Jim Hackett POSBANG
As Warde Manuel is set to carry the torch as the new Michigan AD, I believe Jim Hackett deserves one last hurrah. Thank you Jim for all that you've done, leading Michigan Athletics out of the darkest of times and restoring hope and optimism!!
Seriously, give this man a statue!!

He was the perfect man for the most imperfect of times. The University needs to find something on the athletic campus to name after him.

He will overlap duties with Warde for a few months and then ride off into the sunset a legend at UM. He has done so much for this program!

Thanks, Jim!

It's been so long since we had a good one, one who gets it. Thanks for everything, Mr. Hackett. And Good lucke, Warde.

Selfless efficient effective guy. Difficult to find another like him. Impact per month on job has to be all time high.

So when Hackett decided upon the salmon over the prime rib at the Football Bust dinner, you must have been so happy.

Keep your shitposts away from me, thanks.

Lighten up Francis, and feelings are mutual!

Thanks for Jim, Jim.

That'll do, Jim. That'll do.
(Very fortuitous that he stepped up when he did, that Brandon disintegrated when he did, and that the Yorks were idiotic. Without any one of those three things happening in close temporal proximity, we don't get Harbaugh. While I'm convinced we would still have gotten a good/great coach, who's got it better than us?)

You really proved in a short amount of time that you can definitely hack it!!!!!
You did more in a year and 3 months than most AD's do in a decade, thank you for rescuing us from the depth of despair and now we can schadenfreude over Florida fans freaking out about losing recruits to us, where it's brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, so cold!!!!!!!

It's a lesson to all of us to not assume guilt by association.
When he was first announced (and his announcement message had a lot of corporate doublespeak in it to be frank), we thought he was a Dave Brandon clone and we were generally disappointed. He had to win us over.
And he did.

While we're at it, kudos to Mark Schlissel for finding Hackett and then stepping back. It seemed like Schlissel got a quick lesson in what college sports means at Michigan vs. Brown, and he somehow found the perfect interim AD to find the perfect football coach, despite being new to his job and having to replace a complete disaster of an AD.
That could have gone a lot of ways, and Schlissel handled it as well as anyone could have asked.

Hail Schlissel as well.

Perfectly stated. The man will always have a special place in the hearts of all Michigan fans
