I think the Lions game is blacked out...
October 31st, 2010 at 1:09 PM ^
Anyone out of market want to comment on what the stands look like? I'm assuming desolate.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
Foster tweeted that they were 7k tickets short, but looks like 40k short. But Foster has a tendency to exaggerate, just a little.

Any suggestions on Steve Breaston for fantasy lineup today as my flex? Supposed to be his first game back, but he is still questionable. ESPN says rust and Max Hall is bad combo.
Only option I have is to start Darren Sproles from SD instead. He's good for 2-5 points on average, but he's going up against Tennessee's defense, which has been VERY good of late.
So Sproles or Breaston?
Yes, I normally have other options, but a couple of bye weeks has me short on options. Addai is hurt, Baltimore is on bye, etc.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:17 PM ^
Or maybe it won't matter. Guy is starting two players listed as out in NO's Thomas and Bush as well as Bear's RB Forte on his bye. Looking over his last 3 weeks, he hasn't adjusted the lineup at all.
My other league matchup has a guy starting 4 bye players. I have slightly more faith in that being fixed. This guy is on a 5 game winning streak

Someone picked him up after his first big game. RBs are tough to come by in the league. The guy I'm playing has 6(!) RBs and only 3 WRs. A couple others have the same sort of thing. I was wondering why I was able to get steals at other positions in the lower rounds. The longer this season has gone, the more I understand why.

Lions D-Line's really showing up today
October 31st, 2010 at 1:20 PM ^
Turf monster has had a solid start as well today. The lions d-line is awesome to watch, all 4 guys can get to the quarterback.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:19 PM ^
2 sacks for the Lions defense so far (although one was just McNabb tripping). The defense is looking great and now the offense is marching. so great to have Stafford back.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:24 PM ^
I think it's only blacked out in a 75 mile radius of the station. I don't think anyone outside the I-69 radius of Detroit would have a problem.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:25 PM ^
Last time a game was blacked out I couldn't get it in Ann Arbor, and I think the blackout occurred in the Lansing and Kalamazoo areas also. Basically any area with a major population couldn't watch the game.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:30 PM ^
Yeah, now that I look at it, it's any station that broadcasts into an area within 75 miles. That means Lansing stations that reach down I-96 would be withing 75 miles. Therefore Lansing couldn't show it either.
No idea on K-zoo unless their broadcasts reach all the way to Jackson. That seems a bit odd, but who knows.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:32 PM ^
We have it fine here in Kalamazoo.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:23 PM ^
Stafford just threw up a prayer to CJ and it was picked in the endzone. Argh.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:35 PM ^
It was just an underthrown ball, most likely due to rust, that was well covered by DeAngelo Hall.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:39 PM ^
Jim Schwartz just challenged whether a punt was a touchback or downed at the 1. In the first quarter. Of a 0-0 game. He lost, of course.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:00 PM ^
I didn't think that challenge was unreasonable. It looked to me like it was downed at the one, and given the field position game this has turned into, it could have made a huge difference if it were overturned.

I remember when I wished that the Lions had Michigan's defense. Times have changed.
October 31st, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
The lions are weak at LB and not entirely awful at CB and great at DL... I'd take that for Michigan right now. not to mention special teams. Dong punch.
October 31st, 2010 at 1:55 PM ^
i've got that stupid son gstuck in my head.
YA GOTTA SNAAAATCH AND GRAB IT. SNAAAAATCH AND GRAB IT

What do you guys think about games being played in International Venues like London? I would be interested in going but for a student like me it can be extremely expensive. £70 - 100 for a ticket. £30-40 for travel (since I don't live near London). £40-50 spending while there. 1 day off work. Far too much effort to just watch a football game where I don't have any attachment to the teams involved. I do know a lot of people in the American Football community in the UK who are going to the game though.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
The matchup they have is horrid. Denver vs San Fran, EW.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:07 PM ^
Yeah forgot to mention that. They have had some good matchups tho - Dolphins Giants in 07, Chargers Saints in 08, Pats in 09.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
...NFL London game is a prime example why I no longer waste much time on the NFL.
0-3 DEN-SF and total yardage 128-146 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter?
For me that's a pretty strong indictment of the NFL's steaming hot "product" these days.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:11 PM ^
got picked by trent... i love NFL redzone...
October 31st, 2010 at 2:15 PM ^
Suh is fuckin awesome
October 31st, 2010 at 3:12 PM ^
Go Lions
October 31st, 2010 at 2:17 PM ^
Suh is in beast mode today.

The Super Bowl commercial with the 4 geezers is pretty cool.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
damn, that was six...
it kills me when the lions defense is considerably better than Michigans :(
October 31st, 2010 at 2:36 PM ^
I like this kid's potential, but he looks very very rusty today. Which I suppose should be suspected since he hasn't played since the first game, but man he had Calvin for 6 and underthrew it badly.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:38 PM ^
It is so weird to see a defense who can make some stops. Actually the Lions defense looks very good.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:43 PM ^
I think they're a shutdown corner away and maybe a MLB. Though I know the staff really likes Levy when he's healthy.
If they continue to struggle, record wise, I'm hoping for Peterson or Amukamara. Or a LT to be figured out later.
October 31st, 2010 at 3:14 PM ^
And a CB in Spievey who has a lot of size. I'd also like to see Stephen Peterman shipped out of town. The guy commits more stupid penalties than anyone on the lions, and we all know that's saying something.
October 31st, 2010 at 2:54 PM ^
He has seven punts. Stafford isn't looking like the #1. Two weeks is bad for the state of Michigan teams. Defense is tenacious
October 31st, 2010 at 3:13 PM ^
If the Lions eliminated some of these penalties...
October 31st, 2010 at 3:16 PM ^
I love what pressure they're able to generate. Much different than what I see on saturdays. I hate the penalties though.
October 31st, 2010 at 3:26 PM ^
Damn you Burleson. HOLD ONTO THE DAMN BALL!!
October 31st, 2010 at 3:26 PM ^
HOLD ON TO THE BALL!
October 31st, 2010 at 3:43 PM ^
looked out of place that entire drive.
October 31st, 2010 at 3:53 PM ^
Same old Lions?
October 31st, 2010 at 4:03 PM ^
apparently not...?
October 31st, 2010 at 3:54 PM ^
Our kick/punt coverage has been shit today. Stop kicking to that guy.
October 31st, 2010 at 4:03 PM ^
Alphonso with the pick! He was a really good pick up by Mayhew.
October 31st, 2010 at 4:14 PM ^
He really has been a great pick up, I'd like to see what Bobby Carpenter (another former first round pick) with another week or too of practice, could do. This defense is really playing some good football.
October 31st, 2010 at 4:21 PM ^
I think Carpenter could end up being a solid pickup as well. He was a 4-3 linebacker in college and then had to play in the 3-4 in Dallas. I am hoping that getting him back in a scheme that he might be more comfortable in will help him and have the same affect it had on Corey Williams.
October 31st, 2010 at 4:07 PM ^
Woodson with another pick!
