I think I'll splash some homer fanboi optimist hottake on this thread, because I have the day off and I'm bored and I don't feel like being a cynical ass. Harbaugh put a butt ton of guys into the NFL at Stanford, and most of them were 2 and 3 star recruits. I don't see any reason that can't happen here, and his first two recruiting classes are about to become game ready.

Why didn’t the kid just release his freaking commitment video last week? Instead he got my hopes up by delaying the announcement and meeting with our coaches. Even Magnus had someone telling him it was going to be Michigan. This sucks. At least our staff cooled on him, we never really wanted him, and OSU’s bag men bought his commitment.

Oh well, we move on.  D Brown will continue to get great players and coach em up.  Not worried.  Looking forward to seeing McGrone.  Will be a stud.

I hate OSU. I like that Urban Meyer is good so that when we take them down it will be more satisfying, but some times I want to go full Caddyshack on him.

It's important to just stay the course. Keep blindly following the idiot, loudmouth coach, embarrassing the entire B1G, pretend like next year is gonna be different, act like recruits actually want to play for this moron and keep providing the internet with screenshots of sad faces when another lead is blown.

Friday can go to Columbus and play for a national championship every year or come to Michigan, win 7 games and play in the Taco Tuesday Bowl every year. Which would you choose?

Columbus is a hidden gem, honestly. they have such a huge demographic of 25 to 40 year old, college educated people. Columbus is not tied to any specific industry, rather very diverse, from banking to insurance to manufacturing to defense department to education to corporate. Columbus is a nice city with a shitbag fan base of a shit bag team.

Well, shit.  Had to expect it to happen, but it's a huge miss for this staff with no real positive spin to be had.  Are there any D-Tackles even available anymore?

Hopefully they pull out of this tailspin of negativity and have a good year next year, otherwise the things that Maizen keeps screaming about, actually may be a thing rather than a product of a fevered, attention starved kids imagination.

They rarely go head to head with kids that are high on OSU's and Alabama's of the world radar.  They go just a notch below and then will try to coach them up.  A team full of 4/3-star seniors will succeed against a team of 1st and 2nd year 5 stars.  Moreover, MSU picks up kids that really fit its system, are hungry and have a chip on their shoulders because they were not offered by top schools.  We may get a few top recruits but it is not paying off.  We should focus on good 4/3 stars.  Redshirt them, and then will beat OSUs and others with a team full 5th year players.

We had team full of seniors and if our QB was not hurt or the referee had made some correct calls we would have won.  That team had zero 5 stars who lived up to those rankings.

I am not saying we should do this forever.  This is the approach to beat top teams with what we can realistically get on the recruiting trail.  Once we have some success, then we should go for 5/4 stars.  At this point, our recruiting is just not consistent.  A team of 1-2 five stars and the rest who do not fit will be a disaster.  We went for some high  flying OL players that did not work out and now we are left with a terrible OL.

Need to put an exciting product on the field. The majority of kids these days want the shiny new toys. Michigan football unfortunately is not that. Its a slow, boring, offense, pro offense where the oline stinks, and the qbs cant hit open receivers. Kids want to score touchdowns and be on sportscenter. Its one thing to lose and have it be exciting, its another to lose and make ppl want to poke their eyes out. I know friday plays defense, but that perception of michigan is out there for most high schoolers. Put an exciting product on the field and kids will come.

This is what Harbaugh gets for losing to OSU, MSU, and getting incredibly embarrassed in a Bowl game. All those losses come back to bite you on the Recruiting trail
