on our OL will truly be a game-affecter.
heh

(Class of '78)
My Dad assembled my bro (class of '74)
and me a dresser when I wasn't even a teenager yet -
and I'm using it to this very day!!
What's a cam screw?
(Sounds a bit kinky...)
but Baylor's uni's look even worse
as if we're in a Vonnegut novel -
I'm hoping RichRod can get the team up for MSU.
the TwilightZone?
heh
a missing "/s" there, my friend?
The first time I ever saw it was in E Quad with the RA for 4th Floor Hinsdale.
What happened to him in the NBA?
had a great RB named Rob Little.
Thanks, FUX
not a word - what about "chimping" or "chumping?"
I believe chumping refers to the style of certain former NFD coaches.
Chimping might be about a movie series.
Chemping is actually close to being about a Marx Brother.
not to play on Yom Kippur anyway.
will be a fun read this week.
to see Navarre ranked higher than Brady
but, oddly enough - some seasons are shorter than others.
And try as I might - I just cannot stay awake for even a few innings.
I'll always love the game and the Tigers are still right up there with my other all-time favorites (guess what other teams are up there?)
Just please don't make me watch MLB before September!
My completely unsubstantiated opinion is that a BTT Finals appearance would be necessary. Just beating the Spoilerschnooks wouldn't quite be enough.
but didn't Sparty go 3-9 last year? Wouldn't they fit your as long as it falls between weeks 3 and 9 parameter?
Oh, now I see what you did there!
got nothin' on "Tom & Pete"
I wonder what Pete thought?
Who plays his wife?
that is correct. Sparty did indeed go 3-9, while NFD went 4-8.
but what in tarnation is "BTB?"
Surely (but please don't call me Shirley) it's not "Business To Business."
***Najee*** was the name of one of the pirates in that film.
I doubt if that means much of anything.
My all-time favorite score

That QB in Hawkin's video looks pretty good, too. Anyway know anything about him? What's his name, for instance.

I'd certainly be interested in the results of THAT investigation.
But yes - it IS great to be a Meechigan Wolverine
And yes - Jimmy & what he brings to the table are indeed exciting
and yes - you get an upvote!
Meyer and his band of crooks better watch out in next year's Game, and I'm sure they're having nightmares already about '18 & '19 and beyond.

Now - who do we contact, and how do we do so?
I just saw the 1995 Game - too bad Timmy B wasn't that good
The only way it could have been better would be if Notre F***ing Dame had lost.
According to Wikipedia, after The Game in 1968 Woody DID say "because I couldn't go for 3."
Howevah, the 2 pt try DID fail.
I don't always guess, but when I do I choose that score.
Notre Dame is known in my household (and even in my Mom & Dad's!!) as Notre F***ing Dame.
I remember Ufer going on & on about how sweet it will be to beat ND again - right in the middle of calling The Game.
I didn't notice Kelly having apoplexy/turning bright red in the face last night, though. Was I just not watching closely enough?
That's what champions do - turn a good break into a winning rally.
But I can't help but wonder: is the lack of singing Muppets for our super-duper women a Title lX violation?
I'd probably get penalized
go ahead and ask this here:
if we win out, do we get a "New Year's Six" bowl?
