I never understood the people

I never understood the people that would interject in a discussion over favorite television shows just to announce that they themselves don't own a set.

Or vegetarians that have to make their presence known and somehow guilt or shame people that enjoy meat.

Having some base level of pop culture knowledge can't be a bad thing.

Are you proud of this?

Are you proud of this?

I don't know how to feel

I don't know how to feel about Trey.  He just hasn't proven that he's an average NBA player yet.  I hope he improves as a shooter, because it's really bumming me out.

If Jameer Nelson can make it happen for 12 seasons, Burke should be able to, as well.

I was all for Penn State

I was all for Penn State receiving the death penalty for five seasons.

Any time there's a scandal so severe that your school President, Athletic Director, and Head Coach all lose their jobs, it's safe to say that that school is unfit to be associated with.

The AAU kicks out Nebraska for having its med school offcampus and having an agricultural background....but the Big Ten can't remove Penn State for harboring and enabling a prolific pedophile for decades.

and 15+ people have enabled

and 15+ people have enabled his shtickiness.

It's a shame.

I'm not panicking nor

I'm not panicking nor complaining.  I had players on my radar, Gbinije wasn't on it.  It probably won't matter, because both the success rate for second round picks and our current roster situation.

But you think I shouldn't have an opinion or preference or feeling either way?

He was my target, too.  I

He was my target, too.  I don't understand adding a swingman in Gbinje, especially one that has to beat out a player or two just to make the roster.  He seems to be a capable shooter and scorer at 39% and 17.5 respectively, but Hillard and Bullock were already third stringers on the wing.

I don't think he's going to

I don't think he's going to be lackluster. I think MSU did a great job of hiding his defensive deficiencies in college, and that the offense and system bended itself to maximize his output and effectiveness.  NBA teams aren't going to do either to the same extent, if at all.

To his credit, he had a great shooting season and proved to be a triple double threat and arguably the most well-rounded player in the league.  I just think that may have been as good as it gets.

Valentine was AP player of

Valentine was AP player of the year, consensus first team All-American.

It doesn't matter the relative worthiness of the AP award, or if Hield is better than Valentine, the point was that Caris likely doesn't beat out Valentine for the honors that Denzel earned.

Hey, you leave me out of

Hey, you leave me out of this.

Denzel Valentine was national

Denzel Valentine was national player of the year.  I don't think Caris beats him both out at the conference level.

AYYY CARIS

AYYY CARIS

I'm going to have to

I'm going to have to strongly, strongly disagree with you.  His achilles heel is his jumpshooting, and it's glaring, but his physical tools and basketball IQ make his presence felt on both sides of the court.

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/DRPM/position/1 He's second in real defensive plus minus.

He's fifth in defensive rebound rate. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/position/pg/sort/…

He's second in total steals and steals per game, and first in steal percentage/rate.  http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/steals/sort/avgSteals/y…

He is 6'4" with a long wingspan, and it shows in team defense, as the Wolves were fourth in defensive efficiency. http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/teamstats/_/sort/defensiveEff/order/tr…

If Rubio is 12th in the NBA in value added, with a far lower usage rating than anybody above him, despite his abysmal shooting, is it not safe to assume that he's making a difference defensively?  http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/position/pg/sort/…

But you tell me.  How is he subpar?

All Michigan-related, of course.

The Wolves taking Kris Dunn

The Wolves taking Kris Dunn makes me think that Rubio is expendable.  I'd go all in for him, making the Pistons' sixth man be a heady, defensive, playmaker that would allow Reggie Jackson to play off the ball in spurts.

I'd want to package Jodie

I'd want to package Jodie Meek's contract, Aaron Baynes, and #18 for a veteran PG or PF.  I can't make myself excited about who's projected to be available around our pick.

I must not have caught any of

I must not have caught any of those mocks, then.

I had seen him in the 6-9 range.

Jaylen Brown, who Beilein was

Jaylen Brown, who Beilein was hard after a short while ago, just went third to Boston.  Unexpected.

I was yesterday, but the eff

I was yesterday, but the eff bomb post was cathartic enough.

