Michigan will play in practice uniforms
If we win this game, this game will go down in lore.
If we win this game, we will win the B1G Tournament. Has all the fixings for a storybook run like the 2008 Georgia team who won 3 games in 2 days after a tornado at the Georgia Dome moved the SEC Tournament to Georgia Tech's arena.
Fans have been asking. Yes, our game uniforms did not make the trip. Today we wear:

I assume that an entire team traveling overseas would have some input by the athletic department, yes. I highly doubt Harbaugh coordinated it all by himself.
You are talking bullshit. You have no idea, zero, zilch what goes on behind the scene. FYI, Warde has strongly supported Jim, for example, in BIG and NCAA meetings. He confronted BIG officials after OSU game. He did not want the first ND game to be on the road, but that meant pushing the start of the series a few years back. It was entirely Jim's call and Warde supported his decision.
Gutless and cowards are the trolls who hide behind their screen names and write this bullshit.
Why?
Their uniforms are still in the belly of the plane, which is still on its belly at Willow Run.
Sounds like the plane could use some plane pepto bismol in its belly.
Not for planes. Please use as directed.
do you have the number for poison control? Asking for a friend.
I'm sure this is somehow Warde Manuel's fault...
It appears he was sitting to far to the right on the plane.
Incredible.
Why did the uniforms not make the trip?
Apparently stuck on the original plane, which is not accessible due to FAA investigation. I think this would've been the case even if the B1G was staffed by competent people.
That makes sense then that they have to inspect the plane.
From what I read yesterday, the equipment that was on the plane yesterdaycan't be moved -- NTSB has an investigation underway, and that stuff can't be removed until NTSB says it's OK
>>EDIT-- Sure is hard to get a scoop on this site, LOL.
of the plane, the cargo doors probably can't be opened to remove anything - at least until the plane fuselage is elevated far enough so they can be opened.
If we win this game...I am getting drunk in the middle of the day
Cheers!
Flying to Dallas, then to Vegas today. Definitely getting drunk on the plane if we win.
Maybe I'm naive, but I'm shocked that the University of Michigan Men's Basketball Team only has one set of road uniforms.
That looks bad...can't come up with another uniform??
Especially since it's literally a tank top and shorts. Give each player a set to put in their backpack or something!
You're probably right. Have mercy.
This is the standard practice for neutral site games.
and those sets are in the broken plane still.
I'm a cautious man who likes to have backups. Shouldn't the basketball team be the same?
They likely do. But they were probably brought along in case a jersey gets ripped, etc, so they also would be on the plane. I certainly would anticipate a problem happening on the site of the games rather than them somehow getting stuck in an inaccessable location.
The uniforms travelled with the team. This is probably about the only scenario where the team somehow makes it to the game without their uniforms.
Right, but overnight shipping is a thing. Hell, Michigan can afford to drive/fly them there themselves.
I think we are looking at a instant classic situation here! Besides we are playing Maverick Morgan and it doesn't get any less white collar than practice shirts.
Gotta win this. A win here would be John Beilein's record-setting 210th. That will make for quite a story.
Jim Delay Me.
Everybody seemed to hate his guts, even people from his own district. I noticed him at a football game standing on the sidelines, all by himself.
At one XC dual meet against his team, he ruled that one of my teammates was disquaified because he was wearing lycra shorts under his cross country uniform, in the fashion that NBA players were wearing them in that era (~1991). My teammate had rolled them up so they weren't visible, but after finishing the race he rolled them back down. Boom, disqualified.
At the same meet two years earlier, on a very cold day, he ruled that we couldn't compete unless our running tights were all the same color. So some guys ran in just shorts.
I'm picturing him at today's game, ruling that we have to forfeit because we don't have proper uniforms. The hate keeps me warm.
That is bizarre. What a weirdo.
More things to be mad at!
That has never been in doubt, in my mind.
the game.
the uniforms are - by far - the least outrage-worthy aspect of all this.
Hey man, they delayed the game by TWENTY MINUTES! And I thought we'd just get 15.
Were they with the players? Or are they breaking in new ones during the game/?
Nope, the amazing shoes did make it.
