Jourdan Lewis pleads not guilty to domestic violence

Few facts are in yet, other than Lewis is cooperating, was not arrested and is not restricted from leaving the state.
I hope this is nothing, but I know what we'd be saying if it wasn't a Wolverine standing accused.
a Michigan athlete before he has a chance to go to court and tell his side of the story.
Your last sentence seems to indicate we should throw someone who has a excellent reputation as a good young man, under the bus, to be consistent. We will very likely never know the whole story, since there will likely be a plea bargain to save the taxpayer's money and put this behind Jourdan.
I'm not trashing Jourdan unless more evidence comes out because this is totally out of character for him.
think he is saying that at all. I thnk the OP is stating that we (as a fanbase) are prone to going after student athletes from other schools before the whole story comes out and more likely to defend our student athletes with a "wait and see" approach. Which, I would agree with. It seems like you must know JL, because I couldn't ever know what is or isn't out of character for a student athlete that I didn't have a relationship with. This is obviously a pretty crappy situation for everyone involved, and I hope both parties have learned a valuable lesson.
Again, user name checks out.
(And that's how I read the initial post too.)
Hopefully the truth comes out and justice is served, whatever that turns out to mean here.
I kinda hope the mods lock this thread before it ends up like this:
The police still issued an "information" to the prosecuting attorney, and the prosecuting attorney charged him. Bottom line is you don't need to be arrested to be charged.
He was offered a pre-trial intervention program which would drop all charges if he completed probation but he would have to plead guilty. That's a much sweeter deal than going to trial, but it would have killed his draft stock.
Lewan and Frank Clark said,"not so fast my friend."

Lewan & Clark blazed a trail?...

They didn't blaze a trail but both still went in the 1st and 2nd rounds, respectively.
Edit: I didn't get the Lewis & Clark reference until after I responded. Have an upvote!
He must feel pretty confident that he's innocent.
Sure hope he is.
It is normal that immediately after being charged (at arraignment / pre-trial hearings) you plead not guilty. You can always change from not guilty to guilty if you reach a deal with the prosecutor, but you can't go back if you plead guilty.

Another thread for people to show their moral superiority, when literally nobody knows anything about what exactly happened.
You're both going to hell.

You're not wrong.

Lewis' girlfriend called police and said there had been a physical altercation at the residence, but officers initially were unable to determine who was the responsible party, he said.
"It wasn't clear to the officers (Wednesday morning) if there was an assault, or who the aggressor was," he added.
So yeah.

This is so stupid that we all put up with this. If he is found guilty, his future employers or interviewers will see this and think he is a thug and a threat to society. Domestic violence can be so many things and leaves people to draw all kinds of conclusions. This is just a dumb little boyfriend and girlfriend fight and should be labeled as that. Idiot law makers. Not even a scratch on her. He probably told her to shut the hell up and said she is crazy because she wouldn't stop yelling at him and saying things she shouldn't. That gives her the right to call the cops on him press charges? Idiots. I believe in abiding by the law but this so dumb.

To just keep to the facts. Lewis was charged. Lewis pleads not guilty. It's so funny when people try to summarize facts that's just complete hearsay. Let the process run its course. We don't need you to try to own what happened as if you were there. Or make judgments on what he did or didn't do based on the fact that you liked him as a football player. Irrelevant. If he did it, shame on him. If he didn't, good for him hopefully he's exonerated.

This post has no place here... no one cares about your personal story in a vaccuum... let the case work itself out before placing blame brother!

Who is JB?
There is a group of women that want equal outcome not equal treatment. Women would HATE IT if men treated them like they treat other men. On average women aren't as strong. There are different hormone levels on average. They can literally create life in their belly so that's a little different than men. They should be respected, treated well, and the differences celebrated, but not be treated exactly the same. That's crazy talk. Men almost never get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to domestic violence because of these differences that we have to pretend don't exist depending on the situation and who benefits in that instance.
