[LOCKED] Baton Rouge, Michigan connection
**Montrell Jackson
will now have to grow up without his daddy being there to guide him. Then multiply that tragedy by 3, the total # of families who had the same outcome in Baton Rouge today, or even by 10, when you add in the families of the 2 victims in Baton Rouge and Minnesota and of the 5 officer-victims in Dallas.
That # can----and has to be----expanded even more to include the families of so many others who have died needlessly in similar ways in recent times.
Please, Please, Please----the violence and killing MUST end.
To the Jackson Family and to all those directly and negatively affected by this nonsense---my heart goes out to all of you. And my prayers. And my sympathy.
Officer Montrell Jackson:
- "I swear to God I love this city but I wonder if this city loves me. In uniform I get nasty hateful looks and one of uniform some consider me a threat. I've experienced so much in my short life and these last 3 days have tested me to the core."
Breaks my heart what he must've been experiencing. Hated for being police when in uniform. Hated for being black in Louisiana when he's not.
Makes no damn sense. He had a 3-4 month old baby.
...I know I said the last post was my last, but I literally just saw this and my heart sank. Same picture as the one posted above.
Edit: Now Fred is on CNN...
Oh man that hurts....Give that family many, many hugs.

Most vets and current members like myself don't have a good outlook on the VA.

These POS thugs were out to kill police officers - especially white officers.
My best friend was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Shot point-blank in the face by the fucking piece of crap he was trying to help. His story never made national news because he was a white police officer and the media doesn't care if a white officer is killed.

Pres. Obama can't piss off police unions or black civilians. It's a lose-lose situation. Either he's not doing enough for the black community or he's anti-police.
Unfortunately, a nuanced approach gets you criticized by all sides.
I keep reading about what Obama, Hillary and Trump said.
They are THREE people. One of which HAS to be as neutral as possible because his words can literally start wars. It doesn't matter how he (or she) feels or who he (or she) is...that position is what it is, let's not kid ourselves. It's not even a political statement one way or another - once you're President - everything you say is a little more neutral. At least that's how it's been in the past, who knows as we move forward.
The other two are running for a job, for maybe the most powerful position in the world. They have agendas. They're going to say what fits their agenda.
Why is anyone getting so worked up over what they say. I'd argue that none of those 3 people have as much freedom to speak as you and me. Let's worry about what WE'RE saying, not 3 people who basically have what they say/feel/do dictated to them by politics. You know what they're going to say. Smarten up and don't be surprised.
Mr. Yost...we need much more of this line of thinking. We are not sheep waiting to be told what to do. Eacn and every individual needs to step up their 'peace' game and stop this craziness before the ugly from all sides completely takes over.
Everyone can do something even if is being a bit more neighborly...inviting the new neighbors to the BBQ, whatever...but complaining about politicians being political on a subject like this is just asking for dissappointment.
Yeah I'm sure Obama blamed the police officers at their own funerals for which he spoke.
He condemned both Dallas and Baton Rouge.
Being anti-police brutality =/= anti-police.
My best friend who died was my only brother. Fuck you, asshole. Don't tell me to shut up, fucker, becuase you didn't go through the hell me and my family have gone through.. You are a piece of shit. And no the media didn't care becaues nobody reported his murder but the local media. Fuck you. Tell me to shut the hell up....asshole pice of shit. Emotional, hell yes I am and it's assholes like you who keep making excuses for these thugs who kill innocent people.

Emotional guy rants on MGoBoard. Gets called out and starts e-thugging.
Classic.
You can't be serious.
I'm sorry you lost your best friend, that's horrible and I wish we ALL would do more to protect those who protect us. But you can't be serious.
This an emotional time for everyone...MGoBlog isn't the place. Go get on Twitter with the rest of the country stirring things up with their hot takes.
"The media doesn't care if a white officer is killed"
Did you watch the media over the past couple of weeks since Dallas? Or their funeral that was attended by 2 Presidents?
That's horrible. My thoughts go out to the Jackson family.

Given the context that's one of the saddest things I've ever read :(
does anything connect them?

By definition terrorism is the use of violence to achieve political, religious, or ideological gain. Despite no one in the media wanting to call this a terrorist attack, it most certainly is.

I'd say it's more lexicographical and etymological waters. FWIW.
