Tennessee takes an early 7-0 lead, which of course means they'll only lose 35-7 now.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:56 PM ^
You really know your Tennessee football.

I miss Lane Kiffin being in the SEC. He was an asshole in a sea of bland pricks for coaches.
October 23rd, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
I don't know, I'm pretty excited to the direction the Harbaugh-Kiffin relationship will inevitably take. It's a-gonna be fun!
October 23rd, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
Alabama could biff another one along the way...Oregon could blow one in the PAC Ten...Iowa's not looking so tough...

How much danger are we in of MSU making the National Championship Game? There's a lot of weeks for people in front of them to lose...and not many more teams that could beat them.
October 23rd, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
There's a good chance Wisconsin will jump ahead of MSU if MSU loses next week and Wisoncin runs the table, which looks very possible as long as they can get by us.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
If MSU loses they are done.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:47 PM ^
only presently undefeated Missouri gets less respect.
Undefeated Boise & TCU teams get in ahead of a one-loss MSU for sure.
And the one-loss line will be too long for MSU.
Next week is huge for them.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:01 PM ^
Consdering they barely beat a mediocre NW team this week and still have to go to Iowa, you never know. But yeah, they could very well go undefeated, which is terrifying but, I guess, good for them. Plus, that would prove yet again just how illogical the BCS is.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
MSU's game at Iowa next week is massive for them. Biggest game for them that I can remember. I feel sorry for everyone living in the state, its gotta be annoying.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:11 PM ^
I wonder if the three unbeatens at the end of the year were MSU, BSU, and TCU, if they would put BSU v. TCU in the championship. On the one hand, it'd be funny, on the other, it'd be pretty embarrassing for the Big Ten to have their champion snubbed for MWC and WAC teams.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
It would be even more embarrassing for MSU to get pasted by one of those teams. I think Boise State would carve them up, and TCU's defense is pretty tough.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:12 PM ^
Oklahoma, Oregon, Boise State, Auburn, and TCU are still ahead of MSU.
Considering their strength of schedule is relatively weak (no OSU, ND keeps losing), and the fact that they were not highly regarded at the beginning of the season, and their narrow escape against Northwestern, even if MSU beats Iowa next week, they will need lots of help.
I have a hard enough time seeing both Boise State and TCU losing with their schedules (Utah could replace TCU if the Utes win 11-6), let alone all five losing AND MSU winning out.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
I don't see Auburn running the table in the SEC, and even if Oklahoma wins tonight, I'm thinking they lose to Nebraska. So if Oregon slips up, can I see the polls not having 2 non-BCS conference schools playing? Seeing how Oklahoma leapfrogged them all, sure. (Though after playing in the little kid's table BCS bowl, watching them get yet another bowl rematch, bur for all the marbles, would be amusing).

Nice to see a few thousand people showed up to see Miami play. Isn't this supposed to be a top tier program? I suppose this is what happens when you move to an off campus sterile pro stadium.....Or when your fan base is 80% bandwagoners leftover from the 90s

2 Live Crew would beg to differ.

Jeeze... 7 true freshmen on the field against Georgia for Tennessee, so someone out there is worse off..
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:29 PM ^
Georgia or Alabama?
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:44 PM ^
They mentioned during the Alabama broadcast that Tennessee had 7 true freshman on the field at one point against Georgia.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:16 PM ^
Mizzou returns the opening kickoff for a td. Just like last week's night game.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
With a chance to really get momentum after forcing a 3 and out, Mizzou fumbles. Tough luck there.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:34 PM ^
Baylor has 683 yards of offense against #22 K-State ( no idea how they are ranked), but regardless that is one hell of a productive day.
Edit: disregard the reply, meant to be just a normal post.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:32 PM ^
Man it would've been fun to watch him in this offense.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
I hope to hear Musburger talk about which hash the place kicker is kicking from. That dude is sooo old.
October 23rd, 2010 at 8:50 PM ^
"Left Hash"....non stop during the Boise games.
Bring back Keith Jackson!! (Woodson Days)
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:02 PM ^
Is anyone here actually rooting for Mizzou? They came outta nowhere!
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:05 PM ^
im rooting for mizzou. I'll root for a block M over a maroon/scarlet O any day.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:07 PM ^
I'll root for the future Big Ten team to kill it in their last year in the Big 12.
Wait...what? You mean Mizzou never got offered to join the Big Ten? Really? Huh, I could've sworn they were in...
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:06 PM ^
I am, based solely on the fact that their band was playing the Super Mario theme song.

October 23rd, 2010 at 9:30 PM ^
..Solely because I'm 12th overall in the Allstate Mayhem Challenge and I picked the #1 team in the polls to lose this week (just like I did last week and it worked...).
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:12 PM ^
They have the 71st ranked defense this year, so they're ready to be exposed....games are won with offense but championships are won with defense.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:15 PM ^
Oh man, if that's true, Michigan is in a heap of trouble...
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
He said games are won with offense. Try to ignore the last part.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
this year to test the first part of the cliche.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:32 PM ^
I think it's a pretty fair assessment to say we won't be winning any championships without an at least above average defense.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:17 PM ^
Did anyone watch the Penn St game today? How did they look?
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:22 PM ^
But from what people were saying in the earlier thread, they looked God awful.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:25 PM ^
We seem to have a tendency to make bad teams look/play well.
October 23rd, 2010 at 9:35 PM ^
Wings just beat the ducks 5-4. Datsyuk scored with 11 seconds left.
October 23rd, 2010 at 10:01 PM ^
Hockey fines/penalizes players for leaving the bench to join a fight. Why don't they do that in baseball? Utley is hit in the back and gets flack from the pitcher and suddenly everyone from the dugouts and bull pens are storming the field. Ridiculous.
October 23rd, 2010 at 11:52 PM ^
Because baseball players are pussies and even when there are 74 of them on the field at one time the odds of an actual fight breaking out are slim.
October 23rd, 2010 at 10:03 PM ^
did you need all that weed and vodka?
Unbelievable Miami empty stadium
Tennessee looked like Tennessee for a half
Is Ingram is officially 2nd string, after getting destroyed on that blitz and the Richardson run/catch
October 23rd, 2010 at 10:14 PM ^
Jonathan Nelson of Oklahoma just made the greatest strip of the ball I have ever seen. It went backwards like 15 yards and they recovered it.
Wow, big field goal miss for the Sooners there. Still 17-14 Mizzou.
October 23rd, 2010 at 10:44 PM ^
It was the strippedest strip that ever was stripped. I've seen slant passes with less zip.
Meanwhile, did ABC come up with some insane way to overcome their earlier audio difficulties? I stepped away for a few minutes and it sounds like Brent and Herbie are calling this thing via CB now.
[Edit to provide a little info to kind of answer the posts below - the audio was cutting out entirely for 5-20 seconds at a time, with maybe 7:00 to go in the 3rd. Seems like they have switched to a more dependable but lower-fidelity method of audio transmission, up there.]
October 23rd, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
Just turned on the OU-Mizzou game, now is my hearing just terrible all the sudden or does Musberger sound like he's doing radio commentary?
October 23rd, 2010 at 10:34 PM ^
Has anyone else experienced a sound failure in the OU Mizzou game? It sounds like Herbie and Hamburger are doing the play by play inside a phone booth.
