Nebraska takes lead over Michigan in spring game attendance
Nebraska's crowd of 76,881 beats Michigan's 60,000 in the all important spring game attendance race. The totals for Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida aren't in yet.

How I feel when I drive back home to Grand Rapids from Denver:
was full of shit man. . . .
What would Michigan have drawn if we were the only P5 college and there were no professional sports here?
City by the Bay, John Denver.
You go up 25 and then across 80? 80 across Nebraska is better than 70 across Kansas. Not much better, but better.

Penn State also got over 70,000 last year and there's plenty to do in that state.
But not necessarily in and around "Happy Valley"
Yeah, in Philly maybe.
State College and area you might as well be in the middle of nowhere. They have cable tv and internet though...

Mike Riley fever must be at an all time high there
he's the 2nd biggest coaching hire of this offseason.
Maybe 2nd biggest in the B1G, but not nationally.

Nebraska had more people at their Spring Game than a max capacity crowd at MSU's stadium.
You're half right—wikipedia lists the Sparty official capacity as 75,005, but then sez the record crowd at Spartan Stadium is 80, 401.
Not to mention that we're ridiculing them for doing the same thing we love to do (watch college football).
Good for them for drawing that huge crowd.
My original thought was, "how in Sam Fuck are they more excited about Mike Riley than we are about Harbaugh?" But an excellant point was made, Ive been to Nebraska, and there is NOTHING to do there except worship a college football team. And shuck corn.
Mike Riley is a better coach than you'd think who turned out some pros in Corevallis. I think Nebraska people were tired of being gashed for 400 rushing yards game after game, losing basically every top 25 matchup and Pelini was also super abrasive. You gotta do better than 9-4 to be a dick. Cool cat though...
Even if Riley turns out to be another Pelini at least Nebraska has managed to generate hope for at least a few years which they didn't have in Pelini anymore.
Hype sells tickets.
Gary Pinkel is 15-38 doesn't mean he is a bad coach. Not saying Riley is elite, just don't think you can be with Oregon State for 12 or whatever years and be a bad coach. I remember they always used to upset top 5 teams
In three years, they'll be looking for another coach.

But one could argue that it's a lot harder to win at Oregon State (especially now that Oregon is a powerhouse) than it is at Nebraska.
Also, Pelini and the AD apparently didn't get along at all.
I wasn't aware there was a spring game attendance race nor was I aware that it was all important.
You were aware, but not fully aware.
I know people laugh at him and the hire, but I think he will do a pretty solid job there.
You don't even have to be that good to win the West Division.
Its more of a hunch I have. I actually think he will be decent.
Their schedule is easy.
Also, it would be nice for someone to do something in the West besides having Wisconsin lose 60-0 every year in the Big Ten title game.

While that was probably the worst game I've seen Wisconsin play (and I lived in Madison during the Don Morton years), they're 2-1 in the Big Ten Championship game.
That includes a 70-31 win over Nebraska the year without Russell Wilson.
That Eastern Washington squad was no joke. They would have been pretty good in FBS.
