OT; Will tiger ever win another major?

Submitted by smitty1983 on
Tiger is showing his worst round in major history right now. So I ask the mgogolfers, will he ever win another major? I think he will contend in one or two more but I think jacks record is safe. The only way I see him winning another is if he pleads for butch Harmon for his help and honestly maybe a switch back to titlest clubs even though that's nearly impossible.

When someone has a huge dropoff, there's usually a pretty good and fairly uncomplicated explanation. Big injury, etc. I'm honestly not sure what that is in Tiger's case, unless maybe it's a combination of smaller things without his dad there to keep him focused.

I think he could still squeak one out--and maybe more.

And just to build on that, when someone has a huge dropoff, there's usually a pretty good and fairly uncomplicated explanation. Big injury, etc. I'm honestly not sure what that is in Tiger's case, unless maybe it's a combination of smaller things without his dad there to keep him focused.

He needs to start popping chicks again and whatever his old routine was.  Now that hes divorced, what does it matter.

Other than that maybe surround himself with his old crew.  Otherwise..

is why did this happen.   Probably the most rapid and epic decline of a top athlete ever.  Is sports success predicated mostly on state of mind?

Tiger's body is breaking down because of the PEDs.  He's physically incapable of winning another major right now.  You're seeing a lot of this physical degradation with a bunch of the Anthony Galea patients.  I don't think it's a coincidence.  Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, and Rafa Nadal, for example.  And those are just the ones we know about.

In addition to Tiger's own limitations, the field he's playing against has changed.  The guys that Tiger used to intimidate from the late tee are no longer the leaders on the tour.  Top players on the tour have no memory of losing a lead to a hard-charging Tiger on a Sunday afternoon.  No one's afraid of him anymore.

has Tiger ever come from behind on Sunday to win a major?  That isn't to say he's never not been in the lead on Sunday in a major he's won, but for the 12 majors he's won, he's been the 54 hole leader in all of them, no?

His loss to YE Yang in the PGA I think was the first time he didn't win a major after he held the 54 hole lead.

I know every legend gets old and slower and less successful, and it's sad to watch, but Tiger just flat out hit the wall. It's shocking to see the kind of just instant decline in his game. His competitive spirit seems completely gone.

The way he's playing. he'll be lucky to make a few more cuts, let alone win another major --- it's really tough to watch. He should probably just let it go, play in a few charity tournaments, and get ready for his entry into the senior tour.

Those are a thing of the past for Tiger, I doubt he has even a 10% chance of winning just one more, almost no chance of ever getting to within range of the only Buckeye I ever cheered for (other than Chris Spielman while he was with the Lions and Joe Sparma while pitching for the Tigers), Jack Nicklaus.

Even winning some 'who cares?', run-of-the-mill weekly tour tournament is looking more and more doubtful.  But if he does, the media will be all over it, proclaiming "Tiger Returns!" to all, before the ink is dry on that particular paycheck.
