@marcelluswiley: Michigan's candidates outside of Harbaugh include Sean Payton & Jason Garrett. Haha, now that's funny!

That bumps my acceptance level of him that he is correctly laughing those off. Apparently he's at least somewhat in tune

What is Michigan waiting for to hire a coach? Why miss out on this recruiting period? Unless you believe you have something WELL worth it!

Well hello there, Mr. Marcellus the well-informed sports dude with all of the hot tips from inside sources. December 15 - January 14 is a dead period in this here football bowl subdivision thing, so...
December 22nd, 2014 at 3:11 AM ^
Michigan's new coach will start recruiting immediately, whenever he is officially hired. The dead period only prohibits in person contact with recruits. That's a small part of normal recruiting anyway.
December 22nd, 2014 at 7:16 AM ^
I wonder how many recruits Harbaugh would get with a simple phone call?
December 22nd, 2014 at 7:56 AM ^
Chris Clark, the TE, without a doubt

This is where Brian Cole's dad is doing this process right. I was shocked when Cole committed to us. It really appeared either MSU or OSU was going to land him. I have 2 close contacts to Cole and Michigan was third.
Additionally, one of my close contacts also told me Cole was most likely decommitting the week after Hoke was let go.
I give Kudos to Cole's dad for wanting to wait until the next coach was hired, THEN making a decision. Kids that decommitted immediately without knowing who the new coach was or speaking to them is, well, a little immature (with exceptions to possible early enrollees).

I don't know where I saw it-- maybe in one of these comments- so I am not sying it's true but I read that certain recruits were affirmed of the likelyhood or even confirmed the fact that JH would be the next Meeecgingan football coach.
If true, I say the Dad/kid deserve kudos for keeping a lid on it. That, s doing there part. It may also explain, along with other insiders, how so many bets were coming in. People with a vested interest knew/know but have been aprised of the need for discretion.
And, that is where Hacket deserves kudos.

In a world of increasingly sterile and superficial relationships I find the emphasis on the coach and recruit/player to be refreshing in most cases and creepy in others. In Brady's case it truly seemed that the relationships he forged were very strong with his players and recruits. If a recruit has another coach he feels comfortable with willing to extend an offer his way I feel he's doing the right thing by switching as soon as possible. Fans don't give much thought to 'excess' recruits after their positions have been filled in a class. But these kids don't have unlimited time to commit to offers. More often than not it probably behooves them to choose the next best situation rather than waiting for a coaching staff which may not have the same chemistry as the previous regime.
December 22nd, 2014 at 9:54 AM ^
As much as people want to believe recruits are choosing a school to attend, the relationship a recruit has with the coaching staff is huge. With the top end recruits they've been recruited by schools for 2-3 years. They've probably had numerous phone conversations as well as face to face conversations with various members of a schools coaching staff. Yeah, there's some recruits who put a lot of stock in the actual school but for most of these kids the relationship they have with the coaching staff is going to be one of, if not the, primary decision as to where they go.

Wheatley might be the tight end unless we take two or he playes DE.

Dead period or no, Michigan's next coach is missing out on this recruiting period. That said, hopefully, it's Harbaugh and the wait is worth it.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:59 AM ^
True, but there are very few open scholarships this year so if there was a year to "miss out" this is it.
We have 6 hard commits, roughly 12 open spots. Of the six, four are 4*, one is a kicker and the other a legacy. We're in good shape. All the new coach has to do get a few of the de-committed back on board and add a few more.
December 22nd, 2014 at 9:11 AM ^
ok but no visiting recruits
December 22nd, 2014 at 11:49 AM ^
I understand how the dead period works. How many commitments are going to happen between now and Janury 14 thanks to some phone calls?

For some reason, my posts cut off, but I was trying to say:
Either Wiley is the biggest Michigan troll ever or there's some sort of smoke he's seeing that the rest of the national guys haven't seen yet.

Maybe they were hoping the tire fire would seem to burn a little lower with a new QB. Harbaugh does have to approve any trade.
December 22nd, 2014 at 1:52 AM ^
Perhaps the Bears were trying to showcase Jimmy Clausen as tradebait? Good luck with that!

Umm no.
Cutler just signed a 7 year 120M contract. San Fran is not taking on a 31 year old guy who does not get along with teammates and be stuck with him at that salary cap. That makes no sense.
Those type of contracts dont get traded. In fact it's nearly impossible to move veterans period nowadays. Look how often baseball moves players vs football.
I dont get what Wiley was even trying to say frankly.

Kaep who took them to 2 NFC championship games and was one play away from winning them a super bowl is the reason the 49ers sucked this year?
I thought the O-line being super beat up and the defense missing key players like Willis (IR all season), Bowman (apparently just activated off the PUP, Aldon smith (suspended for 9 games).
December 22nd, 2014 at 7:18 AM ^
why the SF management would let JH stick around? What's the point? Unless they don't have a first round pick, it's worth their while to get as bad of a record as possible.

At least on its surface, it's an interesting strategy and probably one you wouldn't pull out unless you were indeed shopping for someone / something, the one which reads "We're so desperate for a coach / player that we're going to start Jimmy Clausen."
If it is too late, good. That's at least consistent with the report last night that the Bears are out of the Harbaugh sweepstakes anyway.

The industry she is in is one where it's all about having attention on her so even more people will notice her for one reason or another when she's actually singing (which she's actually not too bad at). In other words, she's doing a really good job at her job. If it upsets you, fortunately you can simply disregard her, which is what I do with her for the most part. At the very least, I don't think anything she has done is deserving enough to be degraded as a "bitch." Saying that simply just shows your inability to articulate your thoughts, or instead exposes you as sexist with an inferiority complex who is scared of a woman's sexuality (as absurd as her occasional behaviors may be) and/or her ability to be successful.

JHendo's been to one too many feminists rallys. Good gravy man, that's a pretty healthy leap of a conculsion given the limited amount of data and inormation used to conduct the psychogical analysis.
