Not sure how reliable Reuse Recruting is but...

Video coming with Roquan Smith: "I'm not 100% confident in this...I'm going to see how I feel...I just knew I had to do something"

If it's not UCLA, it'll be Georgia. I've seen this movie involving recruits from the deep South too many times already. Michigan's always high on their list, but almost never high enough to really make the difference.

entertaining, recruiting and NSD would make a great reality show for over the top college football sportsniks.  All the wrangling, changing minds, money under the table...haha it would be sumpthin

top recruits to get them there?  I get it that it's LA and a beautiful campus.  But sheesh.  The guy hasn't been there all that long and has had one good year.  Must be one convincing salesman.

He's been there three years, turned the culture around, produced the latest Butkus winner and is developing a steady pipeline of NFL draftees. He's an ex-NFL coach as well and can sell I know what it takes to get to the league. Combine that with the LA location and good academics and it's pretty obvious that UCLA was kind of a sleeping giant that just had to get out of its own way. There's also the fact that USC has So Cal on lockdown so they have to go national.

UCLA with the shadiest move I've seen in a while.

If they dont let those kids out of their LOI, then they will have to play for a year then transfer and sit out a year.

Wow. Classy as fuck.

Every year it seems like we're in a last minute battle for multiple top recruits to a different school, and it seems like we keep losing that battle. We lost top prospects to USC one year, then kids to Oregon the next, then kids to Auburn, then top kids to Stanford, then Ole Miss, now we're losing a multiple prospect battle with UCLA. I can't draw any conclusions from it, it's just strange. Love the kids we've got, and I'm very excited about their future, but I gotta wonder which new school multiple top targets are gonna pick over us at the last minute next year, you know?

So apparently Smith was busy talking with people after his announcement and didn't get around to sending in his LOI. UCLA called him asking what the holdup was. He was then about to send in the paperwork when word about the Falcons job hit the street. So, question: did the person from UCLA who called asking about the LOI know about the Falcons job at that time? If I were Smith, that's one question I'd ask UCLA.
