|1 year 20 weeks ago||it pains me to say this||
Its hard to argue against tOSU tonight. They womped Wisconsin. Now, I agree that the b10 in general is terrible especially considering that Wisconsin is supposed to be a strong team. Pretty much everyone this season has been able to score on toFu. The ACC is 2-0 against meyer since he went to ohio. There is a risk that TCU gets pulled in favor of OSU who was left at 5 despite losing their second all star qb to see what happens in the B10 champ game. (where do they get these guys?) Anyway, Im pissed.
Part of me hopes this is all a b10 conspiracy to get a team into the playoff.

I was unaware. That is an impressive record.
|1 year 21 weeks ago||I'm inclined to agree||
I'm not nearly as high on B12 teams as the OP is but I do recognize the PR campaign to get tOfu into the playoff. This year's choices will show us whether this committee is just a pawn of ESPN. After all, ESPN will benefit greatly from having ohio play rather than TCU.

Good for the students getting something that is good for not only them but future classes. Great work.
|1 year 28 weeks ago||Hoke||
Hoke is just as shocked as we are.
Gardner is a pro.

Its great to be....

Has been much much better tonight
|1 year 29 weeks ago||Ole Miss and A&M||
It will be interesting to see if Ole Miss comes out flat. There really isn't a bad game to watch in the SEC. I think this may be the end of Arizona's run but I'm pulling for them.
|1 year 29 weeks ago||Yep||
I can't remember why he resigned though. He has been pretty good everywhere he has coached.

28 yard perfect pass into double coverage

Hoke has convinced Norlfeet that clapping defies physics.

Directly to bad habits after that TO

This was just as bad as what happened here and RR should have been reprimanded for not pulling him. Worse yet, it looks like he only left him in to complete the drive. Terrible.
|1 year 29 weeks ago||Sooo...||
I guess they were pretty good then right? Talented maybe?
Mattisson is a pretty good DC though. He was the bright spot for me in the Hoke hire.
|1 year 29 weeks ago||Well said||
hindsight is 20/20
|1 year 29 weeks ago||I have to nitpick this||
Pryor barely considered WVU as an interest. He was fully engaged with OSU from the beginning. He only showed serious interest when RR took the job at UM. I'm not sure if it was the known lack of players on the roster at UM or if he was just playing RR. I have doubts he ever intended to go anywhere but OSU. Mostly, we lucked out, he was a problem child.
|1 year 29 weeks ago||Sucked is a strong word||
Caveat: Although I supported RR, I do not think he could have survived at UM.
4* recruits were pretty much even over the first 3 years. I only did a cursory count but if my eyes don't deceive me 36 (RR) versus 31 (Hoke). 5* was substantially better with 1 (RR) and 3 (Hoke).
His last class fell apart but that was to be expected with the common belief it was his last year. Notable that Hoke's class last year is also a bit trim on "verified" talent... with only a handful of 4 stars and Peppers.
Keep in mind some names from RR recruiting:
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Logically 2012 was a miracle||
But I got the impression in the stands that it was never in doubt. I don't even remember people leaving early.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||I watched Rutgers play in their opener||
They looked decent against Washington State for a road opener. Before ND I figured they would be a risk if we overlooked them. Now they look like the Patriots.

Harbaugh is a pro.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||I don't know about the marketing thing||
There will likely still be systemic problems in the Athletic Department if Brandon remains.
That said, I would definitely prefer John over Jim and according to SI.com today, John is being pursued.
John is a professional who will work through the pressure cooker that is UM football these days. He won't get flustered and he will make appropriate decisions. I think Jim is greatly affected and influenced by external forces.
Most of all, My hope is that we never see the utter disregard for player safety that has been happening on the field. This isn't the first time this year I have seen what I would describe as negligence. Hoke looks lost and seems unable to make any timely decisions during games.
Fantasy: Loyd Carr AD, John Harbaugh HC, Jim Harbaugh DC, RR OC, Barwis SC, Mike Hart RBC, Ron English DLC, Charles Woodson DBC, Scott Loeffler QBC, Jim Tressel - towel and jockstrap maintenance assistant.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Yeah||
The negativity increases by factor as long as the losing streak continues.
I just don't understand the logic of scheduling a Utah. There is very little value for us in a win. Utah, despite excellent performance, has a mediocre reputation in the football world. We accepted all the risk in that engagement.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||I think two things||
1. Is it possible that even with a Brandon departure and potentially a new coach that the fans and alumni buy in to the program again to allow growth? I have to admit, despite all of RR's shortcomings fans still attended all the games and continued to support the team. This doesn't seem to be happening anymore. I haven't heard one positive comment from friends and family in the past year or so.
2. It is definitely #2. Brandon is a number 2.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Not sure about the majority of it||
But the part about the athletic department is resonating.
|1 year 31 weeks ago||I don't know either||
I am on the fence about Brandon. I do not think everything he has done is bad for the school, but I have doubts that anything he has done was in service of the school.
|1 year 31 weeks ago||Doesn't really matter||
Unless one or the other can play on the line.
|1 year 31 weeks ago||Makes sense to me||
Losing the head coach and the AD at one time would likely be more destructive than keeping Hoke on during an assessment period for a new AD. It is also pretty unfair to the players.
