Michigan Holds at Fourth in AP
Here is the poll. Seems reasonable, but honestly, teams 4-9 feel pretty interchangeable at this point.

I thought MSU looked like a pretty tough out. If we both enter that game undefeated, should be a hell of a contest.

Its mostly because someone has to be ranked No. 8. And while Notre Dame isn't that good, they are still better than what other teams in that area of the rankings have played.
I mean teams 9-12 are Washington, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and Georiga. Those are all interchangable.

Don't worry about it. When Michigan beats MSU, the Spartans will be out of the picture anyway.

We can't beat MSU until...AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!

a logic Mobius strip. The only way out is for us to beat MSU.

And somehow Texas had zoomed up to #11 before last night, apparently solely based on beating ND at home in double-overtime.
September 18th, 2016 at 2:35 PM ^
They went on the road, at a team ranked higher than them at night, and other than getting lazy dominated ND.
Texas lost. Wisconsin looked like junk. Washington hasn't played anybody.
Pretty justifiable?

My bad on that. Thought ND was higher.
Still, beating a ranked team on the road justifies the bump. Didn't know it was that big of a deal?

It was that they dominated - and I think it was pretty clear that if MSU hadn't let up on the gas midway through the 3rd quarter, ND would have lost by a lot more than the final score indicated. Sparty looked like a totally different team than the one that struggled against Furman. Sure, one could say that Dantonio had two weeks to prepare his team, but he had FOUR weeks to prepare for Furman, and, yeah....

In a week where half of the other ranked teams were playing cupcake games against community colleges. At least Notre Dame was ranked going into the game. Colorado should have been ranked, or at least their 1st string should have been ranked.

I didn't say ND was a good team. I said they were ranked. When you beat down a ranked opponent you tend to move up the rankings.
September 18th, 2016 at 3:29 PM ^
I wouldn't be worrying about MSU's rank. I'd be worrying about MSU.
September 18th, 2016 at 4:16 PM ^
respeckt for Sparty.
September 18th, 2016 at 4:52 PM ^
FSU, Oklahoma and Texas all lost, so you would think they'd move up just by them losing? Seems pretty reasonable...
Your outrage should be focused on Texas A&M for moving up 7 spots after beating Auburn. But nah.

An noteable top 10: the SEC, ACC and Big 12 make up 20% of it.

MSU is not great, but they're not bad, either. Michigan will have their hands full in October. I still think Michigan wins (assuming we have a healthy squad), but it won't be as easy as I originally thought.

Trying to run on them primarily would be a mistake. We need to throw down the field on them as their secondary is not their strength in my opinion. We match up against them very well this year and should beat them.
September 18th, 2016 at 4:39 PM ^
We didn't play much manball against UCF. We'll take what the defense gives us.

MSU was the better team but ND's 3 turnovers (and having an interception ripped out of their DB's hands for a TD) were ultimately the difference in that game. Though in fairness, ND always seems to commit a lot of turnovers.

Hey, first half Ole Miss is the No. 1 team in the country. That has to count for something, right?
