Stribling and Clark cannot play off coverage, they need to be in press coverage

Personally I don't think he's very good period. Stribling is good in press as you mentioned. You're definitely right, putting either of them in a non press situation is asking for trouble.

True, but I saw a lot of max-pro from Minny. We still got pressure at times, but Ross didn't look near as good as RJS at buck, so we were only rushing 3.5 or less at times. I'm curious as to why RJS wasn't playing more seeing as how he did pretty darn well against MSU. Ross is more of a pure LB and didn't make as good of decisions as RJS either from what I could tell.
Agree on the 'backers, easily their worst game. Anxious to see the UFR and if there was something Minny was doingn that was causing it or if they all mostly just had an off game.

yeah i posted something last night re coaches decisions to alter D personnel and scheme for this game. i guess they determined during bye week that they should utiilze ross as stand up buck to match up with minnesotas numerous 22 and 12 personnel groupings. but thats never been ross' strength, he should not be playing over the tackle or TE (if hes playing at all).
they had so much success with nickel and dime packages with 1-2 LBs prior to last night so im very curious why opted to roll with 3 LBs for most of the game. ross has always struggled to shed blockers and make plays whenever hes not diagnosing from 5-7 yards away and darting to the ball. its not like jenkins-stone was playing all conference level but he was ok and seemed to have decent feel for playing zone read, acting as the force, etc - and he wasnt injured, he at least played some last night so im not sure why they did that. morgan and bolden prob played some their worst ball in m uniforms but ross looked truly clueless on the edge. he was slow to react at times and at other times bailed on his responsibilities - at least 3-4 big runs by the QB were directly on ross for collapsing on the dive back with no one scraping behind him.
hopefully we dont see that experiment again bc it did not work. tackling was all around poor last night. the DL played great much of the game and other than some missed opportunties and the blown double move the CBs actually played ok - but safeties and LBs have certainly looked better

I've been advocating for more pt for him, but he seemed kinda lost last night. I definitely don't think he's well suited for playing as a stand up DE.

That might actually be simple: Put Lewis on Carroo and give him the Burbridge treatment.

I don't know if he'll play Saturday as he is still battling that ankle injury.

Hey.
What's even better than the guys who reportedly don't know shit taking about this? The asshole who comes on here telling everybody else how stupid they are, only to offer absoutely nothing to the conversation.

I was suprised by how much run Clark got. I thought Stirbling already had the edge and then Clark gave up that MSU TD. Seemed like he got the bulk of the snaps in the first half.

DBs need to be aware of the game situation. On the last throw over Stribling, it seemed to me as if the one thing he had to make absolutely sure of was that the receiver did not get behind him. Regardless of how many moves the receiver made, Stribling - because of the game situation - had to be sure to keep the receiver in front of him, and he failed to do that. That can be taught.

I think is most important. Leidner was a runner we often were not pepared for. Fast forward a couple weeks and I hope we have the solution to JT Barrett, assuming he's freed from the long arm of the law.

Mitch had some great throws into perfect coverage and got away with 3 passes that should of been picked clean, one of those the Peppers would be pick 6. The defense is fine, Clark and Stribling are fine. Stacked formations are difficult to defend, especially when the ball is threading the needle on a lot of throws. It's Sunday watch the NFL. Wait for the advanced stats and UFR to come out. Hot takes much?!?!

You are correct IMO, but how on earth does Stribling let a receiver get behind him with 20 seconds left in the game? Safety got there late also, but couldn't see what other responsibility he might have had.
It really should gave cost us the game, just fortunate the receiver's knee went down as he was making the catch.
