OT: Rece Davis Replacing Chris Fowler on Gameday
Come this fall, @ESPN_ReceDavis will replace @cbfowler on @CollegeGameDay @espn #CollegeGameday
— James Andrew Miller (@JimMiller) February 5, 2015
Felt like this was coming after Davis was center stage in the CFP Gameday-type coverage and Fowler took on calling games this season, but still kind of amazing that Fowler won't be at the desk this fall.February 5th, 2015 at 8:07 PM ^

Another great season in the books. See you guys next fall!!! #LoveMyFans

I think Brad Nessler and Todd Blackledge are the best.

I agree. I wish Nessler got the primetime gig over Fowler.

Not much better than Todd's Taste of the Town.
But overall, I don't think anyone comes close to Gary Danielson. Him and Verne are my favorites

Last season was rough. I found it uncomfortable to watch most of the time. Not sure he should drive so probably not a good idea to have him be a member of a live national telecast. While im cringing, desmond, kirk and fowler are laughing to try to make it come off as funny.
ESPN cant wait for his contract to be up.

After how they did the NC game...
I guess Fowler will just focus on calling the big game of the week.

You know who the perfect replacement would be one day? Our good ole Michigan Man Les Miles.
He would fit the role well.

Corso can barely put together coherent sentences.
4 years ago you were absolutely correct...now he just can't keep up. Similar to the final years of Keith Jackson.
It's awful to watch.
He'll say something and the other guys just kind of laugh politely and move on to the next thought. Half the time Herbie finishes his sentences for him because he can't articulate what he's trying to say.
He's go the energy, but his brain simply can't keep it like it used to so he just bounces around like a bumbling old man these days.
Lou Holtz has his speech problems, but at least he can make an argument or provide some insight. You can tell his brain is still firing. Corso is a shell of his oldself. Like I said, just like Jackson late in his career.
The comment about Les Miles is a good one. I can't think of another high energy old guy, but Corso needs to be replaced in a year or so.
They've already started to phase him out. He opens the show, does like one segement in the middle, and then does his mascot head. That's it. Pollack and Des are on far more than Corso these days.

FOUR.
That right there says enough...he's not even "THAT" Corso anymore. That was the funny old man Corso.
This one just sits there like a mummy.
I figured when you got all excited about him, that was the version of Corso in your head. He's not even close to that anymore.
He said Ah Fuck It in 2011.
That would be like me saying "TIM TEBOW IS A BONAFIDE NFL QB!!" That ship sailed awhile ago. In 2011, it was fine to argue for Tebow. There was still some unknown. Now? In 2015? No one is wondering if Tebow can be a QB in the NFL. Time has passed my friend.
Ah fuck it was pretty much Corso's last hurrah. Now he should be relegated to just putting on mascot heads at the end of the show each week.

Yes...
But the best Corso "gaffe" is when he said Arkansas shot their wad. Herbstreit's reaction is priceless

seriously? Musberger has diarrhea of the mouth, he gets way ahead of himself everytime something dramatic happens during the games in the worst kind of way... Keith Jackson is the only one id rather have come back than anyone
February 6th, 2015 at 1:58 AM ^
Jackson is an icon. Musberger was a barnacle.
February 6th, 2015 at 6:46 AM ^
for Musberger was when he was frothing at the mouth over the QB of Alabama's girlfriend during the NC Game a few years ago. Kinda Creepy!

the beginning of the end for "Bwent" was when he was frothing at the mouth over the Alabama QB's girlfriend while broadcasting the NC Game a few years ago. That was creepy!

Ya know... you can edit a previous post rather than slightly wordsmith an existing one.

Thanks. I got a double post because my first post didn't look as if it landed. There was some kind of 501 error. So I reposted and tried to clean up my wording a bit by editing, thinking the first post failed. So much to learn, I suppose.
