I like about miles is that he has won a National Title, and won the SEC, mainly though he wont live in the past and will look to "carve his own legacy" at michigan, no doubt id want harbaugh #1 but Miles would definetely be my 2nd option, its those 2 or bust.....

Michigan football is in critical condition, and needs a specialist not a family doctor.

Nonesense, michgan is not in no critical condition they just need to get off of the ties of coaches, Harbaugh, Miles, Anyone that have ties, They need to get off of that. Hired somone that know build a consistant team not some savior.

No, as another poster said, he's Tarzan.
November 30th, 2014 at 8:42 PM ^
Honestly, I wouldn't mind Miles being the coach. He's got the fire, he can recruit. He's got the track record. He's up there in age, but I think if they named a coach in waiting 4-5 years into his tenure, it'd be a way of setting up Michigan to succeed after Miles retires.

if only because it would make Lloyd Carr's head explode.
December 1st, 2014 at 9:48 AM ^
I was kinda with ya... but upon further review, where the hell is Carr? We don't see him publiclly supporting the university...
just undermining coaching searches since he left.
(Yeah, I know his family has other things going on, the forum can spare me the righteousness)

This got to to be the stupid thread i had ever seen, Do you have proof that He going to leave LSU and SEC for Michigan. You cant just say off his tweet to clarify that he coming to michigan. It stupid he not leaving LSU for michigan.
December 1st, 2014 at 9:41 AM ^
it stupid u not know how to write.
November 30th, 2014 at 9:30 PM ^
You know i think you guys are a bunch a dummy to believe what been here. Miles is not leaving the SEC for Big Ten and i dont care if he michigan ties or not, See this is what hurting michigan, Get off of the ties, Hired somene that build consistant team not someone that going to save it or savage it. He playing in Best Conference in American why leave that for downgraded conference like the Big Ten. Trying to relive glory days once again.
What happen if He doesnt take michigan. What you going to do. Same can be said for Harbaugh.

I would take Miles. He averages 9 to 10 wins in the SEC west. If Hoke was coaching Michigan in the SEC west, Hoke would probably average 2 wins a season. I don't think Mullen is interested in our job but may take it, if we offer him a boat load of money. Miles, on the other hand has Michigan as one of his dream jobs. He looks relatively you for his age and I think he will fill the gap better than anyone until Harbaugh is done with the NFL and wants to return to Michigan. Though I think there will be alot of resistance from the athletic department, so we will probably not offer Miles for the third time. This cheap AD will get us a Hoke 2.0. Our football program then will just implode with a Holk J.R.!
November 30th, 2014 at 10:42 PM ^
Miles is not an outsider, has won a national championship, is a crazy fucker, recruits well, his teams tend to play inspired, is a Bo guy and not from the Lloyd coaching tree. I can warm up to this idea if Jimmy H. doesn't pan out.
EDIT: and you know he'll wear the block M hat on the sideline like Bo did in the good ole days. Just bring your DC but leave your OC in Baton Rouge.

Can we please just do an actual, honest to god, coaching search that researches viable candidates, grades them on sound criteria, paring down to a small final group, followed up by some actual interviews to arrive at the best candidate? Is that so much to ask for?
This really should be Hackett's only job right now and if he's not spending every working hour on this one problem, then he is fucking up. Period.
My PSL renewal form came in the mail last week. It's return is waiting on how this process plays itself out. I'm waiting Jim.

How will Miles do without oversigning? At his age, how long will he actually be at UM? My guess is 4 years. So is he just coming in to right the ship? It's Harbaugh-or-bust and it looks like bust is the choice.

Right conference - wrong coaches (Miles/Pellini). Consider Gary Pinkel at Missouri. Played under legendary Don James and was an assistant on James' UW staff. Oustanding records at Toledo and Missouri. Pinkel knows how to win.

I was unaware. That is an impressive record.
