OT: Kevin Love coming back to Cleveland!
So much for the lure of LA. No great surpise but a relief none-the-less here in C-Town. Brian Windhorst just tweeted that Kevin Love will accept a five year, 110 million dollar offer from the Cavs. Said he has "unfinished business" in Cleveland.
I'm just amazed at these salary numbers. As an NHL guy watching their free agent spree it's sad to see how little the hockey guys get in comparison.
Great news. Thompson is a rebounding machine and much better on offense than people think. How do you feel about JR? I think they should let him walk. He made some of the dumbest plays I've ever seen in the Finals. I think they'll have plenty of offense without him.
He gone. I liked him too (despite JR being a complete and utter idiot) but he's looking for 25MM over three years and no way in Hell is he worth that. They'll get a stand in the corner and shoot 3s guy to replace Smith with when they trade Heywood IMO.
I would have taken JR Smith and I would have left Shumpert go in free agency.
Shumpert made nearly the same amount of dumb plays as him and I don't think he is as good a shooter.
While he is goofy, JR Smith gets a pretty bad rap because of the past silliness, but he can actually create a shot and is a better shooter.
I saw Shumpert blowing defensive assignments continuously, make just as many dumb plays, and not as good a pure shooter as JR Smith.
Both have their faults, but I feel bad for JR Smith if the Cavs pass on him.
I hope cleveland never gets a championship and every team from that state rots

Any cap room for D Wade? I hear he's looking for a sweet hook-up.
I hope the Cavs miss the playoffs every year, with Lebron or not.

but a topic on Ohio sports on here? Tigers yes. Red Wings yes. But a team where probably 90% of the fanbase loves the Scarlet and Grey? Nuh uh
How about teams from New Orleans? Are posts on their FA signings OK? Because I'm pretty sure there was a post on Anthony Davis AKA "the brow" that was deemed board-worthy.
You gotta post these OT threads late at night when all the cranky people are in bed.

I'm sitting here in my Cavs gear yelling at all the stupid Bulls fans outside my house. Here's to Love, Irving, Thompson, James and whoever else wants to play. And to MGrowOld!
Good for your team, though I enjoy Cleveland losing. I never want them to win a damned thing!
Wow, I'm surprised he signed for five years! I think he could've signed a one or two year deal and then upped his value even more when the cap goes up. But if that's not his priority, more power to him. I'm also kind of surprised he's not going to LA. I thought a return to the WC would appeal to him greatly. But winning now > being "home" , for many
Pistons lost out on Danny Green and Demarre Carroll. They need to land either Draymond or Tobias Harris. Sounds like talks have broken down between them and their respective teams. Stones should just offer the max. A $15 million a year contract today is realistically going to be like 10 or 11 when the cap jumps in a couple of years.
I think Harris is somewhat overrated, but I wouldn't mind him. I hope his shooting in 14-15 is more indicative of how he'll shoot compared to the rest of his career. Love Draymond as he's from Michigan and is a veteran. Also provides us with some positional flexibility (though we already have that as KCP and Johnson can play the 2 or 3).

Should have traded him to Minnesota for Wiggins and some random big man like Bennet.
