UM opens -14 vs Oregon State
Michigan opened up a 14 point favorite vs Oregon State for Saturday. The line quickly shot up to -15.5 within an hour, but has since came back down to 14.
I think there is some value with UM here. Coming off a very public loss, against an undervalued Utah team. Oregon State will be starting a true freshman QB on the road, in Harbaugh's first home game, with a terrible defense, coming off an underwhelming performance against Weber State (final score doesn't show how much they struggled, which helps keep this line down).
I think this line should be close to 17, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets there. Small wager on UM at 14.

Agreed, most UM lines are over valued because of the public love to Michigan (similar to what Pats and Packers receive). However, in this situation I believe there is some small value for UM.

I was trying to list all the reasons Oregon State is trash and it got away from me a little bit.

Not sure about the commas, but based on your count of what the second sentence is and your use of an apostrophe in 'comma's' I think your assessment on wine usage is spot on. As it is a holiday weekend, I think all is fine.

But how are Harbaugh's teams as home favorites? That's more meaningful than looking at how our old coaches did against the spread.
I can see us covering here. Oregon State is mediocre, they're making a very long road trip (and it's a noon game, which is tough for them with the time change), and they're starting a freshman QB. There's also going to be extra energy in the crowd compared to a typical noon game, as it's Harbaugh's home debut.

Those poor kids are going to be playing at 9am pacific time. They're wake up call for them is going to be around 4am Pacific time.

to last year's team than any good teams that Harbaugh has fielded. I see where you're coming from but I think that viewpoint ignores some of the long road ahead of us.

That may be, but I'm still curious as to how Harbaugh's teams have fared as favorites.

Anytime I see someone post about panicing, I think about the first time I clicked that. I had to go back and find that thread to steal your panic button. It gives me a good laugh.

Weber St's QB also struggled to hit wide open guys running free in the secondary all day!

I took Utah last week. If you're a homer and will bet Michigan every week that's one thing. But this week I see value and will be backing UM.

OSU @ Virginia Tech (+14)
Hawaii @ OSU (-38)
NTM @ Wisconsin (-31)
Wazzu @ Rutgers (-5.5)
Minnesota @ Colorado State (+5)
Oregon @ MSU (PK)
Doesn't look like they have anything for specific books up yet aside from Wynn on the bigger games. Bovada didn't have much yet either.

If you bet offshore, those 2 sites release lines early, they are currently available to wager on.
In terms of Vegas books, its all over the place but Wynn is the most consistent for opening first.

Neglected to check 5dimes, I'll have to take a look at BetOnline. I used to post a weekly thread when they were all out, but I rarely bet myself.
I did run into a story recently about a new sports betting platform running on the blockchain that was really interesting, but would quickly venture places we don't go here.

Did you watch any of Oregon State's game on Friday?
September 6th, 2015 at 10:00 PM ^
I'd like to see Michigan show they can make a big play before I gave up 2 tds to anyone.
Hoping Ian Bunting breaks out soon. Harbaugh wants to run 2 TE sets, and it'd probably be best for Rudock as well.
September 6th, 2015 at 10:05 PM ^
That would be comforting, but if Michigan made those plays or beat Utah, this spread would be closer to 17-21, not 14. Oregon State is one of the worst Power 5 conference schools, and this will be a freshman QB making his first start on the road against a good defense.
As long as our offense isn't completely stagnant, we should win by multiple scores.

Honestly, I think a 28-10 scoreline is relatively fair for UM, so I don't think this line is far off... All I know is that I'm ready for Saturday
