WSJ: Harbaugh at the Supreme Court
Today in Harbaugh news....he visited the Supreme Court.

Edited the thread title to include the WSJ. I'm not a subscriber and the link is working fine with me.
Enthusiasm unknown to mankind
I love this so much, I don't even know what to say. For any other head coach, this would be in the Onion, not the WSJ!
This^ I had to read it twice. I thought it was some fake Onion parody of the WSJ.
Turns out it was real.
He must be wearing the wings off that private jet.
You are clearly clickbaiting. Hope you like Bolivia!
the article wasn't paywalled for me and I don't have a WSJ subscription.
(and yes, I'm assuming you are checking at work/ through your work's VPN).
i have neither corporate nor personal WSJ subscription and i could access it just fine. I also felt like it was onion-ish. The legend of Harbaugh has grown so great, it's getting hard to tell fact from fiction.
You must be running a special internet that charges you per page.
I don't think you know what clickbaiting means.
Wrong thread?
Did you actually click on the link, or did you just assume it'd be paywalled? It worked fine for me.
I first read the title and thought that maybe someone photoshopped a picture of Harbaugh with the Justices. Open the link and a WSJ link...
The Onion would need to up their game to make a satire piece look like satire and not just Harbaugh being Harbaugh.
Feels contrived...
The Summer of Harbaugh is the greatest thing ever and I don't want it to end! I <3 Harbaugh!!!
Hopefully it smoothly transitions into the Fall of Harbaugh, in which he spends his time winning football games by three touchdowns, practicing cricket with Pakistani orphans, playing parcheesi with Gary Busey, and contributing a recipe for the new "Harbaugh-cake" to the Cracker Barrel breakfast menu.
My appreciation for Jim Harbaugh as a person continues to grow each day, with more and more impressive examples of his unique qualities.
My main question reading the article: This happened all the way back in April and yet no mention of it on the site. How did we not uncover this already?
It is curious. Also surprised that Jim didn't tweet about it. Make you wonder, have there been many other trips this offseason we don't even know about?
Nice to know at least one person with high integrity and a love for America was at the supreme court.
Couldn't just appreciate this and had to be that guy.
After all, Mark Dantonio probably spends a lot of time at the Ingham County Courthouse.
If Judge Thomas was really being honest with himself, I think he would even rule that Nebraska sharing the NC with Michigan in 1997 was unconstitutional.
What strikes me is Harbaugh genuinely seems like a kid who figured out his title could get him behind the scene for anything he considers "neat." If he shows up at an Adam Sandler premier and somehow shows up in that new Goosebumps movie, I'll know my theory holds its water.
“I’ve been around some enthusiastic people,” Harbaugh said of Thomas. “He’s one of the most enthusiastic people I’ve ever met.
I had no idea he still had functioning vocal cords.
Thomas got excited because he noticed a hair on Harbaugh's Coke can.

I love that someone asked him if he was John Harbaugh.
What doesn't this guy do? He is the man.

to be a regular Mgoblog feature: Where's Harbaugh Today? You know, with a standard Waldo head shot putting him in any myriad of photo opportunities, whether actual or virtual. He's way too capable of exploding into any situation without notice. He may not always be the life of the party, but he certainly enjoys the high life of being this university's head football coach.
It just goes to show that living in a cloistered world that everyone follows doesn't preclude you from living a rich and abundnt life. His Michigan coaching mentor understood that. And Bo's prodigy who once sat in Schembechler's chair and imagined himself The Michigan man, who Bo once swore would never play a down for him, and then later delivered on a guaranteed win over its arch rival, is just goofy and sentimental enough to disdain every media attempt to parse his character while still finding the time and boyish joy of crashing a wedding while being in charge at the best school in the land. Has he changed at all?
Forget Citzens United. This is Michigan united with the Michigan Man in charge.
...would be guessing which stories about him were made up and and which ones were true.

unusual 5-4 split.
To read Justice Scalia's dissent on why he didn't meet Harbaugh.
Although you probably cannot procure a one-on-one visit with even a single Justice, God Bless Jimmy Harbaugh, you CAN as a member of the public attend oral arguments presented before SCOTUS. Contact SCOTUS front desk to learn the particulars and help arrange a visit. Like not a few other lawyers, I am a member of the SCOTUS Bar, enjoy library and commissary privileges, and participate in amicus arguments and social events with the Justices. If in The District, and time permits, visiting SCOTUS for a day is one of the coolest things you can do. You might even want to attend interesting trials at the lower court levels once in your life. Harbaugh!
But the events of his first off-season—such as seeking out meetings at the supreme court and the justices agreeing to see him—aren’t part of some grand strategy to restore Michigan to glory. Harbaugh himself says he isn’t trying to be popular or build any more buzz around his team.
One of the best things about the Harbaugh era to date is that he really is not putting on a show for anyone - he really is simply being Jim Harbaugh - and every week, I think you have to ask yourself, "What will this man do next?". It seems to be a wonderful bonus feature of the Harbaugh era to date.
Harbaugh is not losing in Gin rummy
I love that a Supreme Court justice asked our coach for an autograph.
Imagine if Elena Kagan isn't the most surprising person he's signed an autograph for...

From the beginning of fall practice until the end of the season, he will be with the team. Maybe a recruiting visit or two on a bye week, but other than that...I love that we have a great football coach at Michigan. I also love that he draws attention to the program in so many novel ways without even trying to do so. Who's got it better than us!?
But when they do, it's about Harbaugh or Michigan:

4 out of 7 of the latest articles are either explicitly about Michigan, or feature an M prominently. The Harbaugh effect is strong.