The ensuing posts were the alcohol talking. I have remorse.

I just don't like that the Cavs were a mere minutes away from being seen as a clusterfuck, with a headcoach that's in over his head who was handpicked by LeBron, sending a prestigious coach packing from the NBA entirely/a team that either cannot or will not utilize Kevin Love properly/teammates that have pointed fingers at each other in the media and appears to be cliquey/and then some.

But they held on, LeBron went super saiyan, Kyrie's flash proved to have substance, and as they say...winning cures everything.

I'll just go ahead and assume

I'll just go ahead and assume that you think Tyronn Lue is worthy of being in the pantheon of NBA championship head coaches, that JR Smith has any basketball IQ or professionalism to speak of outside of streaky distance shooting, that Kevin Love wasn't unfairly scapegoated for two years, and that Iman Shumpert's hairdresser is doing a BANGUP job.

No?

You didn't disagre with me on anything, or state your case, or say where I was wrong?

K.

I'm sorry.  I have this

I'm sorry.  I have this strange sixth sense about sand getting into awkward situations.  I felt it, I sensed it, it was perceived.  I just didn't know that you were the one that had gotten sand in your vagina.

Wish I could've helped you and your cunty situation sooner.  Hope tomorrow's different; fuck you too, until then.

Little did I know that

Little did I know that watching game 7 would be the cause of my Sunday drinking.

Fuck this.

Fuck LeBron.

Fuck them coming back from down 3-1.

Fuck that all of this Kevin Love drama was for nothing.

Fuck Tyronn Lue being a championship caliber coach.

Fuck JR Smith being a starter on a winning team.

Fuck LeBron.

Fuck Iman Shumpert's hair.

Fuck my being unable to comprehend a 73-9 team with the MVP not winning a championship.

Fuck Cleveland fans for thinking this makes up for LeBron wishing that Dwyane Wade was here to share this moment with him.

Fuck Bogut's injury.

Fuck the most statistically significant outlier in modern NBA history having a subpar finals.

Fuck Draymond getting suspended.

Fuck LeBron.

Fuck. LeBron.

Some teams can't justify

Some teams can't justify having three rivals.

I care about playing Ohio State and Michigan State every year.  We need to play them, we need to beat them, and I hope it's normalized that both teams aren't away or home on the same year.  Sure, the Little Brown Jug is cute.  Yes, we've lost to Maryland and Rutgers recently and these wrongs must be righted.  I absolutely want to play Wisconsin more often.

But I really only care about OSU and MSU, getting ND back in the fold, and scheduling some strong OOC opponents.  Playing Minnesota or Rutgers every year is less important than a coin flip to me.

That said, I can't see how the Purdue/Indiana/Northwestern/Illinois or the Minnesota/Nebraska/Iowa/Wisconsin blocks are broken up.  Each of those teams deserves those three rivals, as they are geographic matches and have relate strengthwise historically.

The roommate switch seems less arbitrary to me.

Case in point, you dimensionless, obtuse, jackass. Case in point, you dimensionless, obtuse, jackass.

No.  You have a shtick.  You

No.  You have a shtick.  You think it'll get you upvotes, and it has, and it's very disappointing.  You can't NOT include a cliche, even if it's not relevant.   Baylor had nothing to do with the topic at hand, but you think that throwing them under the bus will get you points.

You redirect to either a) pander and bring up Harbaugh to elevate Michigan/mention MSU or OSU to denigrate our rivals, or b) pile on by mentioning Dave Brandon or Hoke/bring up whatever SEC or B12 scandal is currently ongoing.
It's almost always tangential, but you get some love for it, because YES! Go Blue, Harbaugh rules, Dave Brandon is a douche, Hoke failed, MSU and OSU are mouthbreathers, and two power five conferences tend to break the rules in the most hypocritical of fashions!

I've said it before, but your posts are fluff.  You lob softballs.  You pick low-hanging fruit. You very rarely say anything insightful, informative, provocative.  You post a lot of things without actually ever discussing anything valid.  You're 11th in MGoPoints on this blog but there are a hundred posters that actually contribute content that moves and improves discussion.  You could choose to push the needle, but instead you opt to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and when that fails, you post a fucking picture.

