Graham Spanier to Jail For Two Months
Ex-Penn State University president Graham Spanier was sentenced to two months in prison on Friday following his conviction on a misdemeanor charge for failing to report an incident of suspected child abuse involving Jerry Sandusky in 2001.
Would like to see more, but glad to see that this happened.
Gonna be a long, hard, painful two months for Graham. As it should be.
as a deterrent.
Rape isn't funny.
would be renamed in his honor, and he would be feted as being a visionary, ahead of his time in decriminalization. And a second statue added to the PSU grounds.
Many still deny he shit his pants against the Buckeyes.
They'd demand the Board of Trustees build a statue of a marijuana leaf on campus and Ohio State fans jimmies would be rustled that they didn't think of it first.
So would half of the people in Ann Arbor..
You are correct...the guy got 13 years for two joints...

So this guy got screwed, I'm not debating that, but he had 7 prior drug convictions including multiple felonies. If Spanier had 7 prior convictions I think he'd get more than 2 months also.
This is a Michigan blog and you never heard of John Sinclair. Unbelievable!!!!!

Hmmm, there are either a lot of broken sarcasm detectors or a lot of people that really hate marijuana.
The ex-VP and ex-AD both got jail time and house arrest. The judge even critized Paterno for not doing anything. It was a victory for justice all around, but too little and far too late. Making Paterno die in jail would have been fitting, even if it would give his family ammunition for haters ruining the legacy.
Fuck penn state
I'm sure that might feel like a lifetime for Graham, but that seems like a very short sentence given the position he held and the role he played.
actually I'm very surprised he got any time in the slammer at all. Usually people in his position (or former position) get off somehow or their lawyers negotiate some kind of deal where the person doesn't serve time. If nothing else this should make him unemployable in the future at any academic institution. Maybe Burger King will hire him.
I could be wrong, but maybe that's one of the better outcomes here - I mean, we can debate the amount of time he gets, but if nothing else, this does more or less guarantee that Graham Spanier never works in academia in any capacity again. Maybe that's a victory for the rest of the world, albeit a small one.
his days in academia were over anyways. And the two months will get dropped on appeal even if his verdict stands.
Here's to hoping he gets Sandusky'd in prison.
caught commiting a heinous act, and rewarded with emiritus status, access to the football facilities, and free reign to commit his crimes on campus.
My 1st semester of college I was in prison and still got a 3.0 GPA. Worst GPA my entire multi-degree academic career.
You know what they say when you assume? It makes you look like a stupid blathering idiot. Or something like that.
What the hell kind of prison allows you to go to college ? And if this story is true, what the hell were you in prison for ? Not many felons make education a priority.
In my experience prison is about punishment, not rehabilitation.
Wait... Am i doing this right?

One of the great overlooked items of this entire scandal is how the NCAA rolled back so many of the sanctions. How, with a straight face, they were able to do that was......
Penn State's culture allowed this happen and their insane fan base continues to celebrate Paterno. If there's any team that I hope Harbs runs the score up against it's Penn State.
To echo the sentiment FUCK PENN ST and the pedo they rode in on.
