OT... Best 4th of July food you had
I'm a huge bacon fan. HOWEVA, I'm generally not a huge fan of bacon wrapped foodstuffs (i.e. water chestnuts, shrimp, asparagus, etc) since it seems that some of the bacon, if not all of it, is flabby when it's cooked that way. It's just really hard to grill or cook bacon that's wrapped around something AND get it all crispy a la cooking it normally on a flattop.
Anyone else with me?

'Made New York strip steaks cooked over hickory wood and eggs scrambled with sharp cheddar cheese. 'Breakfast cocktails too..
Then threw some boneless, skinless chicken breasts on to have them waiting for lunch (secret to perfect chicken breasts is internal temp of 160 degrees)..
Burgers at Redamak's in New Buffalo, Mi.
Not traditional 4th of July fare, but my wife and I had amazing Chinese food last night. We had dinner at some friends' apartment; the wife is Chinese (parents even own a couple of Chinese restraurants), plus the wife of the other couple who were invited over is Chinese and brought her parents along. Tons of great homemade noodles, stuffed buns, dumplings, etc. Even had some good pigs' hooves and duck stomaches.

I'm intrigued by these "meat department" hot dogs. What more can you share?

Speide Sauce is amazing! One of the things I really miss from my time in Syracuse.
Blueberry and cherry brats from Howard's Meats in Lambertville, MI. Great brats there - apple, peach, chicken feta and spinach, jalepeno cheddar. Tons of good choices.

Bacon-wrapped Jalapeno Bratwurst. Not just any bacon, not just any brats, but bacon and brats from a meat market called Richland Meat Center. I found out about the bratwurst there a couple football seasons ago when a buddy brought some for our tailgate at AAGO, their brats are about the best I've ever had. That's my go-to meat market for special occasions and tailgating now; besides the jalapeno brats, they have at least a dozen other flavors, such as chedder, blueberry, pineapple, apple, and many, many others (and other kinds of sausages and steaks and lots of MEAT). Biggest problem is that the place is 50 miles away from here, so I usually make a stop when in the Kalamazoo area for other reasons.
