The pipeline flow goes from a trickle to a spring and soon will be a torrent!

Damn, got to give some appreciation to Hoke and Durkin.

Hoke built the pipeline with Peppers and Bushell-Beatty which allowed Harbaugh to get Partridge, who, thanks to Durkin leaving early, was able to go on the crootin trail and knock 'em out.

Isn't he?

Harris was the only one close and he was injured senior year and dropped. Cole was up there. RR got nobody that high. Chesson was a 3*. A very fast 3*. Darboh a low 4*. Treadwell would have been comparable.

great link.  interesting to look at that list and see that virtually everyone of the higher ranked guys (say, 35 and above) all had some great years at michigan....right up until you get to the higher ranked guys pulled in by hoke.   and those guys range from serviceable (kugler) to likely washout (s. morris).

Maybe a dumb question but he can't openly recruit players anymore now right? Anyways, whatever, I'm just glad he's here and excited to see the young man develop.

Magnus any view on him as a DB?

He tweeted he will wear #2 (yes that #2) .... and in a tweet someone asked if he would be a 2 way player and he said "that's the plan".  Brian indicates on front page we might move 1 wr to defense... etc.

I'm not a big fan of him on defense. He's a little awkward and tentative. He doesn't have great instincts. He looks kind of like Dymonte Thomas did as a freshman when we were all like, "Uh, that's not what we thought we were getting." Mitchell is just an athlete lined up at a position on defense - no technique, no stance, no refinement. So...yeah, he's a huge project on defense.

He looks a lot more comfortable on offense, and that's saying something, because he still looks a little gawky on offense. But he's kind of a physical freak with his size, speed, and change of direction.

He looks much better on offense than on defense. Mitchell wanted an offer from Ohio State but did not receive it despite having a good showing at OSU's Friday Night Lights summer camp. OSU targeted Austin Mack as its top priority at WR because he's a refined player and far more likely to contribute from day 1. (Mack was also our top WR target according to Clint Brewster of 247.) It's nice Ahmir Mitchell is enrolling early. That will help him climb the learning curve but I expect him to redshirt in 2016. Barring a rash of injuries, we won't need him until 2017 because we have many capable upperclassmen to lead us next season.
