META: Front page login issues - Chrome
I've noticed that I can't login from Chrome on the front page. If I drill down to a post the login works. Also, going back to the front page automatically logs me off. Started yesterday and I only use Chrome.
Anyone else have this issue? Mods delete this or whatever if necessary.
EDIT: Per LSA2000 and others the servers are 'flushing' the system. Which makes sense since most of us were full of crap yesterday. I do notice an increase in speed on the site which I guess is similar to a nice 'cleanse'...

Me, too.

I also tried Firefox and even Internet Explorer. Same issues.

Having the same problem. Login seems to work from the MGoBoard within a thread.

This problem started happening to me today, it was fine yesterday - what could it be?
December 3rd, 2014 at 2:50 PM ^
same exact issues and I'm using IE.

I'm new here so I just thought it was normal. Or that someone spilled beer on the servers.
December 3rd, 2014 at 2:52 PM ^
Yep. Firefox user, same issue. Started today.
I think it means that Jimmy is coming to Michigan. Server asplode.

I've also noticed in chrome is nearly impossible to get to older MGoBoard posts other than the ones in the right hand column on the home page. If you hit 'Next' arrow, it actually makes the whole MGoBoard column disappear. Not sure if it's a related issue or not.

I'm on a Gobment puter and am having the same issues.
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:02 PM ^
Gobment haz smart.
But it did the same thing to me home last night, so I think its a "them" problem.

Is that anything like a Bozoputer?

Yep it has been 2 days for me.
Was Hoke manually controlling our logins?? If so, I want him BACK!

When it came to a point where even more obscure errors than the normal 502 and 504 errors were coming into being and that pages would just timeout without even presenting any sort of error code, it was definitely time. The best one in my opinion was the "Backend Fetch Failed" screen, which gave "varnish cache" as a remedy. I briefly imagined someone with a can of Minwax going over the innerds of the server in a tasteful medium walnut.

Same on Safari. Can login through an individual thread but not on the landing page. Also, I've never had to log in every single time I get to the landing page.

Me too.
I think it's Brandon getting revenge on MGoBlog.
He not only reads blogs, he messes with them as well.
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:02 PM ^
Exact same thing for me.
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:05 PM ^
all day yesterday as well.
But today its working fine again.

What is this MGoBlog of which you speak? I'm not familiar with it, but is sounds like a great place to hang out and chat about Michigan sports. I've been out of town for a bit - has anyting happened lately?
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:07 PM ^
Not much.
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:10 PM ^
I don't have that issue with chrome. What I have noticed is that the site is incredibly fast compared to what it was. I think the change must have had something to do with it.

they're demanding a larger stipend of nuts, but all cheap-ass Brian is offering them is stale bread crusts.
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:14 PM ^
Same as everyone else - can only login when I'm in a thread
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:14 PM ^
me too. needs more Harbaugh.
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:16 PM ^
Same deal with me....keeps logging me out. Using Chrome.
December 3rd, 2014 at 3:18 PM ^
We had to downgrade the server.
Cost cutting measures so we can pay Harbaugh his retaining fee.

Add me to the list.

I can't even login. Or at least, no easily.
Normally I can log in on the front page using my "remembered" password. But today, nada. I had to click the "login" option in the specific thread, not on the left sidebar.

I'm having the problem with both explorer and safari. I seem to have more success with Chrome at the office.

December 3rd, 2014 at 4:05 PM ^
You're right. I just tried it and it worked. Thanks.

Per the mods, it happens automatically when traffic gets too high to allow more people to access the site.

I spoke too soon.
Its messing up again.

Thought it was just me, I have same issue.. still
December 3rd, 2014 at 8:21 PM ^
Or perhaps an explanation of the source of the problem and what is being fone to correct it?
Site's broken. We can work around it, but it would be nice to have some insight into when we can expect a fix.
Thanks

Hire a MAC level server and this is what can be expected.
