OT: Former Illinois player tweets about player mistreatment
Former Illinois OL Simon Cvijanovic has been tweeting all night about player mistreatment and many other accusations. Think anything will come of this?

Milk in a bag, usually served in the cafeteria for elementary schoolers etc.
Stabby stab with the straw n shit.
So it is the milk version of a Capri Sun?

It doesn't seem like this is a kid with an axe to grind over playing time or any other similar kinds of gripes. He was a recognized team leader who played. With all the shit going down around football these days, sounds like the kid just wanted to take a stand on something. Just weird to do it on Twitter.
Yeah. Would have been better as a long Facebook post or something.
This is the same coaching staff who set up shop at Penn State right after the Sandusky-related NCAA sanctions were imposed. As far as antics go, I wouldn't put anything past Beckman.
I tried to read through some tweets but gave up. Where is the mistreatment? Beckman is trying (and failing) to turn that program around, and players may not agree with his techniques but unless there is actual physical abuse I'm pretty sure this goes on all over the country.

He quit the team and they kept him on scholarship.
He was throwing a fit earlier acting like they were leaving him out to dry, but when Tim Beckman made a statement saying he's still on scholarship he made an about face.
My favorite tweet of the bunch
The @NCAA doesn't care, the @BigTenNetwork doesn't care, and the @Illinois_Alma doesn't care #followthemoney

What the strange thing to me is why in the world they extended Beckman's contract. The guy is a complete loser and has done nothing, literally nothing, to deserve an extension.
But hey, if Illinois wants to continue to kill their program, go right ahead. Another easy win on the schedule as long as Beckman is there.
Why would they fire him after last season? They had a few decent big ten wins and made a bowl game.
It does seem like Illinois is going nowhere fast with Beckman at the helm. Too bad Michigan only plays them twice in the next 5 years, in 2016 and 2019.
I have no idea when the last time we played Ill was - 2009?

My guess is that they just didn't have many better options than Beckman to replace him with, and if they got rid of him, who would do a better job. Any coach worth his salt would be able to go to a far better program than Illinois. But he won't survive another 6-7 type of year.

but it's got way too much of a "jet fuel can't melt steel beams" vibe

There are no two words in the Enlish language more harmful than 'good job'.
Yup that's why the former student before the protaganist was so great he killed himself
Come on. It's not realistic at all. People don't become great drummers by playing as loud and fast as they can alone in some room hour after hour.
I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't take any life lessons from it.
I played football in high school and when I say played I mean practiced, ran sprints, and lifted weights. After the game on Friday even if I didn't play I still showered. Why was that? Because I looked like I played from the diving I did on the ground to get my pants a little dirty.
