Your Unpopular Movie Opinions
Since this is today's theme, I've always had a very unpopular view of a certain movie, and would love to hear other's opinions based off of movies and/or actors. Mine: I think Wedding Crashers is a terrible movie, and not funny.

After I saw Cable Guy, I refused to watch any other movie with Broderick in it. He's terrrible.

Amazing. I just posted a nearly identical comment, except it's Jim Carrey that blows.

doesn't mean it's an unpopular opinion. That is one of the best shows on TV right now.

This will sound arrogant, but I hate most mainstream Hollywood movies of the past decade or so.
A few movies I prefer to watch are some movies that directors put out before they were huge, like Decline and Fall of Western Civilization and Suburbia by Penelope Spheres, Dead Alive by Peter Jackson, and Slacker by Richard Linklater.
Fuck all these comic book movies, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Ridiculous action movies. Let's get back to the 80's when directors/producers had the balls to take a chance.

I realize that the film is garbage, but I kept giving it chance after chance and after about the 6th time I started liking it.

That may not sound unpopular, but I am absolutely astounded at how many people I know that liked it. It's got a 6.9 in imdb. ...HOW???? Honestly, the first half of the movie was some of the worst comedy I have EVER seen. I was actually starting to feel embarassed for the actors. It was...not good. If not for the fairly amusing second half of the movie, I would rate it alongside such blunders as "Jack and Jill" and "The Love Guru", both movies which I know are terrible even though I've never seen either.

Mel Brooks is overrated. His movies aren't terrible but, meh.

Burn After Reading is the best Coen Brothers movie and I like Revenge of the Sith more than Return of the Jedi.

Fun thread! A few random thoughts:
Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, and Jim Carey arent that funny. Of the three Ferrell has had the best moments, but he's so overrated its hard to appreciate them.
Quentin Tarentino isnt 1/10 the genius everyone makes him out to be. Pulp Fiction was great and the rest of his movies have been 'ok but dont worry if you missed it' territory.
Tom Cruise still has the goods and consistantly delivers worthwhile movies to this day.
The trendy of gritty realism for classic franchises like batman and bond is a good idea in theory but boring in execution. Even Connory had a wink and a smile to his Bond, and the other than the great performance by Heath Ledger the batmans were meh. Not a fan of Christopher Nolan in general, Momento was great and Inception was cool, but the rest? Pretty weak.

3 complaints about it:
1) the script could have used some work to avoid some of the most formulaic elements.
2) the time thing was too reminiscent of Inception
3) the ending. starting with the Tesseract, the movie just gets stupid.
