Brandon Peters ranked #3 at Elite 11, Day 2
So they tell us the second day of Elite 11 Competition is more difficult: Instead of throwing in a vaccuum, QBs throw to non-elite WRs against a non-elite defense. The object is to make throws and score touchdowns.
Brandon Peters was 6/6 for two touchdowns. As a result, 247 ranks him 3rd out of all QB prospects based on day 2's performance. This ranking does not include day 1 performance, at which Peters was also solid.

"Quietly, Peters continues to be one of the most consistent performers in this Elite 11 group. There was never a doubt on any of his throws, he spun it well and put it on the money for every throw. Rarely do you see Peters throw a wobbler or skip a football."

You'll get nothing, and like it!
Ahhhh, you are using the David Brandon method for leadership and success.
Depends on whether they speak highly about Michigan recruits or not, thus my opinion can change by the day.
Is that you?
Elite 11 is a nice event to showcase a QB's skillset. However, a lot of recruiting analysts will only give small to moderate increases/decreases to a QB's overall ranking. A lot of analysts have over/undervalued prospects through the years, so they have toned down the emphasis on the event.
They're probably worthless, but either way it's nice to see that a Michigan recruit is doing well. Can't wait to see how much better he can get under Harbaugh.
At least, it shouldn't hurt Michigan's chances with other recruits to have a committed QB prospect doing well at a nationally-recognized 7on7 drill.
Especially when it comes to elite WR recruits, of which we could use some more.
In any case, I'm happy for Peters and for Michigan. Give 'em hell, Peters!
Yes, good point about the WR recruits. A top QB at Elite 11 (plus, you know, HARBAUGH) should cause some top WRs to take a closer look at us.

Anything associated with Trent Dilfer, you should probably just ignore.
Yesterday he didn't even make the top 11. I put as much stock in these camp rankings as I do Bleacher Report power rankings in 2010.
After a year or two of sitting he can have a 1st round draft pick career here.

Peters is a 4 star though. #8 ranked Pro-style QB with potential to move up if he continues to perform well at these camps.
I love the way he carries himself. A great aura about him.
Hadn't heard of him before. How great a last name is that for a QB / student?!
There is something about this kid that makes me see "Superstar". I can't put my finger on what it is. I think it might be that he can be quick with out looking rushed, and that he seems to be able to make adjustments very quickly. Magnus may be able to comment about this, but his mechanics and ball placement seem to have improved by a good bit this summer.
...dude is a superb athlete.

Hearing he'd be wearing Nike in college bumped him up to the #3 ranking.

making the Elite 11 event is very likely a major accomplishment. But once there, it's a crapshoot and I don't think the specific rankings matter much, the actual "Elite 11" vs other 7 or so might be worthwhile but there's so much crap and Dilfer bias involved that they don't matter much.
A good example I liked was when Asante Woullard (spelling is wrong I'm sure) I think won, he was having a terrible day and just not throwing well at all (I think slightly injurted), but Dilfer liked him so he gave the guy the last 2 minute drill of the day that he scored on, so all the counselors there went nuts, shot him up the rankings and whatnot. He got major points for being clutch, and tough, and other stuff like that even though he wasn't very good at quarterbacking that day; even though other guys were clearly better at actually throwing a football.
Pretty sure Wilton Speight also complained about the huge imbalance of reps between some of the guys after he did it. So yeah, I like when a QB makes it, I don't care what Dilfer says after that.
At the 2012 Elite 11, Johnny Stanton was the #1 QB after Day 2. He signed with Nebraska in 2013. He had offers from both Nebraska and Oregon State (among other schools).
However, this spring he was 5th on Mike Riley's depth chart, behind returning starter Tommy Armstrong, two redshirt freshman and a former walk-on from Grand Island. A few weeks ago, Stanton "decided" to leave the Huskers and enroll at Saddleback Community College in Orange County.
He's not the only 2012 alumnus who's failed to make the transition to be a standout college QB. Based on the list below, I'd say Hackenberg and Goff are the only two who have.
2012 Elite 11 list
Asiantii Woulard - UCLA/South Florida
Max Browne - USC
Christian Hackenberg - Penn State
Zack Greenlee- Fresno State
Luke Del Rio - Alabama(walk on)/Oregon State/???
Jared Goff - Cal
Malik Zaire - Notre Dame
Johnny Stanton - Nebraska/???
Shane Cockerille - Maryland
Kevin Olsen - Miami/Towson/???
Joshua Dobbs - Tennessee
What ever happened to the Asiantii kid, didn't he win the whole thing somehow?
