This is me during the entire month of January. My least favorite month of the year.

A pos bangin' ain't much, but it will have to do for now.
To all that have problems bigger than losing a hoops game or losing an assistant coach, hang in there. Your M Go family is thinking of you.
GO BLUE !!!

I considered starting a Friday night drinking thread last night..
January 26th, 2018 at 8:01 AM ^
You could start one now.
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

January... Yeah, this month has pretty much sucked all year. Hopefully, it'll get better soon.

from Harvey flooding (90% out of my own pocket)... flood policy and 'excess loss flood' policies only picked up about 10%
...so don't get me started on insurance companies and their heartless white collar criminal antics (SOP)
January 26th, 2018 at 8:14 AM ^
They've all given me nothing but grief. What the hell do I pay them for just to have them tell me I'm up the creek with no paddle when I actually need the insurance?

Not much else to say. Sucked for Michigan, sucked for me, sucked for my family. Here's to hoping February is better.

Had 5 friends lose parents since beginning of October and 3 guys about my age (46) die of heart attacks. Carry on the legacy and keep her in your heart.

It sucks to get old.
It's not the way I would have designed it . . .

I started the week in the ER late Sunday night / early Monday morning for my 3 year old son's breathing, then back to the pediatrician Wednesday morning after he spiked a 103.5 temperate. The little guy is resting up and feeling better now which is the most important thing, but in a shocking twist I somehow got sick mystelf after spending hours around sick kids.

I have been in a few contentious meetings throughout the week, which are the sort of meetings that I cannot stand and get my blood pressure to places where my cardiologist would rather it was not. Bearing that in mind, my only wish is for my Friday to be....low-key, uneventful and even, for the first time this week, a cordial day.
As for last night, it didn't help my mood, but yet again, we stayed in a game that a lot of predictive analytics said that we would not.

Non-cash charitable contributions are your friend. Think Goodwill or Salvation Army. They give out blank receipts. Max deduction is $5,000. Anything above that and you need a "qualified appraisal".

Expectations have come down to earth; lower expecations often lead to higher levels of satisfaction. Men's basketball has had a very rough stretch of games and is looking very competitive with many winnable games coming up. Women's basketbal is having one of their best seasons ever. Football is returning a tremendous amount of talent with a very hungry coaching staff that appears to have been humbled. Hockey is trending up with a great coachign staff. We still have Coach Hutch. Manuel has shown that he will only tolerate coaches who have us in the B1G hunt. We are doing things cleanly, and we do not have any despicable black eyes like some of our rivals. I believe that Michigan is about to enter a period of greatness.

Watched it with my best friend from Ann Arbor. Got half-day Friday’s. We’re going to Mexico for a little road trip this weekend. Cheap beer and fish tacos to drown away all sorrows.
