If its a question of federal law, what the state government says may not matter.
Edit - am a MLawyer - not an employment lawyer
|3 years 46 weeks ago||here's what hoopshype says.||
473K this year, 788K next year. Looks guaranteed.
|3 years 47 weeks ago||Rivals wrote that "sources"||
are saying Michigan is unlikely to get Harbaugh after last night.
Bring oooon the hearsay!!
|4 years 7 weeks ago||10-7 games||
We won't be seeing that again in a while!
|4 years 11 weeks ago||he doesn't heal||
he heals you!
|4 years 31 weeks ago||WOW||
Sorry Donovan. Apart from the fact that you left early, I really, really liked you.
OTOH, I wonder if this is going to keep guys in the program longer. You know they're all gonna be talking about it.
|4 years 31 weeks ago||thanks.||
Geeez....so is the consensus that it's just his 40 time that killed him? Was he out of shape or something? Injured?
|4 years 31 weeks ago||forgive my ignorance||
but what is this "compensatory selection" business for picks 32 - 48 in the 7th round?
|4 years 35 weeks ago||thanks Manny||
we'll miss you.
Hello Trey Ziegler?
|4 years 40 weeks ago||if he started having problems with blood flow to the brain||
he'd be a perfect fit in the SEC.
|4 years 42 weeks ago||I think the dancing is happening regardless||
From what I've seen of Dorsey. As long as it happens after all his many pick-6s and third-down stops, I'm cool with it.
|4 years 42 weeks ago||it's not libel or slander...but it's ridiculous||
He claimed factually simply that Dorsey had been arrested twice which appears to be true. The rest of it is clearly him stating his opinion that this implies that kid will get in more trouble. Sharp didn't imply that he had any inside information that Dorsey had actually done any wrongdoing or had done anything else. Bottom line is he stated the basis of his claim drew his conclusions.
The problem is that it's ridiculous. Depending on where you are ... and to quote Sharp "let's not be naive..." what race you are, it can be easier or harder to be arrested. Additionally, the bar for being arrested is quite low. Arrests that are based on a less than even chance of criminal activity are constitutional.
Sharp is essentially saying that the kid should be some kind of untouchable based on these arrests even though he might have done nothing at all. That's insane. The sad thing is that there are innocent people out there with arrest records who can't get jobs precisely because of this kind of logic.

So happy for BG...he deserves it... so talented and he's always been loyal to the program through everything.
On the other hand...seeing how good he is in this environment makes me worried a tiny bit for next year. I hope everyone else steps up to make up for his loss. I'm hoping Roh will be our next beast.
|4 years 43 weeks ago||Nets fan here.||
If we're not going to be good anyway (to put it mildly), might as well take our best shot at the lottery and go for Mr. Wall.
I think with this Russian Billionaire owner and the move to Brooklyn and the upcoming 2010 free agent class it'll be interesting times for Nets fans.
Folks who are NJ Nets and Michigan fans have it tough right now but I'm sure it'll all come together soon.....hopefully.
|4 years 43 weeks ago||it seems like he's going cause Peedi is going.||
I don't think he's really ready...and it would be better for him to stay...but ESPN has him as a late first round, early second round pick.
There is this idea that drafting seniors is a bad idea because they have limited upside, but I can't believe he's really that high up as it is right now.
I think he should stay and I hope he stays....but I doubt it. We really need at least one star which I don't know if we'll have when Manny and Peedi both leave. It's unfortunate.
|4 years 43 weeks ago||iPad sounds like an electronic feminine product.||
Marketing failure IMO.
|4 years 43 weeks ago||BG in the second round?||
BG would be a RIDICULOUS steal in the 2nd round.
|4 years 43 weeks ago||sounds like an electronic feminine product.||
We already know the i-Douche wears a sweater vest.
|4 years 44 weeks ago||sweet!||
Jibreel Black would be an awesome get.
|4 years 44 weeks ago||that's good!||
That's good! On the other hand I'm kind of surprised that if this is allowed that it isn't abused by some teams.
(Just to be clear, I'm not saying this is an abuse in this case, I'm just saying that it seems to be a rule that COULD be abused. Grady clearly can legitimately contribute to both sports)
|4 years 46 weeks ago||it's also a little different from football tickets||
As far as I know, you can only validate student basketball tickets on weekdays at the ticket office as opposed to football tickets that can be validated at the stadium.
If it was the same as the football tickets, you could just ask around until some Michigan student would get them validated for you.
Since I've always just had student tickets, I'm not sure, but it's possible that you can just buy tickets at the stadium. I'm also almost completely sure that the Northwestern game wouldn't be sold out.
Hopefully someone can come on here and tell you if you could buy regular tickets at Crisler on game day.
|4 years 46 weeks ago||doubt it||
I personally see Alabama absolutely destroying Texas.
|4 years 48 weeks ago||Threet||
The "Threet Era" already seems like such a long time ago....
|4 years 51 weeks ago||but apparently||
but apparently Coach Weis knows a lot about Carroll. What a swell guy.
|4 years 51 weeks ago||In other news||
In other news, water is wet.
Clausen would have to be as much of a lunatic as Weis in order to stay another year at ND.
|4 years 51 weeks ago||he wasn't even touched||
I first heard there was "minimal contact". But if you look at the video, the guy is driving past his OTHER LEG. He essentially injured himself in the act of jumping.
I guess that's not as bad as injuring yourself in the act of getting up off your couch like last time he was out for a season.
Still....that sucks..... I used to think it would be awesome to be 7 foot but the more I think of it no. If you're 7 foot and if you're not in the NBA you're basically screwed.
|4 years 51 weeks ago||good thing I didn't put any money on any of that stuff||
My predictions were completely backwards. I was sure Brandon Shaub would win as well as Marcus Jones. I also thought that there was no way Kimbo Slice would beat a legit fighter. Kimbo's ground game was shockingly good. His legs are super spindly though.
That Jon Jones fight was incredible. Although the outcome sucked I can see the purpose behind the rule even if Rogan thought it was silly...but I've never done any full contact fighting so what do I know.
Pretty decent show overall.
|4 years 51 weeks ago||I don't get the new rule.||
I don't see the logic of the new rule. The practice of enrolling early would appear to be academically good for students and give freshman a better opportunity to play. I guess it increases the possibility of students being in college for 5 1/2 years but that didn't seem to hurt Van Wilder.
I just don't see the PURPOSE of the new rule.
|5 years 6 days ago||which year does he count against?||
According to Scout, the NCAA rule changed so people who start a semester early are still counted towards the subsequent years scholarship limit. But since he didn't qualify for this year... how does that work?
|5 years 3 weeks ago||improvement||
My biggest concern quite frankly is the improvement of the team.
Our record so far is 5 wins, not counting Delaware State, 4 wins.
Our legitimate wins are Notre Dame and Indiana by the skin of our teeth.
The defense in particular doesn't seem to have improved at all.
That having been said, I'm still hopeful. I think that some improved quarterback play that will come through experience as well as a few more bodies in the secondary will be huge. I guess I'm just hoping Warren won't leave for the bright lights of the NFL. Losing BG will be bad enough.
