Wheatley is the coach I was really hoping we would land. What a staff Harbaugh has put together.
Isaac and Green should benefit tremendously from Wheatley and Drevno on the OL
Remember when Desmond said Peppers was the only player who seemed to have a fire under him in practice? I cannot wait for Spring practice, better yet I'm keeping my fingers crossed to buy season tickets for the first time!

Yeah, we didn't get a strength coach we wanted. We'll just have to settle for having Jim Harbaugh as a head coach and an all-star group of assistants.

but Biakabutuka was a close second. Can't forget his 313 yards rushing vs. Ohio in '95. My only question in regards to Wheatley, how does he let his son grow up being a Trojan fan?

I read Magnum PI's comment as sincere. It was a great story you gave. I really like stories of fathers passing on lessons of character and integrity.

I love this hire!
Also want to thank Fred Jackson. Things slowed down towards the end, but he was a top notch recruiter and coached some great backs at Michigan.

Good hire will be great seeing all these names from the past on Saturday afternoon!

I grew up watching TW laying waste to droves of fools but don't know much about him as a coach. How is he as a skill developer and recruiter. I am assuming that since he made it to the NFL he must know a thing or two but is he as great in the mind of a high school senior?

That is true. He went to Robichaud and started off coaching there.

A bit earlier-1969 and 1970. 1970 was first co-ed year. Girls wear on 3rd floor. Woo hoo!

but these pictures remind me why I'm nostalgic for the helmet stickers. Look at that guy. He was an incredible football player and has made us proud ever since.
While I support whatever his son chooses to do, it would be a shame if he didn't carry on the family name here.

If he comes, that would be great, but I don't blame him for going to another school.....so long as it's not another B1G school. Or ND.

Welcome back again Tyrone! He was a volunteer asst track coach for UM in 2005. Dude was still fit and had a look of intensity whenever I saw him at indoor meets.
Hart might've had more yards, but I'd take Wheatley any day of the week. It seemed like he had a 60-yd td run every game.

but Wheatley is the most exciting back I've ever seen at Michigan (started watching in mid-80's). Guy was a threat to score on every carry.

Who can forget the 93 Rose Bowl where Michigan was down start of the 3rd Q and we had a miserable 12 yard return to be near our goal line. Second play from the line of scrimmage Wheatley takes the ball, breaks a tackle at the line, cuts to the sideline, and that was it. I had never seen such a combination of size and speed. I think Green can be that kind of back. We actually have great depth there and Wheatley can do what no one has fixed so far: make Michigan into a running team again.
