OT: MDen Locations
I am taking my wife to her first Michigan game against UNLV. She has no Michigan gear, so I would like to remedy this. Which MDen location is the largest? I've not been to AA in several years. I'd like to give her the biggest selection to choose from so she can get something she likes (and so I can get some nice stuff, of course).
Thanks!

Yeah, there's something about the, "Buy one, get three free" model that just doesn't seem to work economically to me.

to the one next door - I think it's called the Victor's Collection or something like that. They have the really nice stuff in there (dress shirts, khakis with the block M, and also women's clothing).

There is an MDen in Crisler that will be open but usually pretty busy (as is the tent store) during the game.
UGP on South U (and I guess Main too) and Moe's (right around corner from State St. MDen) are also options. The State St. MDen as others have said has by far the largest variety.

UGP on Main Street is also a great spot, they got some cool shirts different from MDen, like most of the Charles Woodson shirts.

UGP carries a lot of the shirts that MGoStore has, so I'm guessing they are actually the suppliers? I wonder if the blog gets a cut of any of the things sold there.
Personally, since I live in AA, I prefer to just get my gear at the store, since I'm walking around downtown almost every weekend with the wife and kids.

you are going for the in-person experience. If you order something today or tomorrow, you should receive it in plenty of time. I ordered some jerseys this summer and received them in less than a week.

The Mden store in Briarwood is OK but it doesn't offer the same selection that you will find at the MDen store on State Street.

It's not quite what the other locations are in terms of size, but for anyone who - like me - lives along or near the I-275 corridor, there is also an M-Den at Laurel Park Place in Livonia. It sits between the Carson's location and Pro Sports Zone College, but if you're hungry afterwards, there's a California Pizza Kitchen right around the corner from there.

Yep, Laurel Park's is bigger than 12 Oaks'.

Van Boven, which is at the State St entrance to Nickels Arcade, has a small selection of Michigan attire. But what they have is very nice - it was the source of the ties sent to Jim Harbaugh last December (and set the MGoUniverse on fire).

I'm sure his wife would love a Michigan tie for herself ;)

Get ready for not being able to move as it will packed beyond belief. Even the tents on game day around the stadium are like that.

but there are only a couple in A2. Inside Crisler, one on State St. Then you have the Briarwood Mall, Livonia. They have the west side of the Detroit Suburbs covered. If you live north like myself in Clarkston it's the Internet or bringing some extra scratch to the game or concert. I do ok for my family and myself but to bring extra cash to one of these events can get quite expensive. So I find myself ordering another hat or whatever I happen to be after off the Internet.

There's also one on Main Street in A2, but it's much smaller than the one on State St. Unless it closed recently? It was there last fall. . .

It's still there.

I try to avoid MDen if possible. Moe's has been there forever and is the "little guy" in the M sportswear world. I have heard various rumors about the folks at the MDen trying to kill off Moes because they don't like the competition. I try to go to Moes to keep a small, traditional store on campus.

Moe's is essentially just Undergroud Printing, and they're doing just fine. I like UGP's stuff a lot.

Does anyone know where I can pick up some Michigan gear in Chicago?

I live in the Chicago area and this is not the place to find Michigan gear. Maybe a T-shirt or 2. Hello M-Den on the web.

They sell Sparty stuff at the Laurel Park mall in Livonia.

I really don't care if it is OT or not. My point is that MDen isn't really a purely Michigan store like they pretend to be.

If Sparty goes to the Rose Bowl they will have shirts, caps, cups, etc for sale. They sure did the last time.
September 8th, 2015 at 1:29 PM ^
How dare they expand their business, grrrr.
Seriously. Livonia and it's neighboring western Wayne County suburbs are loaded with MSU alums and it's just good business sense to sell a Sparty Rose Bowl shirt if that's the market you're in.
September 8th, 2015 at 2:49 PM ^
I didn't say they couldn't do that. My point was that they weren't exclusively a "Michigan" store.

She likes a big selection, huh?

Google it, bruh.

Amazing the effort that people spend here posting questions whose answers can be found in literally 1 minute with Google.

If you don't want to waste your time on Saturday morning (insane lines), I'd highly recommend stopping by on Friday night.
But you have to choose the State Street location.
