Harbaugh to NFL - "No freaking way"

Submitted by bluebots on

According to Bleacher Report (yes BR sucks etc etc) NFL GM's have reached out to Harbaugh's camp and

"weren't told just 'no.' They were basically told 'no freaking way.'

Harbaugh isn't going anywhere."

Love it.

money has a way of getting attention. Carroll left USC because he knew the the NCAA was about to drop the hammer and Seattle made him an offer he could not refuse.

Should (God forbid) a rogue Michigan assistant coach do something stupid causing the NCAA to impose sanctions JH will listen to the mighty NFL. Nothing is forever.

So in your scenario Harbaugh abandons Michigan because of sanctions?  He loves this school.  He isn't Urbz.  He'd fight the sanctions and bring us back again.  Have some faith fergodsakes.

is too many posters post and think with their heart and not their head. If you were to ask JH whether he plans to coach Michigan for the rest of his career I very much doubt he will respond positively. He would be foolish to do so.

For an example, Ross a billionaire is a Michigan man with a faltering franchise. He can easily afford to offer JH 10 million for five years and control the team. Miami is not a bad place to be. They are young team with an up and coming QB. This is not to say this will happen but it should open the eyes of the blog deniers that the NFL is not something JH would consider.

Or what about if USC comes knocking at his door? People need to get real on this site.

If you read bacons book you know that it's likely that Jim loves Michigan and wants to set up roots in Ann Arbor. If you use your head, you'll see that jim already could've went to another nfl franchise and made more money (he could've probably made more money at Umich).

The man has attended frisby football on campus fer gods sake. He likes it here, and unless Michigan changes its demeanor and shits on him, he'll be here for a long while.

If you use your head instead of your "we can't have nice things" Michigan heart, it's clear that Jim is where he wants to be.

Exactly! My source of optimism about the length of Harbaugh's tenure comes mostly from excerpts in Endzone.  Some of those stories show just how much that man loves this university.  And the best thing about love is that it's rarely logical, leading me to delusionally believe that Jim ends his career here.

and if Harbaugh packs his bags to go to the NFL in 3 years or something I wouldn't be totally shocked.

But the USC thing is pretty obvious trolling and I don't know why a Michigan fan would want to troll Michigan fans about Harbaugh. Seems like the sort of thing a Sparty would do.

Your head tells you that Stephen Ross would pilfer Harbaugh from Michigan? He has donated 400 million dollars to Michigan and his freaking name is on the business school but you think he is willing to make himself persona non grata in AA to upgrade his teams HC.

And you next great thought was what if USC comes knocking? USC? Did you eat a bunch of paint chips as a child or something?

but I do agree with you that we need to stop assuming he'll never leave. For God and Country? Sure. I'm sure he had some feelings of "I have to help if I can" but those very feelings are what could cause many to decide that they've "helped and move on. That's just one scenario in the billions that make up LIFE lol. People on here need to chill out and think sometimes (I'm no exception).....

The only thing that would bring Harbaugh's time in Ann Arbor to some premature ending is some sort of scandal; or him saying or doing something bat-shit crazy; or something like the admisistration or conference taking some hard-line stance on admissions (see Cal).

Otherwise, he's here for a good while- 5 years, at least.

He could have taken jobs for more money.  He could have gotten more money from Michigan.  Money is not what motivates the man.

I think he truly believes that THIS job was his destiny; that he is HOME.

it's irrelevant what level he is talking about. He is about football and how it's played. Because he is, the level of the sport he coaches matters not. And guess what, he is the only one who has figured this out. He can coach the game at any level, and respects the game at every level, he loves the game at every level, and has succeeded at the game at every level. When that is the case, you make your own determination as to what the value is of coaching on any level.

Is always good to hear, but no surprise. Harbaugh is home. Number 5 is always fun to hear and a matter of when not if.
