Michigan Basketball will play Detroit at the Pizzarena next season
This is outstanding.
IL, IN and IA have 4 team showcases at a neutral site every year. Always thought it would be cool if MI had one in Detroit.
Michigan State will play Oakland and Michigan will face Detroit at the new Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit on 12/16, per multiple sources.

The first ever event at Joe Louis Arena was Michigan Basketball against Detroit.
Fitting they'll play in the first year of the new arena.
But what if it's at night???

Sounds rotten, absolutely rotten
I won't accept the name "Pizzarena" for the new sports venue. I cannot. I WILL not.

Sure you did, bud.
The next time someone asks why people give you a hard time around here, we can direct them to the time you quoted yourself.
The bigger news here is that HD app is alive?!

advocating...
Bo always wanted the basketball team to play football at 1 pm in Ann Arbor. This is a travesty
It sucks that Michigan just announced one of the coolest developments for its non-conference basketball schedule in several years and all y'all can do is bitch that WD posted it.
I'd like this to become an annual thing, with the Wolverines and Spartans anchoring and a rotating cast of Detroit/Oakland/Eastern/Western/Central.

Should happen every year...Horizon League then MAC, then Horizon, then MAC...each getting a shot at the big boys.

Too soon.

I remember when Detroit had their brief enounter with the big time and were the second best program in the state for a minute. Thunder and Lightning with Dikie V. coming onto the national stage. I don't know if this will signify a rebirth of any type for their program, but the entire idea is a good one and I am sure it will be beneficial for everyone involved, players, teams as a whole and the big winners being the fans.
You're a legend in your own mind.

It's the Little Caesar's Coliseum

I think it is quite fitting that the first overall event in the new Hot n Ready arena is a musical act whose quality really lives up to the legacy of Little Caesars pizza. Get er done Kid Rock.

How dare you besmirch the Hot 'n Ready with such a comparison. One's delicious, the other's verifiable hot garbage in a fedora.
to help me tell which was which.

You clearly were never a poor college student, $5 pizza was 2 days of quality food
2 days ? That is one meal for my GF.
the season after it is being de-emphasized by the committee.
Ah, the Kam Chatman revenge game.
This, and now apparently Paul McCartney will be there on October 1st at the new LCA. They really meant what they say about utilizing this place to the fullest, so it will be interesting to see Michigan hoops play a game in here too.
I can't wait for the first time this arena is overbooked and some concert AND hockey are attempting to go at the same time. It could be your only chance to see your least favorite pop act checked into the boards.

The campus is a nice walk from the LCA and there's probably another local D-II school they could play.
