Hello: Brian Cole
Enough said. BBQ off to a great start!
LeBron style "@Young__Kid__: Proud to say im a Michigan Wolverine! 〽️
Welcome Mr. Cole!
@ChrisUlvinen I think one or more will happen. Not sure who. Marcus Lewis, Elijah Holyfield, Tyriq Thompson, Roseboro maybe...

Notice he didn't say Cole. I think this only helps make it more likely. I'm looking forard to tomorrow.
Bam. Cole is like a better and more skilled JuJu Smith and that punk is damn good. It has to really burn Sparty to lose these guys in Michigan after the good season they had. Hilarious they cant even bring most of the top talent in. Holyfield would be a really awesome get also because who is going to mess with Evander's son? No linebacker or db wants to take the chance of getting an uppercut and being knocked out cold in a big game. Not that it would happen but gotta get him. Everyone in the country is going to want to watch that kid and play with him. Bring in Peppers and Green to get him on board baby. Go Blue! Roseboro and Thompson are huge too.
remain open? Some expected attrition from the RS Jrs, a couple maybe? This class is about full, isn't it?
Love me some BBQ.
Well, I was hoping to be rewarded with good news after nearly three hours of assembling furniture from Target and having to use some of my own screws in the process because I personally can't have nice things. It is great, however, to see that Michigan can have nice things - welcome to Michigan, Brian Cole!
What happened to the included screws?
HUGE! Welcome to the family B Cole! Keep it rolling! And get on your recruiting cap, there's still work to do!
They did this for the Winter Classic as well. I can't say I'm totally surprised.
Is this what they did? If so, what do they have on it? I hope it's the team logos and not just ads...
This is a sneaky good class. It's 5th right now in average player rating according to the 247 composite and would be 2nd behind Alabama if we didn't have a kicker in the class (though I'm sure other schools have kickers, too).
Granted, it'll be hard to keep this average quality up as the quantity increases, but I'm definitely not seeing a big recruiting drop-off.
be that hard to keep the average up. I think Thompson is a 3* by most services. Most of the other guys we are close on are 4* guys at least so I think we will stay about where we are.
I forgot how good Hello posts feel when you're not expecting them.. #GoBlue
Side note: Michigan has the 18th ranked class on Scout, but ties with Alabama for first with average star ranking.
he is a four star and we are close to a four star average.
Seems bizarre. We were tied with USC and then we added a 4* and remained tied. Given that we have 2 commits with less than 4 stars, the math doesn't work, but so be it. It'll change 20 times before the end of the race anyway, but nice to see how well we're doing.
..and then immediately after
Was it really a surprise. Hoke has beaten Dantonio for every big recruit except for Burbridge and Mcdowell.
They've basically owned us for over 5 years....and kids still would rather play for Michigan than them. This is even after they're coming off a Rose Bowl win.
Probably doesn't help that your head coach has the personality of a rock and your offensive coordinator is Jim Bollman
I bet they can make a decent sales pitch for that. That makes this an even bigger recruiting win in my book.
Huge get. Most talented player in the state, imo. Between him & Ty Isaac, pretty much completely nullifies the Damien Harris/George Campbell loss...
Damn good point. It actually does. Cole is more skilled than Campbell, just doesn't match the top end which doesn't mean everything. As long as Harris doesn't end up at Ohio, all is fine.
Agreed, however the difference is the "mayor's" stock is dropping and Cole is SOLID.
Lets just hope this weekend we nab 2-3 more players. Side note F**K OSU
And yes Buckeyes we are coming.
Couple quotes from Scout article:
"First off, I loved ever school that offered me a scholarship," he said. "All the coaches and staffs and supporters that treated me like family, nothing against any of them, but the thing about Michigan was, I wanted to stay closer to home. It felt like home and felt like the place I need to be."
. . .
"I know I'll be playing slot receiver and depth chart wise, the best players play so I'll compete for my spot."
A big part of Cole's recent recruitment was Wolverine quarterback commit Alex Malzone, who targeted Cole as soon as he made his commitment and hopes to target him on the field as teammates now.
"It was good. I like Alex a lot. He's a leader, and I can tell he will be a great quarterback. I had a really good time down here with those guys and getting to know them."
Little tidbit.
I am pretty sure it was this forum i posted quite a while ago - but we really did not have a very good chance at landing Cole, and im talking from the very beginning. The coaches really deserve a ton of credit on this one.
I am from Saginaw and every so often i get some very good tidbits on athletes here since im extremely active in the area and speak to quite a few people in regards to high school athletics.
Let me say that Brian Cole for quite some time favored OSU, from a pretty reliable source. Now, i don't know this for a fact, but from tea leaves, MSU then took the lead over OSU and MSU and the coaching staff did a very good job recruiting him. No doubt in my mind. It had/has to be hard for Cole to turn them down.
Michigan for most of his recruitment was actually 3rd. IMO, there was no way i saw him coming here up until maybe a few weeks ago i though 'maybe' Michigan had a chance, but still not a great one.
Again, in short, Michigan did a unbelievable job changing this kids mind. Great job Michigan staff.