But yeah, fuck Penn State and their delusional Joe Pa loving fans.

Pretty much.
I made an excel

Pretty much.

I made an excel spreadsheet too, and I came up with the same four pragmatic groupings, and really only split hairs when it came to finding a third team for Michigan and Michigan State (Rutgers vs Maryland).  The roommate switch would make that decision moot.

Odd Years

Michigan..............Penn State
Michigan State....Maryland
Ohio State............Rutgers
Wisconsin............Illinois
Nebraska.............Northwestern
Iowa......................Indiana
Minnesota............Purdue

Even years

Michigan..............Penn State
Michigan State....Maryland
Ohio State............Rutgers
Illinois..................Wisconsin
Northwstern........Nebraska
Indiana................Iowa
Purdue................Minnesota

I thought about normalizing the three remaining conference games (like, on odd years we'd play two of Penn State/Maryland/Rutgers and one of Illinois/Northwestern/Indiana/Purdue, and even years we'd play two of Penn State/Maryland/Rutgers and one of Wisconsin/Nebraska/Iowa/Minnesota) but I figured to leave it open for some scheduling freedom.

It'd work.

If we expanded to 16 we'd just have to add one team to our Mich/MSU/OSU pod and one to PSU/Maryland/Rutgers'...or kick PSU over to the Mich/MSU/OSU group and throw two onto Maryland and Rutgers.

Damn, I missed the memo where

Damn, I missed the memo where you were supposed to ONY say: Staee, ESS EEE SEE, fuck Penn State and all their Joe Pa loving fans, Nick Saban, Mark Dantonio, Urbz, Jessica Alba, Allison Brie, weekly topical hurr hurr.

Seriously.

Did someone send you that?

Oh? Oh?

I haven't been compelled to

I haven't been compelled to *understand* the situation further.  I was there, alive, conscious, aware, from 06-08 when Seattle fans were screwed by Clay Bennett, who reneged on an agreement that was made in good faith.

Seattle fans are still justifiably salty, the "Thunder" is still a weak-sauce and WNBA caliber nickname, and a storied team vanished in thin air out of greed.

That's still a silly reason to dislike the second best offense in the NBA/a humble, recent MVP/the most physically explosive PG in the league/a system that still utilizes big men in a throwback manner, oftentimes running a two center system/Mitch McGary's squad.

and you said you HATE them.

I agree. The primary reason I agree. The primary reason that I couldn't stand Kobe is because he should have been a Minneapolis Laker.

It would've been worse if It would've been worse if Will Ferrell was full time. The biggest mistake they made was Andy Bernard. They changed the character too often and then abandoned his plot lines and made him entirely unsympathetic without being villainous. He was just, annoying and hard to care for or about.

Do you think anybody that currently likes the NBA cares that you don't?

I don't go into the softball threads and make myself known as a hater. I don't think I'm that important, and I know nobody else gives a shit.

Also, every MVP winner helps Also, every MVP winner helps establish the standard for what an MVP caliber season is, setting the bar each time. In 2015 he had 26 second place votes, and 3 third place votes, along with a silly fifth place vote.
He absolutely stepped it up, at statistically staggering levels. It's not a stretch to think that the uptick in his performance was enough to convert those thirty voters , relative to his 2014-2015 performance. When you consider the improvement he made it as an individual and that his team made compared to LeBron's and the Cav's, it is not at all surprising that he widened the gap so much and that it was evident in first place votes.

Stephen Curry shattered Stephen Curry shattered records on a record winning team. I'm not going to hold it against him that he has two great coaches on the staff in Steve Kerr and Luke Walton. He's not less valuable because he shares the court with Draymond and Klay Thompson. He's not any less impressive because of the system he plays in.
Golden State may be a great team without Curry, but they are absolutely overpowered with him.

To be honest, all else being equal, LeBron sub tweeting his teammates and getting coaches fired and even being perceived as less than 100% committed to Cleveland does a lot to diminish his value
