Some New Names on the Harbaugh Radar
Some new names out there - and some fun info on who Harbaugh is following.
ATH/WR Ryan Davis out of FL tweeted today he received an offer and apparently someone from staff will be down to visit today (Thu), along with Bama and Miami, FL.
Just talk to Jim Harbaugh!! Received an Offer from Michigan Wolverines #GoBlue
— Ryan Davis (@thaRD5) January 15, 2015
TomVH had reported Michigan had reached out to him Jan 6th. He sounds like a slot WR type at 5'10 170 lbs. Rivals has him top 50ish overall and 8th WR, 247 is less enthusiastic but still top 200. Obviously if he commits Rivals will be correct. Crystal ball is Gator oriented so Durkin knows about him obviously. FSU is #2 with UK #4 (Marrow!). His offer sheet is pretty much the entire top 25 - for some odd reason offers from teams like MSU Wisconsin OSU but no Michigan until today. Grrr last staff....
Some of the beat writers are following who Jim follows on twitter to gauge interest. If interested, today we saw KLS, Kinnel (commit), Davis, and Clark (and the Pope). I don't think the Pope has eligibility but it can't hurt to have him in the film room. Chris Williamson is the other guy he followed; this name was floated on the board late last night, 3 star CB with a loaded offer list.
The other new name is TE Aliz'e Jones.
- Jones is the #1 TE for 247 out of Vegas who is a UCLA commit. (Clark #2) Rivals has him #2 behind Clark.
I had not realized Mora had such a top rated TE in this class - makes it strange Clark would be considering UCLA so strongly.
An interesting year in terms of the cross pollination between UCLA and UM recruits.

Ryan Davis' highlight reel is just ok.
January 15th, 2015 at 12:34 AM ^
Meh.
He didn't seem very fast at all during the slow motion parts.
Do not want.
January 15th, 2015 at 12:36 AM ^
Don't need to see for speed aspect. 4 star 5'10 WR out of FL - going to go with the assumption he would immediately be the fastest player we would have on the roster in 2015.
January 15th, 2015 at 6:31 AM ^
For shame.
January 15th, 2015 at 4:38 AM ^
You forgot the /s
This is the kind of elusive guy with SPEED that we desperately need. JH obviously sees the Need for Speed.

Are you new here?
/s.

There are many comments on the blog that are so out of touch that they could (should) be sarcastic... but they aren't intended to be. Things like not understanding the insanity of wasted red shirts; not wanting Hogan because it would insult Shane; etc., etc..
The sarcastic comments on Ryan Davis came from veteran posters so I got the sarcasm, but for the benefit of those who are less tuned in the '/s' is helpful.

/s destroys all humor in a good joke. If you want people to use /s, it means that you hate humor, happiness, and all things that bring respite from the cold darkness that awaits us all.
January 15th, 2015 at 11:32 AM ^
If you have to tell me, it needs work.
January 15th, 2015 at 9:58 AM ^
Therefore no one can have redshirts.
I suppose this was only Hoke's policy...
January 15th, 2015 at 6:31 AM ^
On the flip side, Chris Williamson's film is pretty damn good.
January 15th, 2015 at 7:59 AM ^
And Denard was faster.
January 15th, 2015 at 9:37 AM ^
He sure presses R2 a lot

Love me some 'crootin when Jimmy H is leading the way with his staff of legends by his side.
January 15th, 2015 at 12:35 AM ^
would be ridiculous for UCLA or M. I'd bet we get Clark and Jones stays west.

If a tight end recruit's ultimate goal is the NFL then there's no one better to play for than Harbaugh.

Davis' ball security when he is in the middle of juking 4 or 5 defenders out of their cleats is a little suspect. We might not want him.
January 15th, 2015 at 12:46 AM ^
A fair point.
I am also hoping we focus solely on guys who can juke out 7+ guys on any single play. After all, this is Michigan fergodsakes.

Either that is the worst tackling defense in history or maybe that kid is good. I haven't seen that many spin moves since I used to play Madden back on the Sega Genesis with Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas.

From what it sounds like, he has a pretty messed up family situation and is desperate to get out of Michigan. I doubt he decommits from USC.
But of course the only thing we know about recruiting is that we never really know anything.

Hayes is a must-get. We haven't had an athlete like that at the LB spot in a long time.

It's his fourth. He went to Orchard Lake St. Mary's, then somewhere in California (Bonaventure?), then to Cass Tech, and now to Ann Arbor Skyline. The kid missed most of his sophomore season due to injury and then all of his junior year from transferring.

Oh wow the highlight film lol. Dude plays wildcat QB a bit and basically looks like Denard Robinsn running.
Not to go all Fred Jackson but the 2nd guy he reminds me of when he runs is Antwaan Randle El when he was Indiana's QB.

I appreciate the details. Just curious, as I do not follow things as closely as you.
Do you pick up details of UM offers and other recruiting details from following JH, through rivals/247/scout, or from other recruiting methods?
January 15th, 2015 at 1:10 AM ^
Get on twitter and follow names like TVH, Balas, Webb, etc and you should be set.
Or do what I do and just follow Bagheera.

That guy's weird. If he also has his own youtube channel, I'm sure my son watches him.
Thanks for the details.

What the hell? Where's Champeen?
January 15th, 2015 at 12:54 AM ^
Do you have his practice film? That's what we REALLY want to see. How does he practice?
January 15th, 2015 at 12:57 AM ^
I don't have footage but when your staff keeps a statistic for "jock straps lost on the field" and the # is >30, it probably means you have a decent offensive player in your practice.
January 15th, 2015 at 1:07 AM ^
Until I see some quotes or some film about execution in practice and having a good week of practice, I don't think I can get behind this offer.
But what I can do...is THIS!
January 15th, 2015 at 2:49 AM ^
He's too upright.
January 15th, 2015 at 10:01 AM ^
I want to see videos of these recruits offseason training.
January 15th, 2015 at 12:54 AM ^
Holy octopus. Watch the play starting at 2:23. Crazy.
January 15th, 2015 at 12:57 AM ^
Well cot damn.
January 15th, 2015 at 1:05 AM ^
Kid clearly can see the field and isn't afraid of "changing" direction.
January 15th, 2015 at 3:25 AM ^
What direction is he going in? I can't tell. Looks like he is going in every direction at once. But he ends up in the end zone at the end.
January 15th, 2015 at 2:54 AM ^
but I'm not seeing that elite B1G speed.
