I fail to see the jocularity of this situation. Dost thou care to elaborate?

Another one?
August 12th, 2015 at 11:44 AM ^
named Norfleet on the football team last year. Why all of them left, no one knows.
August 12th, 2015 at 10:48 AM ^
Sorry to hear this, though it was expected. We'll always have Atomic Dog and sadly not much else.
August 12th, 2015 at 10:48 AM ^
No seriously - gone.
I mean it this time...he's outta here.
O.U.T. Out You Go
Ba-bye
I'm telling you, no turning back this time - he's GONE.
Gone, gone, gone.
Norfleet is no longer with us - as in, he checked out and left.
I swear to fucking God my ex-wife left quicker and with about the same number of announcements of her departure.

Ok, the last part made me laugh...

the sad thing was his dancing was the best thing he ever did on the field.

Sad but true.

which probably would have won the game had someone not committed a dumb penalty on the other side of the field.

Do you think Harbaugh would let him do this on the field? I'm sure that Bo wouldn't have.
August 12th, 2015 at 10:51 AM ^
I wish this young man all the best athletically and academically at wherever he enrolls and in life and thanks for your time here and giving it your all as you were entertaining. That being said, is this not the 3rd or 4th good bye Dennis post?

Yeah but OTHER than those three board posts and that one front page thread by Brian this hasn't really been reported yet.

Everyone gather 'round now
Sing us a song
Just in case by tomorrow
It happens he's gone
For two weeks and seven days
Our fair foreign friend
I have this feeling
We might never see Dennis again....

East of Omaha...
August 12th, 2015 at 10:59 AM ^
For a guy who did almost nothing while he was playing for UM(including in the classroom), he sure gets a lot of attention on this board.
Norfleet is the exact opposite of what Harbaugh is looking for in a player, and its frankly a great thing that he was broomed out the door.
August 12th, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
he grew up eating lead paint chips in inner city detroit. his grandma pulled him out of that situation and did her best to raise him by herself.
i'd like to see what you would have accomplished in those circumstances
August 12th, 2015 at 11:11 AM ^
That's not fair. There are plenty of people who come from difficult backgrounds on the Football team (example Denard). Many of them take advantage of this opportunity to play for and study in a world class university. Norfleet, unfortunately, did not take advantage of that.
August 12th, 2015 at 11:18 AM ^
Sure. But not all "difficult backgrounds" are equally difficult. Just because they both came from bad neighborhoods doesn't mean Denard had the same obstacles to overcome as Norfleet. I'm not making excuses for Norfleet, but it's important to have some perspective at the same time.
Norfleet is not Cissoko who dropped out to sell drugs (or got kicked out for selling drugs) and never really surfaced again as a college player. Norfleet is transferring schools to complete his degree (and play football).
August 12th, 2015 at 11:14 AM ^
I'm not quite sure I follow.
Are you saying that every kid who grows up eating paint chips and comes from a broken family in Detroit deserves a spot on the Michigan football team?
August 12th, 2015 at 1:21 PM ^
No, what I'm saying is that dumping on the kid like you are is classless.
Young people make mistakes. Wish him luck & move on.
August 12th, 2015 at 2:10 PM ^
Honestly, I don't think he's even made any mistakes. He just simply isn't Michigan material.
I'm an actual UM alum, meaning I actually care about the perception of things on the academic side.
August 12th, 2015 at 2:53 PM ^
So you're glad that Norfleet's off the team because you think that somehow that affects others' perceptions of your UM degree?
August 12th, 2015 at 4:09 PM ^
Absolutely.
August 12th, 2015 at 11:14 AM ^
I'm not sure that's true. Norfleet was a versatile athlete capable of playing (and willing to play) multiple positions to help the team. He may not have been a star, but he was exciting when he had the ball in his hands. By all accounts, he was a hard worker and was recognized as such by his teammates and coaches. He had 24 touches (receptions and rushes) in 2014, which would make him 6th on the team among returning players, ahead of Chesson and Butt. He averaged 7.3 yards per touch, which is solid. Let's not disparage him too much.
As for in the classroom, that comment isn't fair. He made it until the second semester in his junior year before he had any issues there. I knew a ton of kids in college who had academic issues, and none of them had football to worry about.
August 12th, 2015 at 11:21 AM ^
It's not like Norfleet went to all of his classes and struggled. He skipped exams.
College football is results-based. Norfleet was not a "results" type of player, and that type of thing can be a cancer to the team. Harbaugh agrees with me 100%.

Yes! The last I heard he had a 3.0 GPA but his problem was attendence and Finals his last semester.
August 12th, 2015 at 11:30 AM ^
Then re-word your top post. There's a huge difference between "does nothing" and "doesn't do enough."
And I don't think Norfleet is gone because he was a cancer to the team. He just didn't meet expectations. Don't extrapolate that any further.
August 12th, 2015 at 11:35 AM ^
I will absolutely stand by my first post. What exactly has he done for the team other than dance a few times?
August 12th, 2015 at 12:04 PM ^
You're not on the team, not in practice, the locker room or meetings. YOU have no idea what Norfleet contributed to the team aside from Atomic Dog- and what you can read on a Stat sheet.
And the records book will show he leaves M as one of the all time leaders in return yards. So if your definition of "contribution" only includes scoring touchdowns, then it's an uninformed view of the game. And entirely unsurprising...
August 12th, 2015 at 11:34 AM ^
Yeah fuck that fucking loser. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya Dennis amirite??
August 12th, 2015 at 11:53 AM ^
Whoa man that's uncalled for. Although Norfleet wasn't a good fit at UM, there's no need to piss on his grave.
August 12th, 2015 at 12:03 PM ^
you may have missed the sarcasm.
August 12th, 2015 at 12:10 PM ^
This is the point I was trying to make. Should have used /s
EDIT-And now I see you are the guy who was trolling in the first place. I was making fun of you being obnoxious about a college athlete.
