Tate and the Sideline Guy Revisited
The guy that Tate slammed into on the sideline apparently works at ABC 7 Detroit news. He interviewed Tate after the game, and Tate's reaction was priceless. Watch the Video on the linked page. I would embed if I wasn't an idiot. Great, great, amazing game.

What a great kid - team player and all. He who stays.

The Tate-Denard Dynamic is very similar to the Kolb-Vick dynamic and so far it is working for both the Eagles and the Wolverines.

"Oh no, I got you!"
Ha. Thanks for the link.

Great reaction. It was a great game, and I'm sure everyone is a little better about the collision with a victory in hand.

"I'm just glad we won...especially for these seniors, they deserve to go to a bowl game."
Tate's got class.

totally slammed - hurt to watch it - glad he got up

Stopped bleeding at that point? :-P

ouch.

If you could zoom in on it, and make it more clear....It would make an excellent "Derp" poster
November 6th, 2010 at 8:34 PM ^
It is very subtle but the ref was right on it.
#9 gave him a little shove to send him hard into the sidelines. Intentional as hell as it doesn't take much to go completely out of control.

He has really grown as a person. I loved how he mentioned getting the Seniors to a bowl and was all about the team. Hopefully that dispels some of the bogus rumors about him not being a team player.

Tate was going to be an integral part of the team, no question. I'm glad his maturity is now becoming the equal of his talent and his swagger.

In listening to the segment on Channel 7, apparently Jim Brandstatter gave Don Shane a ride home because he was still a little wonky from the hit. Shane got several stitches, too.

I really thought the, "See ya!" at the end was funny. Maybe both of them were a bit loopy after the hit.
November 6th, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
I thought that was pretty funny too.

It wasn't Rosenberg or Synder.

And It wasn't Lewan or Campbell

Posts like this are why each of us should be allowed one 500 point pos bang per year. I would have just spent mine!

I wish I could give you more mgopoints.

drew sharp or foster. foster would at least be a soft landing.
November 6th, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
The shoulder probably would have been lowered, and they wouldn't have gotten up to do the interview.
November 6th, 2010 at 8:17 PM ^
Didn't Snyder attend U of M and work for the Daily?
November 6th, 2010 at 9:08 PM ^
Rosenberg and Sharp too.

<br>(Wojo too on a more positive note).

to all alumni everywhere. Rosenberg & Synder deserves to get Andrew Shirvell treatment...not allowed to touch foot on campus.
November 6th, 2010 at 7:59 PM ^
I was really kind of hoping it was Rosenberg, not going to lie.
EDIT: Hivemind!
November 6th, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
Glad he is ok. I think he only weighs about 150. That kind of looked like a helmut to no helmut hit. Ouch.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:58 PM ^
not in the NFL - that would be about 50K right there!
November 6th, 2010 at 8:48 PM ^
Apparently taking the wings off a kid's helmet and putting him 3rd string DOES, in fact, serve a purpose. Way to go Tate. Damn fine job today, son.

Tate rage?
November 6th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
What a difference a few weeks make, huh? From a sulking on the sideline to a brusing on the sideline. Great kid, great attitude, I'm happey for him and the way he comes in and makes the most of his opportunities!! Great game from our great kids!! Smiles, high fives, hugs all around!
November 6th, 2010 at 9:19 PM ^
Love his reaction, and even better, his comments about the team. I like seeing that.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:34 PM ^
I like to see that the reporter wasn't terribly injured given the circumstances but I love Tate's attitude even more. He seemed truly happy to help the team win and he was proud of it. We need guys like that on the team, starters, backups, or walk-ons. They all need that attitude.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
When he threw the TD to Stonum it made you remember that RR's decision to start Denard at the beginning of the season was a difficult one. Tate obviously has a lot of skill. The play-by-play guy spent a lot of time, though, dwelling on the fact that he passes up the open receiver underneath to make a harder completion down the field.
Hope Denard can play next week but you have to still feel pretty good about our chances even if he can't.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:30 PM ^
Tate. This team will need him in everygame from here on out and all of next year for sure. Denards game is running and he is human he gets hurt and we need two great QB's. Hopefully they can redshirt Devin.

With the hit.
