It was just announced that Derrick Rose will miss the rest of the season because of another knee injury. What do you think we'll see first, Derrick Rose play 82 games in a season or Jim Harbaugh coach the Raiders?

but he should just give it up. He's lucky that he's in the NBA so every penny of his deal will still go to him (unless there are odd injury based retirement rules). He's made millions even while hurt the last 3 years or so. Many thought he looked apprehensive after the first injury so I can't image he'll be anywhere close to what he was coming into the NBA. A rare talent that I think would have eventually won a title in Chicago with their coach & cast. At best he'll keep playing but teams will sign him as a role player, limiting his minutes. The Rose that was drafted well never be back. Very unfortunate as he was on his way (if not already) to being a top 3-5 NBA player.

Man I hate the Bulls. Growing up they always pushed around the Pistons when Jordan was there, then again for their most recent streak of success. That being said Derrick is a hell of a player and started to attack again rather than settle for the threes he did so often early in the season. Wish him the best, guy is a stud.

Actually, it was the other way around. The Pistons used to push Jordan around so much, it changed the way the game was played; hence the Jordan Rules. The Knicks( those guys kicked ass!) teams of the 90's were probably the last of the bruisers that made you pay the price for trying to take it to the rack. Kind of sucks MJ and the Bulls were peaking just as the Bad Boys were eclipsing because that would have been a damn good rivalry had it kept going a few more years. Joey D gets a lot of run for his managment decisions, but he did a good job of defending Jordan during their championship runs.

With all these knee injuries, you'd think Rose was playing football at Michigan or training with Aaron Wellman. Or could he possibly be an Iowa running back?

Meniscus isn't a big deal, having torn one myself, and having retorn it after surgery, i have yet to have it repaired and I am still pretty mobile and in no pain. He will be back, but I feel his pain. Knee surgery is not very fun.

They didnt say he would miss the rest of the season. Just that there is no time table. Apparently he was told after his first meniscus repair that another tear was possible and then they would just remove it. This is what happened with Westbrook and he came back in about two months.

I hate to say it because I like his game, but I think he's going to be another Bernard King. Like with King, people are going to wonder what could have been with Rose if it weren't for those damn knees.

First D Rose, then Patrick Kane out for 6 - 10 weeks. It is really crummy.

Have to say, I'm very interested to see how the Bulls do without Rose. I'm not convinced that they will wither away to nothing. With Gasol, Noah, Butler, and Mirotec, I think they might go pretty far, especially if Aaron Brooks and Heinrich can manage at PG.
